1000%!! Most UA-camrs are narcissists that only care about their likes and not about the culture. Your channel is a refreshing break from that hot mess of crap out there. .
You really reignited my love for hondas..civics were seen as your usual boy racer shitty cars here, but through you showing me what was going on in japan and how they appreciate the civics in osaka i fell in love all over again with my EK4 and appreciate it every day that i can drive it.
joey ty ty for that lil monologue...you are very right that if you are "supposed" to be documenting about car culture, document about that not about yourself. I appreciate your content amongst the others because you dont force "subscribing" or "liking" and never have all these many years you have been doing this. This has always been in my opinion the standard to how documenting the car culture whether it be in japan or here in the states should b. Great content as always of time attack at Tsukuba!
I’ve been watching The Chronicles aka Stickydiljoe since maybe freshmen year of high school. I’m about to turn 29, I really love the contents. Displaying of Japanese car culture and being true to your opinions. No click baits and no cringy contents that many of the other “car UA-camrs” put out.
The cars are super dope in Japan still. As we think it’s dying, they are going stronger then ever. I dig your video style because it’s not setup, no quick cuts and hidden jumps. Just pure honest cars, people, and culture. Much love Joey.
U know what I like of this channel,Joey take you were none other you tuber would,he know every single freaking brand name for aftermarket parts(body wise) like things the we never knew about it .. plus that editing, plus the pictures too.. AND MOST IMPORTANT IS ....ALL ABOUT CAR CULTURE MY FRIENDS
The way you spoke about displaying Japanese car culture is what truly sets you apart from all others that document themselves in Japan. Very appreciative of your content over the years brother.
Keep making the content you do! It might be a nieche market but the market of quality documentation is big. You do a great job of making the viewer feel as if they were there, and that is rare especially on youtube and todays social media platforms. Love the content and keep inspiring!
Other UA-camrs are cringey af, especially when they go to Japan. Always talking about my dream build this or that, I bought this rare part and I haven’t seen it on any other car even though the part has been around since the 2000’s.
Every other video is a “dream come true.” Seems like all have the same dreams. Nismo Fest,RWB Meet,TAS oh and Daikoku. I’m thinking “wait until they go to 3/2 ,3/3,and 3/4 day” More dreams coming true.
I don't really follow much import car stuff as much as I did in the mid 90's but I know the stuff that's worth following. Thank you once again Joey for your incredible footage on some of the best stuff out there, I know for a fact you don't do this for yourself and even more so you don't do it for us either. You do it for the culture and no one else has anything on your approach to documenting this culture. Thanks for the video once again. Until next time, take care.
There’s a reason why you make my favourite UA-cam content. The quality and perspective is rivalled by nobody else. Been around for many many years now and enjoy every single video
14:55 this is why you're the GOAT. It's refreshing seeing things from your perspective and not have it be all about you. I'm an older guy (40+ years old) and it's just hard for me watching all these young UA-camrs trying too hard to be about the culture. Guys like TJ Hunt bring ZERO value to the community. Keep doing big things, bro. There's a niche group of folks that love your content.
Keep doing what you're doing. I've always enjoyed the style you bring. It is "The Chronicles". So unique and cool the way the car culture is presented.
Wholeheartedly agree with your statement. So much cringe in the automotive youtube/social media space. Wish more people would let the content be the things that are documented rather than scenes of people waking up in random hotel rooms and all of this ME ME ME ME nonsense. Your adventures in Japan remind me of what it's like to be there, just walking around experiencing things. In the end, that's what it's all about. Thanks again for showing us your journey!
This literally reminds me of Gran Turismo ( PS1) when I was younger, so many beautiful machines to choose from before purchasing. Much appreciated showing the Car culture of Japan. ❤️
@@THECHRONICLES once again Thank You for the time and experience that you share with us. Hopefully you cross paths with @Noriyaro or maybe you have ? Another human that shares Japan's car culture.
People like you and Dino are the real car guys that really brings us the best in car content with a open eye and open mind to what we love as Japanese car culture, before the larry chens it was you my dude. And a true Honda OG who still gives us the best honda content we could ask for. a forever supporter from the NW.
I hate most car UA-camrs because they go for the attention, clickbait game. You have this chill vibe, which is unique. Never change that please, there are enough others who do that for likes, views etc. Just keep improving the quality bit by bit. For instance, I want to experience the car community and lifestyle of Japan. Your yearly vlogs do it justice without distracting dialogues about what you have or want. I make time in the morning to make a cup of coffee and watch your video. Never change Joey, your content is gold!
Keep doing things your way Joey. Authentic content will always trump clickbait and dramatized algorithm optimizations when it comes to quality. There are a ton of people who appreciate the way you present car culture. Thank you for serving our audience .
To keep it short - The way you document stuff, the people you know and your knowledge about all these cars and parts are what set off your videos the best. Its so enjoyable to see you talk about all these builds in japan because you actually know your shit lol. Much love!
Looking forward to you returning to Japan and showing more local car culture as I've been there 14 years ago but I wasn't a JDM fan then...plz more Kansai street car action...great documentaries btw...good luck🍀🍀🍀
the way you document the culture is perfect. i enjoy streaming these videos to my tv and feeling like i'm walking the paddock while you talk about the history of some car, some shop, neat parts or fab work
I absolutely love every episode you guys put out. The scenery, culture, and especially car knowledge/history is always on point!!! Keep the great content coming, and it's always much appreciated.
41 years old and still attending meets, love the content, the B-rolls are unlike no other, me and my buddy who are avid watchers of your channel agree your channel is art mixed in with a little day to day shenanigans with car friends alike, keep up the good work! 👍🏽 PS just curious being at the track that day I’m Japan, no track footage? Do the officials not let you? Or the focus is purely aesthetics?
There is so much going on and every competitor honestly only gets two hot laps per session so I didn’t want to interfere and out cameras in anyone’s cars or anything.
Enjoyed the intermission. The most viewed "JDM UA-camrs" are clever in a way they weave an almost kardashianesque narrative of their life and constantly posting their daily life and family almost to a distasteful level. (Trying to be nice here) I think that's why your following is so niche, you do stuff in a very artistic and unique way. No clickbait, no look at my girlfriend's ass undoing some lugnuts. Keep it that way Joey.
Don't ask me why, but the part from 7:10 until 7:40 made me think of Gran Turismo with that music, love it. I would watch a whole compilation of shots like that with that peacefull music on the background... Thanks man ❤️ You have no idea how happy and exited i get when i see a new video.
I think I've been watching your content so long that the way you make your videos has become a standard when it comes to how videos should be haha. So to me, it's always perfect. When you approach a car, You look at and point out the things that, if I were there would look at and be interested in. Always loved that.
What's up bro just letting you know you always bring some great videos and you definitely bring back great memories from the late 90s early 2000 when we be running the streets in Ontario CA terrorizing streets around factories on etiwanda and then everybody meeting up at the AMPM gas station awesome time
You are unlike any other my man, your content is insanely enjoyable, you truly give the Western World a genuine and much appreciated taste of Japanese car and culture. Keep it up bud.
been watching for years. you always got the best framing for each shot. very photogenic/cinematic even before cinematic was a thing for car tubers. til now, not many does it as well as you. thank you for what you do joey, and keep doing what you do best! * can we see more of sara like the old days? :D
15:18 I agree completely. There are a million channels to watch now, yet they all feel replacable. Your content has always felt unique and still does. I have watched so much content on this years attack and yet I was super excited to view it through your lens. Thanks for all the content. Btw I'm completely illiterate when it comes to filming and photography, but do you color grade your videos, or do you achieve this look merely through the lenses you are using? Your videos look very different from other UA-camrs. The colors look more crisp and the contrast seems to be higher.
Thank you! I like that my videos feel unique from everyone else's. And yes, my production value I suppose is a bit higher than most because I do sit and color grade all my stuff like I would edit a photo.
I love how you do your videos, it's like being part of your group of friends, we share a lot of your experiences with you and feel more "in the place."

Always been a huge fan of the content and the quality to me you are the innovator of the quality of these kind of Japanese car videos.. you do a great job of showing a stuff that 98% of us will never get a chance to see in person. It's about as close as we can get to being there because of the quality is so good. You keep making good stuff and you will always have a fan. I love the coverage of the cars but it's showing a little shops and how raw everything is they're all not perfect shops and spotless like spoon. They are what most of us picture when we think of tuning shops
Great video. Always down for Japanese time attack content. Japan has the sickest like flat bed step down trucks, that’s so much better than having to haul a race trailer.
Hello from Manila Philippines. Thank you for all the well made videos. Your video content always has that vibe/feel of calmly absorbing the atmosphere .
