Nah they shut down ff mobius, ff record keeper, ff7 online, ff snowboarding, ff tactics s, ff all the bravest, ff grand masters, the world of final fantasy spinoff, ff awakening. Final fantasy isnt a good series for mobile and I see this shutting down unless they use funds from ff14 pc edition to keep it running like they do ff11.
I think they are changing some of the movement animations in upcoming patches. They already added banking animations for some flying mounts. Problem is that the game fundamentally cannot have momentum based movement due to how quickly you have to be able to change direction for dodging mechanics
@ I remember this being said back when 2.0 was done and it makes sense to me. How ever I think it could be added as an animation flare as in it won’t affect gameplay. Mind you even if they don’t add that look at these attack animations! Wow
The funny thing is, current FFXIV DOES have those animations in its coding. some cutscenes use the "more somber RP walk", it's super noticeable on Lala because their normal slow walk is the "full/poopy diaper shuffle", which is pretty distinct from their slow walk/slow down animation. The speed up/lean forward at the start of running is in the game, and seems to be tied to the mounting system. For evidence: Equip an umbrella. Start walking at normal "jog" speed. Deactivate the umbrella. Watch as your character briefly leans forward into the jog to "get going". Same animation if you dismount a mount (since fashion accessories seem to use the same coding). It will also happen COMPLETELY randomly when you start running normally, you just don't notice because it's so intermittent. My best guess is it has something to do with server ticks and the dismount "forces" it (it's just most noticeable with de-equipping umbrellas since demounting often the mount is in the way so you can't see your character model for those seconds). The slow down animation is also in, but I haven't figured out a way to "force" it. I have noticed when you drop from short heights, it can sometimes sort of force it and/or a different landing animation than the standard one, but that one is SUPER intermittent, sometimes giving me different animations when jumping/dropping the same height. I just noticed it one day when tapping jump to land on some crates at the very edge where I walked off (same direction I'd been jumping, basically vaulting over the crate but briefly touching down on the very edge before dropping) and I'd sometimes get a slightly different landing animation. I have ZERO idea what that's related to other than possibly 1.X had different animations. The point is, I think that stuff IS in FFXIV 2.0+'s code still, it just isn't momentum based, so it happens entirely randomly based on some hidden server parameters. Maybe they intended for it to be completely disabled and some situations/ticks/RNG (irl clock based seed) causes it to trigger weird, but I did notice you can "force" the dismount one with the umbrella trick. So it's all THERE, it just doesn't have "weight" since FFXIV 2.0+ still allows you to instantly change direction (and has to due to modern fight design being so mobile), and the code is MOSTLY, but not always, unused/inactive.
looks literally the same but with a different ui and spamming normal attack button along with the skills rather than it being auto normal attack, probably to make up for having less skills since its a mobile game and a small screen so the whole thing isn't covered in skills.
Finally someone shows the free movement in and out of combat. Now that I have seen proper gameplay, I am interested and will be getting ffxiv on mobile. THIS is how you advertise a game. Show the actual gameplay in its entirety.

The goal is that the experience is as close as possible, but they're not the same--for one thing, the mobile version doesn't even have the same skills, but for another, the mobile version is starting with just 2.0 from what we can tell--not even 2.x, just base ARR content with some of the polish from later on. You can't even play Ninja yet from what we've seen.
This. I thought it'd be like Raid Shadow Legends, Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes, Marvel whatevertheheckthesubtitleis, etc where you just control a team of 4-5 characters in battles where they teleport place to place. Seeing they actually made FFXIV's open world and you can free walk around, this is an MMO semi-port, not a mobile themepark game taking you from scene to scene to "relive battles"...now I'm actually interested.

Those were them. They could do whatever they want. Square opted for a normal MMORPG mobile. This' the online team working with this developer we're talking about. They want exactly how it was on the mainline consoles, Yoshi-P stated during the mobile, (Crystal World) interview. Nothing added, nothing taken away basically. Hence mashing attack, combining it with skills touch was the norm on the Online version.
basic attack = ur basic 1 2 3 rotation it just make it like PCT rotation. they compile 3 button to 1 button. there is no more gcd . but they added some new skill that force u stand still awhile. and basic attack isn't ur highest dps button. it just BEEG attack button. (imagine u can do BLM fire rotation while running) but most of the time u use the small abilities at the side just like base game.
Not gonna lie. I'm lovin' the additional UI touches and animation flourishes. Kind of wish they'd bring these changes to the main game. I liked how it zoomed in on the NPC and had the large trade-in window when turning in quest items. Looks like the right combination of new and familiar.
What do you mean? That’s been in the game since before Skyrim even launched. The intro scene has been in XIV 1.0 since 2010. In fact, XIV did the “you are finally awake” in the back of a wagon a whole year before Skyrim did.
Seeing this while planning for my grandmother's funeral gives me a smile i thought i wouldnt get back. Lets hope this becomes a reality i really need to get back to ffxiv

In beta however I do not remember what the restrictions were and others have stated because this is beta that is likely the reason this player is starting in Ul'dah. In the original game marauders started in limsa lominsa as well as arcanist. Conjurer, archer, and Lancer in Gridania and gladiator, pugilist, and thaumaturge in Ul'dah.
I'm very curious on how they will implement healer classes gameplay.. Which is basically a tab target gameplay all the way, a little bit difficult if you have to tap party members name on a small screen... Hmm.. Curious.. 🤔
Is the censorship on some of the female races starting outfits just because this is in china? They didn't give female miqo'te, roes, or hyurs their normal shirts / tops and instead all got the same generic shirt... just looks weird considering what im used to it being.

i know chinese mobile gamers tend to prefer leaner experiences so i cant imagine they would do that. i think the goal is to just put a palatable ff14 experience on mobile for people who only game on mobile. funny enough i dont see them supporting all the regions that mostly play on mobile lol
They should release it as soon as possible-it’s going to be a goldmine, especially with all the accessories they can sell. Offering multiple language options is a no-brainer, especially now that AI makes translation so easy. I think the voiceover would work best in Japanese.
My hope is they take their own route with the game at some point, sure keep the story the same but I'd like to see what another dev team can do with the foundation of XIV. Cause if it's just going to be a 1:1 of the PC version....well the gameplay loop is gonna get old very quick. I can see them playing it safe with ARR to be as close as possible, but down the line I pray they do something interesting with the game the PC Devs refuse to do anything about.
Looks like between ps3 and base ps4 version graphically. Also, something many people don't notice or care is that majority of mobile games have terrible compressed audio. This one is very close to the PC version which is nice.

I played FF Mobius every day for like 4 years. Half of that was on JP version. Played NA the day it released. Was a huge addiction! Then they shut it down T____T One of the saddest parts of my life. I really hope they don't shut down this game like they have the rest of their games. I will have a galaxy tab dedicated to this most likely.
ffxi should be the one improved and coming to mobile instead of xiv. millions are paying for xiv every month and still ongoing with patches and future expansions. i dont know how the msq will go for mobile xiv and if the story telling is different then why it should be in mobile in the first place. like destiny rising, its gacha and in another universe/timeline of some sorts. doesnt mess with the original story of destiny 1 and 2.
This one seems little more action mmo compared to the original which is awesome. I used to love old style mmo but BDO and Tera online combat got me spoil and can't go back to slow combat anymore. This is like in between which I could handle.
FFXIV combat doesn’t feel slow at high levels if anything there is a lot of things going around during combat The combat mechanics some of which require predictive geometric changes have to be handled along with keeping up high dps

XIV NEEDS to take some of these animations and improve the ones we have. Even the run stop that was in 1.0 is here and XIV should have it!

We have yet to get the full release. Just chill yo. That's why it's called "patches" and fan feedback for a reason.

I think it's because combat w9uld seem very slow with auto attack. Look a combat and image what it would loke just waiting for the skills to refresh.

ffxi should be the one improved and coming to mobile instead of xiv. millions are paying for xiv every month and still ongoing with patches and future expansions. i dont know how the msq will go for mobile xiv and if the story telling is different then why it should be in mobile in the first place. like destiny rising, its gacha and in another universe/timeline of some sorts. doesnt mess with the original story of destiny 1 and 2.

This one seems little more action mmo compared to the original which is awesome. I used to love old style mmo but BDO and Tera online combat got me spoil and can't go back to slow combat anymore. This is like in between which I could handle.
FFXIV combat doesn’t feel slow at high levels if anything there is a lot of things going around during combat
The combat mechanics some of which require predictive geometric changes have to be handled along with keeping up high dps

To be fair, it’s based on 10+ years old MMO and the original game itself is pretty old school to begin with so yeah….it should be expected.

The mobile version we're different from any FF XIV. It started as new base FF XIV with no expansion.

hmm well I was hoping the character creator would be more in depth as the PC version needs an upgrade if I can play a free 2 play game like Racing Master or Throne and Liberty or Mecha Break and have a more in depth character creator it's sad that they still haven't upgraded the FFXIV one, even on mobile it seems.
