    She's well known for the transitions. Sometimes within a single line. This one of the more mellow songs they do. Perennial Live at Wacken Open Air is another good one, Teacher Teacher (studio or live in Melbourne), Judgement and Punishment One Take Vocal, Pit of Consciousness Live in Kyiv. The rabbit hole is actually bigger than most channels tackle so you really can't go wrong with any of the official videos and even a few of the unofficial ones.

    I can totally relate when it comes to getting away from new music as that happened to me for quite a while. Jinjer just grabbed me and ripped me right out of that rut. Not only have they become my favorite band by far, but they got me excited about new music again and I've found a bunch of other great new stuff as well. The part where you mentioned an effect is just extra layers of Tati's backing vocals that they added to the live recording in post processing. They actually made this video to highlight their drummer Vlad, who had just joined the band. This song is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Jinjer and doesn't come close to showing how amazing they are (aside from Tati's vocal range).
    Another band worth checking out is Orbit Culture and their song From The Inside. That one and Viking by Slaughter To Prevail were probably my favorite new songs from last year.

    • @RustySabita
      @RustySabita  20 днів тому +2

      Yeah, it's weird how it just happens. I just stuck to the music I grew up with or music I heard a consequence of a gig. I generally listen to new music that's on the radio, but I kind of lost my way with rock/heavy metal. Maybe this is what happened to our parents. Anyway, I'm glad I found this band, and hopefully, I find others to rekindled my interest in the metal scene. So far, so good. I'll add those songs to the list and will get to them soon. Thanks for commenting and glad you enjoyed the reaction :)

    🔥Welcome to the Jinjer family, Rusty! I just found your channel, saw your Jinjer reaction and subbed, great reaction! Thank you for bringing the fantastic genre twisting music of Jinjer to more people! I love their energy, how tight they are, how down to earth they are, the heaviness mixed with complexity and groove, beautiful singing and growling and especially Tatiana's lyrics!
    The first time I heard Pisces in 2019, I hadn't liked any metal with growling and it took me a few listens to start liking it, but now Tatiana is my favorite vocalist and Jinjer my favorite band (Pisces has been my wake up alarm for a few years and I still love it more every time I hear it).
    TLDR: skip to the last paragraph 😂
    Sorry for the long comment, I just love Jinjer too much and love seeing people discover (and usually fall in love with) them and each of their songs!
    My three favorite comments about Jinjer that I've seen, "terrifying levels of talent", "I hate it when a Jinjer song ends", and "that was more unexpected than my first child" 🤣
    All four current members of Jinjer have essentially no formal musical training except Vlad the drummer who studied classical piano. For most of their songs, the three guys write most of the instrument music, then Tatiana writes most of the lyrics and melodies (she gets tons of well deserved credit for her vocal and stage performance abilities, but maybe not quite enough for her lyrical and musical composition abilities). Roman the guitarist has written a lot of the instrument music in the past, so he's a huge part of the beautiful sound of Jinjer, but Vlad the drummer (who also plays guitar and classical piano, but so far not in most Jinjer songs - I think he played piano in lainnereP) has been writing more of it and wrote nine of the eleven songs for the latest album Wallflowers. Eugene composes some - he wrote the instrument music for one song on Wallflowers and a few songs on other albums, and I know that apart from his amazing work on the bass, he adds riffs and has written lyrics for a few Jinjer songs.
    Jinjer has been a tour-heavy band, touring almost nonstop from 2013 to 2020 and much of the time since then (with interruptions by covid and the US backed coup/proxy war), hard work that has made them fantastic live performers. The band (all members have been Ukrainian, with Russian their first language) started in eastern Ukraine (Donetsk) in 2008 as a group of three (then five) with none of the current members (they consider the official start of the band when Tatiana replaced the male vocalist and Roman joined as lead guitar 2009/2010), Vlad is the fifth drummer (joined in 2016) and it's been a group of four since 2015 (though they consider their road sound engineer Sasha to be a fifth member). I think they're still friends with all the former members and you can see their former guitarist turned actor, Dmitry Oksen, in older videos on guitar and a more recent video (Disclosure) playing an interrogator.
    One of the things I love most about Jinjer is the messages in Tatiana's lyrics and the way she combines growling and beautiful singing with Jinjer's fantastic instrumentals to be so powerful for expressing the anger and pain in those messages: the anti-war message in Home Back, the anti-greed in On The Top, Mediator and No Hoard Of Value (also the horror of the coal mining industry in their home Ukraine), the protest song Who Is Gonna Be The One, the anti-fascism of Sit Stay Roll Over, the anger at people being narrow minded in Teacher Teacher and Judgment & Punishment, the struggles with mental health in Pit Of Consciousness, Vortex, Wallflower and Perennial, the giving voice to mother nature angry at humanity for letting capitalism destroy her in a bunch of songs like Ape, The Prophecy, Cloud Factory, Noah, Outlander and Bad Water. Other favorites are I Speak Astronomy, Retrospection, Words of Wisdom, Just Another, Captain Clock, Scissors, Exposed As A Liar, I Want It I'll Get It, A Plus Or A Minus, Dip A Sail, When Two Empires Collide, lainnereP, Prologue and Beggar's Dance (those last two are short album bookends that could do well together in one reaction if you're so inclined).
    I haven't found a Jinjer song I don't love, so I think you can't go wrong if you choose any of them, but a few good choices might be Perennial (official and/or live at Wacken 2019, both are must-see), Teacher Teacher (official), Judgement & Punishment (official and/or Tatiana's one take performance, again both must-see), Pit of Consciousness (official and/or live in Kiev/Kyiv, a third where both are absolutely must-see) or the heartwrenching plea against war in Home Back (official video).
    Thank you, Rusty! I hope you'll keep trying out more Jinjer songs and enjoy! ❤🖤🤘

      I'll need to have a few more listens to pick up the lyrics, but she has an incredible voice!
      Perennial seems to be the one that everyone is suggesting right now, so we'll probably check out soon, but we'll definitely get to a few others.
      Thank you for your passionate comment about the band. Love to see it! 😊

      Great comment, except that it's an incredibly one-sided distortion of reality to refer to the fighting between Russia & Ukraine a "US backed coup/proxy war". This is one of those rare cases where the US is by far the less politically and militarily aggressive and domineering party, and happens instead to be backing the Ukrainian independence & democracy, overwhelmingly popularly supported among the Ukrainian people, vs. complete Russian domination. We need to fairly call balls and strikes, and this is a case in which Russia is the imperial aggressor.

    • @MLuxemburg
      @MLuxemburg 17 днів тому

      I'm sorry, but the US war profiteering media is the incredibly one-sided, distorted version here. How many times have you fallen for US war propaganda, because that's what's happening. When Tatiana sings lyrics by her and Eugene about fascists, they're talking about Azov Battalion, Right Sector and other fascist Banderites. How much do you know about the CIA cutout NED that continues to fund fascists like this for the express purpose of staging coups?
      It's so sad to see so many of my fellow Jinjer fans (some of the other commenters here) and others so blinded by US imperial war profiteering propaganda. In 2014 was the US backed coup led by Ukrainian fascists (Azov Battalion, Banderites, etc) that started a civil war (intended by the US to start a proxy war with Russia which Russia tried for eight years to resolve with diplomacy), where the Ukrainian military, led by Ukrainian fascists, killed 14 thousand Russian speaking Ukrainians from 2014 to 2022 in the Donbas region including Donetsk where Jinjer is from. The "fire in the hole" lyric in Home Back is about the Ukrainian military killing Russian speaking Ukrainians. That's what Jinjer had to flee. The people in Crimea voted to leave Ukraine because they did not recognize the US backed coup regime which was de facto run by US backed Ukrainian fascists, you can find video of those fascists pointing guns at the Ukrainian parliament members. Russia got involved in 2022 to stop the US from handing nuclear weapons to the US backed fascists in Ukraine.
      Jinjer's song Sit Stay Roll Over has lyrics directly quoting some of these Ukrainian fascists' mottos, "one path, one past, one trust", which is then flipped in the lyrics to, "it's not one's path, it's not one's past, it's not one's trust, it's not my path!, it's not my past!, it's not my trust!". If you're going to get any part of that song stuck in your head, make sure it's the flipped part and not the fascist motto.

    They are from Donetsk in eastern Ukraine, the part Russia annexed in 2014. Tatiana is mostly self taught, and while there is some post production , with layers, that is all her. Not sure if Angela Gossow ,as you mentioned, influenced her. Her harsh vocal influences do include Otep and Randy Blythe(Lamb of God). On the cleans, possibly Christina from Lacuna Coil, definitely Gwen Stefani as Tati is a fan of hers.
    This video is a redo of an older song, done in order to showcase Vlad on drums, as he had joined not long before this. Vlad is classically trained on piano, and self taught on drums. He, Roman (guitar), and Eugene(bass) are all awesome musicians, they write the music and then hand it off to Tati to write lyrics. Though Eugene did help her finish the lyrics on this one, both are Pisces. And yes the song has to do with the astrological sign. Most reactors want to see her do it live next, "Perennial" at Wacken 2019 or "Pit of Consciousness" live in Kiev are recommended for that. "Home Back" is about the fighting in their homeland in 2014. From the most recent album, "Vortex" and the title track "Wallflowers".
