Look, I'm y'allternative---or cowpunk---in personality and music taste. It shouldn't be a surprise that a pop-punk artist appreciates the country genre. Check out bands like Social Distortion and Old 97's, they prove that punk rock and country overlap easier than one might expect.
Now, there does exist a chism in lifestyle and philosophy between country and punk. One is more progressive than the other. But, "pop" punk speaks to a different crowd than hardcore punk or political punk. It's the disaffected suburban or small town youth filled with angst and dying for a way out. Country can do that too, but more often than not, it glamorizes small town life. Which is something that pop punk and emo mostly doesn't do.
But as for Avril, I hear that she wants to collab with Miranda Lambert of all people. Actually, Miranda has had a "cowpunk" streak that shined in her first couple of albums so I shouldn't be that surprised. Besides.... music genre boundaries don't have to be so complicated, everybody wants a happy ending. I'm with you, Avril.

I will always trust that avril lavigne will trust in the lord and I don't believe she would turn from God if she says she's Christian I have faith in her and we should too no one's perfect and non famous people are no different from famous celebrities we all sin but if we trust in the lord we will all be saved by his grace and love him.
Thank the Lord For us existing I'm forever grateful that we have such a talented young woman Avril u hope she is doing okay and that she is living a great life, I'd raise a glass in her name any day she's that awesome! 👍
It’s obvious that currently she’s still figuring out who she is and she’s in a rough patch in her relationship with God. I do have faith she’ll reconnect with God, but for now we can only pray for her
