Bike 141 at 0:57 : A '83 Yamaha IT250K. I believe I bought that very bike from Centre Suzuki in 1989 - They told me it had raced in the '83 race, and viola! here in the video, we see that 250K with the very same Boyeson Racing reeds sticker on the front fender. So that's likely the very same machine. I kept that bike the whole time I lived in Alice, and brought it with me back the USA because it was one hell of a fun machine. Bulletproof.
how simple it was.... and a few beers each night, no stretching, no personal trainers etc, just fun enjoyng themselves 100%!! the boys turning up in an old shitty ute.. ahhhhh those were the days.
Thats bull shit, the track is more dangerous now with the whoops and the dust makes your vision terrible. The track was at its best between here and 2000 but the introduction of the buggies is what caused the whoops to appear
I've still got the Australian Dirt Bike magazine that covered this back in the day.
Stephen Gall is a legend !

Love to see the green dirt bikes in the race!

Crazy doing a Le mans start those 500 two stroke are difficult to start at the best of times.
