No replies and only double digit likes... what happened here??
Even Dogen's answer to not knowing everything about Japan was incredibly Japanese
And Sora basically confronting him is a very American thing to do.
Man get out with that sense lmao
I was going to say - his humility is very Japanese of him. I was great to see this collaboration - respect on both sides!
” 何でもは知らないわよ、知ってることだけ。”
@@munkhzorigk8231 🤣 aaaaaaaa
Wow, Sora was able to have such a long conversation with Dogen entirely in Japanese. Sora's so NIHONGO JOUZU!
Yep. かれは日本語は上手です。
There were a lot of cuts so it's possible Sora had many tries to sound natural. I'm sure Dogen helped him out
🤔@@JohnM...
@@kansaidreamtrue and he had to do retakes because Dogen actually got every answer correct, which wasn't good content.
you sound like weep learn alphabet Japanese あなたの ばか。
That's reversed, Sora-sensei.
In the reality you're American, while Dogen-sensei is Japanese.
Nice try tho for trying to convince us the opposite.
Only SHEEPLE believe Sora is American. He's undeniably Balkan.
LOL
Pretty sure he admits it in this video by saying if dogen doesn’t know the answer to a question he’s not Japanese but also saying that he got it wrong when he tried it lol
His Japanese is pretty good at least. It’s very impressive.
Sora is an American weeb who would do anything to become Japanese, even if he has to cheat an lie
It’s really nice of Dogen to answer a foreigner’s questions about Japan.
Sora: "If you don't get this question, you're not japanese"
Also Sora: "I got this one wrong btw"
Hmmmmm
the plot thickens
Hint, hint! 😜
😱 self exposed
I'm always so impressed by how good sora's japanese is! I mean considering he's american, he sounds pretty much fluent!
I mean, he already said that he knew more about Japan than the average American, so concluding that he knew more than Sora is unnecessary
We need more Sora & Dogen collabs like this! They make pretty great content!
how about...a Rap(Haiku) Battle?
It's a great contrast - the prankster Japanese guy vs. the straightman American... or is that the wrong way round? 🤔
Yes please
@@3playerpoliticsThe Japanese acting American vs the American acting Japanese.
ハードゲン!
How can you doubt Dogen-sensei is Japanese?
Just look at him!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
その通りですね
Are you telling me Kevin O'Donnell isn't a Japanese name?
@@RVeredThese kira kira names are getting out of hand...
He even has that cap on, ofc he's Japanese and people still doubt it... Crazy times we live in
Sora your Japanese here was so good, you almost sounded like real Japanese, it's impressive that yoh were able to host the interview with real japanese, ask all questions in japanese and maintain good conversation and even make jokes, keep up the good work!
Don't worry Sora, it's ok when one of your fellow Americans knows more about Japan than you. Just try to learn a bit more about Japan and what Japanese people do, okay? 👍🏻
Dogen is Japanese though.
LOL!!!!!!!!
In this video we learned that Dogen is Japanese while Sora is definitely American
This is gold 🤣
素晴しい動画ね。
I've never doubt this person is japanese. Unlike Sora-san, who is clearly american that speaks good japanese
The blue/green thing is more interesting than even this explanation, because it's actually a language issue. Midori is a relatively new word and historically ao has meant both blue and green. This isn't weird, many languages divide colors up differently; there is no absolute answer for what falls in which category.
Japan's green traffic lights are often bluer than average because of what they're called and I've seen signs depicting traffic lights that show them as very much more blue than green.
My girlfriend uses the word "ao" very much more often than "midori" and usually unless something is like a vibrant, grass green, she'll use "ao". This actually leads to mixups when she speaks English as she sometimes calls things "blue" that we would definitely call "green".
Although even in the US for whatever reason blue-green bulbs as well as Kelly green have been considered acceptable for traffic signal heads. With the switch to LEDs they have changed again to a consistent diode green. But in the past the color really did vary across a spectrum.
But yeah it's mostly about semantic space.
Yea some words follow this pattern too like aodake (green bamboo) or aojiru (green juice) both which are more green really. Although the term “ryokucha” is pretty common for standard green tea, it uses the kanji for “midori” green.
Although additionally I was just in Japan recently and we did a road trip and all the lights I saw looked very green. Although my husband thought some looked bluish so maybe it’s how some ppl see it? Lol
@@84rinne_moo There are international standards that regulate the range of color that's allowed, it still has to look 'green', but I do think it's generally quite a relatively blue green compared to some other places.
In Germany, the "green" traffic lights are turquoise instead. But we call them "green" anyways and in pictographs they're always depicted as "real" green. I had never questioned it before. Quite interesting!
Dogen's English is honestly pretty good. He sounds fluent, like Sora.
Although Dogen didn't know specifically about the foreign samurai in question, his knowledge of the nature of the ruler at the time is very impressive.
Well they were talking about oda nobunaga who plays a signifcant role in japanese history...
Most of us wouldn't know much about our own cultural history (unless it's taught in schools or you happen to have interests in that), so I'd definitely give credits to Dogen
Nobunaga is extremely well known and featured in 1000s of games, animes, mangas, movies, and doramas. It would be stranger if he didn't know.
Oda nobunaga is as popular in japan as historical figures like theodore roosevelt in america, so it would make sense that the average japanese person would have some idea of what he was like
Tbh it takes a special kind of personality type to do social climbing and warfare at that time
nice to see Americans like you Sora immerse yourself with the locals for a change. keep it up
I just love how Sora seemed really obstinated to get some petty revenge, something like a dangerous comic villain would do.
Or something an American would do.
Funfact Comic´s are an American thing so both of you are actually correct and kind of meaning the same in the end.
Especially Jeff Bezos is pretty much a Lex Luthor in real lol, just look at him and how he laughts very evil villain like😉😂 @@314rft
This could have been uncomfortable to watch but Dogen is so honest and charming and in on the joke. They have a good chemistry.
the audacity of american telling a genuine japanese he is not japanese is truly remarkable.
Jokes should be audacious sometimes.
It truly doesnt even matter what he answers here, its really the reserved way of structuring sentences that proves he's culturally Japanese in many aspects. (And yes, yes, we all know Sora is culturally American)
I mean Sora literally interrogating him over this is indeed very American.
I have no idea about this Sora. What is his actual background?
@@laclochardHe is a renowned connoisseur of unchi
how is it reserved?
@@laclochard It appears to be some sort of fabric sheet
Sora Is the most fluent American I have ever seen.
The crossover I never personally expected but am super happy to receive.
Thanks to you Sora and Dogen for a great video together
Soraさん 日本語上手👏
I laughed so hard throughout the whole video. Separately, you two are already funny. But together? Amazing.
So funny, Dogen keeps cracking up after every joke Sora pulls.
Dogen is more Japanese than Sora , but Sora himself is American!
Dogen does know many things about Japan, he passed the test 👏
I mean, Thats not very hard though.
Sora tried to expose Dogen, but turned out to expose himself that he's american 🎉
二人の日本語力が強く過ぎる 😫
そらさんの日本語は上手って、ネーティブっぽい発音。ドウゲンさんは良い先生だと思う〜 おつかれ
2:49 The smirk on Sora's face at this moment represents a devil who makes a deal with a fool. So malicious, so him 😊
Fun Fact: Dogen is secretly the one and only mentor of Sora and he learned him the secret dark arts of Rasengan
Sora you should have asked him to remove his cap to see if he has blonde hair or not, if he didn't had then that means he is Not a foreigner who leaves in Japanese as according to ANIME foreigners living in Japan have blonde hair .
Meanwhile the natives have hair of every color of the rainbow.

Sora keeps on increasing the beef with every UA-camr including Dogen.
日本人から見て普通の日本人は街中で螺旋丸やナルト走りはしないので、ソラは日本人じゃない疑惑があります。
それおもった
Everyone knows that Yuta is not Japanese, Dogen is Japanese and Sora is actually American.
Also, Chris Broad is a Puerto Rican Vtuber;
Takashi is not from Japan;
Garnt is in fact Grant;
Rambalac doesn't have legs;
....
Thanks! This was super fun, a great collaboration between two of my favorite UA-camrs.
watching sora laughing his ass off is a new experience for me, this is very interesting
@6:40 Propeller planes are also considered 飛行機 and there are definitely Cessnas and similar planes that are a bit slower than the fastest bullet train. Just goes to show that Sora is not Japanese at all.
If were talking about planes in general, then yeah, no currently operating train is faster than a plane (Maglev doesn't count)
Even airliners have a big range of speeds. A Boeing 737 can safely stay airborne at about 155 knots (287 km/h) which is slower than Shinkansen currently in service and a lot slower than the linear motor car (the one they'll be using in the Chuo Shinkansen).
I love how Sora claps like a seal 😂
I'm sure there some Cessna 172 Skyhawks in Japan. Those have a top airspeed of 188 mph (about 302 km/h). Looking at the English Wikipedia page for Shinkansen, some of the lines reach 320 km/h. I'll concede that there could be some idiosyncrasy about the Japanese word used here for "airplane" that I missed, but taken at the subtitle translations, yes, there are some trains that are faster than some airplanes.
The mag-lev Chuo Shinkansen under construction has a top speed of 505 km/h (314 mph) There is a test track that have had tickets open to the public ... but as it isn't a regular line, does it count?
If you count city centre to city centre journey, I'm sure there must already be several regular Shinkansen trips that are faster than the equivalent regular plane, when you take transit to/from the airport into account .. just as there are many other examples of that around the world.
Literally my first thought was that a Cessna 172 cruises at like 120 miles, way below the average shinkansen. If we are talking in general, trains go faster than planes in Japan.
@@FindecanorNotGmail I actually answered that question wrong cause I knew about this latest maglev that could outspeed an airplane. I guess I'm not Japanese enough haha.
This was such a treat to watch when I started my morning!! Thank you!!
This was absolutely delightful! Stuff like this is why I love following your channel.
That and "OI OMAE!!!!"
8:00 Sora breaking character felt great, I wasn't expecting his laghter either
6:41 **Actually**, there IS a prototype that goes 520 km/h on a test track if I remember correctly. But in everyday use, none.
This crossover was beautiful. I'm so glad it finally happened.
You both are a treat to watch. You guys are great.
This is your best video to date. Watched it from beginning to end
sora/dogen collabs are the best, always so funny
This is the BESTO collab ever. Love both of you guys.
I loved this video so much. It was wholesome and funny, I could not stop laughing. The intro was really entertaining, and the "interview" was well organized. Great job!
This was a fun video. You should do more stuff like this.
so unexpected! but very nice! collab between dogen and sora! nice!
Not many creators making English/Japanese humor content. Team up more! Lot of overlap in your viewers. When I saw Dogen RASENGAN the first time and saw you comment it brought me great joy.
Sora san keeps tricking us puppies into learning... disguising it as comedy or even drama, but it's always educational 😂
Dogen and Sora collab? I love both of your content! This is a dream come true!
Encore! Encore! More Sora & Dogen!
Pretty please 😩
I loved this video, I haven’t laughed this heartily for a while!
I can't believe how fluent Sora is his Japanese is almost as good as Dogen's
This is the best collab all year, nice job getting Dogen for the quiz Sora!!!!!
2:55 of course you've never seen ninjas do it, they're ninjas
Omg ❤ I love Dogen, you are just as awesome and hilarious to watch! Subscribed!
Such a great video, Sora collabing with others is so funny
Good stuff, thanks for the laughs! That wait at the end
Perfect
土現さん:日本人じゃないです。
ソラさん:はい、お前!
I really love your speaking delivery harkening back to epic Jidaigekis and Hokuto No Ken final boss character speaking delivery in the beginning of the video. Just hilarious. lol.
You really need to do Seiyu work.
You two are a good combo! Please do more collaborations😊
I love this collab so much haha
10/10 vid
Excellent colab! The comedy/chemistry between you two was great :)
If he acts more Japanese than the average Japanese person then he's not acting Japanese. It's like if everyone was weird and one person was normal the weird people would be normal and the normal person would be weird.
I never knew I needed this collab so much until now.
Dogen should now ask Sora a bunch of questions about America xD
These actually seem like easy questions, I think maybe knowing stuff about comedians and pop culture might be harder. I hope you both do this again it was fun to watch!
I learn so much about Japan from your videos
The vibes this video produces are unique. Sora should really do more collabs with different japanese or japanese speaking content creators. Too bad he was too late to talk to Filthy Frank 😔
The collab we never knew we wanted. Wonderful.
The two of you definitely got a laugh out of me with this collab, thank you❤
Class act, boys! Please do more jouzu videos like this one.
The conclusion slayed me. Love it.
you can see sora trying to supress his laughter after each question 😂😂
which made this video all the more charming 😁
😂😂 i was wondering when this was gonna happen!!
This was so entertaining, Sora your quiz show persona was fucking hilarious. I loved the smirk and quick exaggerated clapping after each response hahahaha especially on the ones that were wrong

My two favorite Japanese UA-camrs 😂 This was fantastic. You two should do a podcast together or something.
the collab i didnt know i needed 😂 i loved this
Finally the collab is here! Do I hope you appear in Dogen's videos as well in the future!
The final contest! So nice!
This channel is awesome. Fun interview
Congratulations, Sora-san, you're an honorary American!
I didnt know who Sora or Dogen was until 3 minutes ago, but I was recommended this video by UA-cam anyway and decided to watch. Sora is hilarious.
*cackles*. This is gonna be good. Thanks in advance for the laughter I really needed it today.
That was great! I've had a lot of fun watching it.
