Fallon hasn't even been on TV in over a year and yet people still bring her up. This is why she's such a great asset to the PDC, people love to talk about Fallon. I'm a big fan of Lisa and she *is* the better player but Fallon generates more headlines and buzz. I'd like to see them both promoted more.
Ashton's first 5 darts were brilliant. Just shows how good she is! First time I've ever seen a bloke get literally thumped by a woman in a darts game. In my eyes, Lisa Ashton is the G.O.A.T in women's darts.
I think that the 10 world championship titles by Trina Gulliver makes Gulliver the greatest female darts player of all time, like Phil Taylors 16 World Champ Titles make him the greatest player ever overall...
Fantastic performance. Her best run is actually a last 16, not last 32 and has averaged over 100 on the tour as well. It was always a matter of when she would get that win and shes just getting better and better. Kudos to Lisa
Lisa Ashton doesn’t get the credit she deserves. She is a fearless player with a solid throw. All of the men on the tour should not take her lightly. Especially after this display 🎯👌🏻

Lisa may not be the first woman to win at the WC or even twice, but she still is the best woman ever playing. Some people need to tell those two things apart.

Lisa produces 82-92 averages a lot, while Fallon produces both 72-79 and 90-95 averages a lot. Lisa could win a big tourney with a low standard while Fallon can’t win a big tourney but can beat anyone.
Beeney seemed rattled hard.. but Ashton was on 🔥🔥🔥. Thought it was funny though at 14:50 she knew she had 74 left but didn't know the math subtracting 9 from it, and im horrible at counting 🤣. Im assuming the 9 was for trip 14 to leave 32 out
There is absolutely no reason why women cannot be just as good as men at darts. If Lisa, Fallon, Mikuru, Deta & Beau get a bit more exposure and inspire girls to take up the game we could see women in the top 32 in a few years. I hope it happens.
Actually that is untrue, in my opinion anyway. The reason for this is men have better hand-eye coordination and spatial processing (tests have proven this) which gives them a definite advantage in sports in particular. Notice how the top men beat the top women at virtually every sport there is? It is no coincidence. I'm not saying women can't be good at sports, but I believe the top men will always be better than the top women (and history seems to back this theory with abundant evidence).

Look at the sports, and how the top men almost always seem to be better than the top women. I don't think it's because the men work harder, because women can be just as commited as men at something. I think it's more than coincidence. There is something going on in the brains of the top men that sets them apart from the top women. Studies have proven that men's and women's brains are wired differently, and I believe this difference is why they are better at most sports.

In most cases this is partly due to increased strength, speed, height, reach etc These are factors that women cannot do much about. Training can help them improve but only up to a point, they cannot overcome the genetic disadvantage. However, darts does not require such attributes. I would expect that men out-perform women at darts simply because more men play and those men play for longer. Women are less inclined to spend hours throwing pointed objects at a board just for the fun of it. But if they see other women succeeding more will give it a try. If there is a real pathway to the top and big rewards more will overcome the societal pressures. Since you don't appear to have a citation for actual research perhaps you could suggest what physical attributes make men better equipped to be good at darts.

What I love about this more than anything is Beeney's reaction.. you can spot a fake smile from anywhere but this man was constantly happy for his opponents. When they did a big finish or had a great leg he'd always fist bump and just be an absolute gentleman. 2 years is all we got from him. And we might never see him again on our screens but I just hope people learnt from his attitude and how he carried himself. He absolutely did not give a shit about losing to a woman. He was instead over the moon that she played a great game and he had was part of it. I miss this guy sometimes. Not many characters come through in darts and it's just the way it's become. All talent nothing else. Very boring these days.

If you want this so called equality stop saying woman should have the same chances as dudes and giving the wildcards while in the same giving them praise for being the first woman to do this or that. Im not giving a red hair dude credit for being the best red hair dude in the pdc either.
But at first we need representation to inspire mire girls to pick up darts. We cant say it isnt special if it is in fact special in a sport with supposedly 99% men Would be the same with diverse persons. And with transpeople. Even if some people rightfully see no difference, there are still people lefh that sadly think otherwise. So to enable women, diverse persons etc to be equal, there is a way to be paved
