too many bad decisions where made in that race tbh, there was that one overtake max had which basically he got robbed off but then micheal masi robbed hamilton and the saftey car chaos is just straight bs. no winner can be determined from these mistakes so it is what it is sadly

2021 was like the pure essence of Formula 1, concentrated into a single season. The driver changes, the intense battles and even the controversies all made for such a memorable year, and I am so glad that I got to experience it as a hardcore F1 fan

Great video again. I wouldnt look at whether this video is better than the last one too hard. First of all, this being about a single season, it kinda forces to make the video a bit more informative and serious than "haha funny banter moment" all the time than the last one, which was about the whole history of F1. I dunno if you started making this before or after you released the first one, but if you started it after, then holy fuck you are set. My concern is how many of these funny historical documentaries can be made before it goes to topics that are hard to make into an entertaining video. If this is a theme you plan to continue with, rather than anything thats probably going to be the greatest obstacle in keeping up this benchmark you´ve set upon yourself by making these two absolute bangers for video quality.

It wasn't actually cheating, just an exploitation of the rule in order to reach an off-track agreement between the team bosses that went something like "The final race must not end under a safety car" (paraphrasing). With all the controversy throughout the season, it seemed inevitable that this great season was to end in such fashion. Morally speaking, this fortune moment Max experienced at the end of AD seemed justifiable when looking back at races such as; Baku, Silverstone, Hungary, and other smaller incidents on/off track.

Honestly some of Masi’s decisions were so dangerous, as well as unfair and biased. It really highlights the importance of having the FIA focus on safety and fairness rather than entertainment.

i feel like the masive issue with this season on a whole was that redbull had no idea how long they would be competative for as they were planning 2021 to be a building team for 2022 and didnt expect the car to be this fast so they were very agressive trying to get as many points as posible. merc seeing this then needed to be as agressive to win so it was just chaos with the stewards trying to keep wheel to wheel racing alive and keep the championship entertaining and not allowing rediculous rules causing everything to go to shit

At the end of the day, the F1 rules literally allowed the Racing Director Masi to make his controversial decision. And there was definitely reasonable argumentation behind it. There was a lot of pressure to finish one of the most spectacular F1 seasons of all time with proper racing and not a boring procession after a safety car. And the F1 rules simply allowed overruling to make that happen. In the end, it was mostly the British media that took great offense to the 2021 finale. The rest of the world just cheered that the Lewis/Mercedes dominance in F1 was finally broken.

If i recall correctly, the decision from michael masi wasnt really against the rulebook. I think it said "unlap ANY cars" and not all. So it was more a grey area... But after 2021 they changed it. But please correct me if I am wrong, I just remembered it like this.
Correct in that sense. But the rules Masi didn't follow was that the safety car shouldve gone into the pits the lap AFTER the cars unlapped themselves, this would've meant the safety car entered the pits on the last lap, instead of the second last lap.
The thing is, what you just explained was the justification massi and redbull had for the move, but later investigations called that "human error" and changing the rule since kinda shows that it wasn't the correct interpretation

The 10 sec penalty for lewis in silverstone was never enough. should have been a drivetrough penalty at least or 10 sec stop and go.

What about the first race, where hamilton crossed track limits 40 times and didn't get a penalty, the assasination attempt of hamilton at silverstone, or bottas' assasination attempt in hungary, or russel causing a red flag that didn't need to be a red flag, resulting in lewis hamilton being allowed to unlap himself due to a restart, or max's fine for touching a car while hamilton got nothing while driving without seatbelt, or hamilton driving into max and max getting the penalty in jeddah, where max also got a penalty for a situation while alonso didn't get one for doing exactly the same. But no one remembers those controversial decisions of Masi. Only the last one.
