- Drew's can-am commander xtp finally came in. We were able to get out this past weekend in between rain storms and test it out. We put around 300 miles on it and so far it has been a very capable machine. He put the tilting full windshield on it and the can-am device holder for his Samsung tablet with orux maps, he also has a soundbar and comms coming. Most of the footage is from Burning Rock Off-Road Park and outlaw trails around the house.

Yes, not a very good off roader but a lucky one to get one. Here (in Québec) I can't get one before end of august, too bad the summer is almost at end . In september we lost access to a lot of trails (because hunting), I will wait until next year, winter trail are not fun , not wide enough and too much real cops . By the way I also notice in the vid the suspension seem to be springed stiffer than the XT model I see and try at the dealership maybe the tires.

At 1:14 looks like you have the 'turf mode' still on which allows your rear diff to slip (avoids tearing up grass when working in yard). Should have rear diff locked when trail riding.
Yeah my 2020 mav sport doesn’t have that feature so we hadn’t paid attention to his having it but were impressed with what it had done with only one wheel spinning haha 😂

That’s a great looking machine! Where are you guys riding? Nice trails. How is the ride of the XTP? It looked a little stiff in the video. What were the clickers set at?
Thanks, we’re on some local trails in southern WV. The xtp rides good, obviously not gonna be as good as something with trailing arms but for the type of riding we do it does just fine. Since this video we’ve lowered the tire pressure and the shocks are on soft setting. Thanks for watching.

Drew got it from Amazon, it’s identical to the can-am brand I have in the mav sport
How do you feel about the clutch engagement? Im looking to buy a max xtp but my buddy has a 2016 commander and the clutch engagement is terrible. You either really jerk into motion or you slip the belt.
It’s a completely different animal than the 16 commanders, but at the same time I know everyone’s opinions of what “smooth” is can be different. Probably just have to ride in one and see. Sorry for the late reply.
