I had a feeling that you would do this wonderful tribute to your friend, you did him proud. Thank you 🙏
Thank you very much!
I'm sitting here with my 18 month old great grandson in my lap, and he's spellbound and bobbing his head to the uptempo stuff. My finger-pickin' heart overfloweth.
The music in Heaven is now even better. Amen
It's not always about being "deserving" but about God's blessings.
Beautiful tribute. Thank you for sharing wonderful memories and awesome music!
Thanks for listening
What a wonderful heartfelt inspiring tribute you've presented to us for your late friend Duane Eddy, not only are you a gifted 'muso' but an inspirational Christian, I thank you for those very personal reminiscent memories along with the style of Duane's distinctive melodies & picking. Thank you once again Doyle, very much appreciated & God Bless you & your family & friends.
This is a lovely tribute Doyle. I couldn’t think of anyone more fitting to pay tribute to Duane. God bless.
Doyle - whatever you play puts a big smile on my face. A Doyle video is like a sunny day.
Great tribute Doyle. So sorry to hear about Duane. Praying for family and friends.
Bro Doyle… love this tribute… it’s hard to lose good friends praying for you and Duane’s family… God’s blessings my friend😊
An elegant heart-felt tribute to Mr. Eddy.
All guitar enthusiasts have lost a great friend. R.I.P. Duane Eddy ua-cam.com/video/EagzyK8s9CI/v-deo.html *LOST FRIEND* Duane Eddy Guitar cover
Thank you !
I saw that show with you and Chet and Duane and that was the first time I ever heard you play and when you played Jazz in a box it was amazing to me. The string bend at the head stock really caught my eye. I have been listening to you ever since that day. I think you have did a great job remembering Duane I loved his music to . He definitely has his own sound
I love you Doyle. God has blessed you with so many friends and among them are all of us who watch and pray with you so often. Thanks for this wonderful telling of your friendship with one of the greats!
Thank you so much.
Very very cool!!!!!!!!!
Man, you are one special person! Thank you for your talent tonight!!!
Great tribute Doyle. I enjoyed it greatly. I was born in 1950 and grew up loving his music. It’s funny. I started learning to play guitar in 2018 after I retired. Determine to learn how to play fingerstyle, one of the first people I ran across on UA-cam was you! I was overjoyed to meet you at a church in Bonham, Texas where my old high school class mate Eddie Prince is the pastor. I felt much the same meeting you as you felt meeting Dwayne! 😂😂 Love your playing and admire your character. I watch your Sunday Morning String Along every Sunday morning. God bless. 🙏🙏
Thanks Dan… great hearing from you
I just had to come back and watch this video a second time, lol. You are truly one of the greatest guitar players and entertainers ever. I always enjoy your videos and great music. Many many thumbs up here. God bless you always.
Wow, thanks!
What a wonderful tribute to your friend, Duane Eddy! Thanks for sharing so many wonderful songs and fond memories of Duane. Praying for Duane’s and your families.
Great video I saw you play on tv in the early 1990s Like video.
I believe the first time I heard you play Doyle was on an early morning Breakfast Television broadcast in Halifax Nova Scotia Canada. That was sometime in the 90s. You were at the Music Stop store and it was broadcast live from the store and you played Wabash Cannonball and my jaw dropped. I believe you were there doing a clinic for Taylor guitars. You were playing your black Taylor.
I recorded it on VHS tape and since transferred it to DVD. The sound was distorted but it didn’t distract from your performance. I’m glad I kept it. Of course I followed your music ever since.
I would love it if you could play Wabash Cannonball on one of your future String-Along episodes. God bless.
Superb from start to finish.
Great job as always! Thankyou for sharing!
Thanks for the wonderful tribute to my second favorite guitar player, by my favorite guitar player. I loved Duane's music. I love the video on UA-cam with Duane playing and Deed singing "Son of a Guitar Man".
A lovely tribute to a legend! ❤
I still love it.
Mercy!🙏🙏❤️❤️🇺🇸
Once again I am fortunate to see and hear your playing and your personal stories. Thanks for sharing
I met you at Music Villa in Bozeman Montana back in 2019. Ren was there and it was wonderful!!
I believe that night Dwayne, Chet, and you played “I Saw the Light “ was the 1st time I saw and heard you play! Not long before that I saw Tommy Jones on Nashville Now which started me down the finger picking rabbit hole but your performance on the opry that night sent to me deep down that hole. It’s been a wonderful journey.
Wonderful!
Love you DD
When you can...
Please read my comment from the last SSAL 2 days ago. You'll enjoy it a lot.

Well, my brother, how nice of you to pop in unexpectedly! You are always welcome in my home.
You have been blessed with some incredible close friends, and you have lost so many of them the last couple of years.
Thank you for your wonderful tribute. All the best. Rainer
Thank you too
Wow Doyle what a tribute that was simply awesome thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great tribute to my first guitar hero....Mr. Duane Eddy. Folks in and around the Nashville music community probably knew that Duane was ill, but I had no clue. Being my hero, I thought he would never die.
When you think of Duane Eddy, you kind of automatically think of Rebel Rouser, Cannonball, Ramrod, The Lonely One, etc etc. but my favorite tunes were primarily album cuts that never received air play. And he had alot of them !! No one ever made a Gretsch, (not my favorite sounding guitar), sound so huge and powerful. And he could make a Dano positively growl !! Thanks to Spotify, I can listen to Duane's guitar sing while driving. RIP Duane Eddy. 🙏
Had the Music Man 210......and still have the 115 -65........
Growing up in the '60s, loved Duane Eddy . . . yup, did many "40 miles of Bad Road" . . . tks for the tribute 😎 👍 . . .
Great tribute

I was thinking you'd do a tribute. I was amazed sometime back to learn that he played on Rock n Roll Lullaby:
Duane Eddy plays lead guitar in his signature "twangy" style on "Rock and Roll Lullaby", along with Al Gorgoni on distorted and clean electric guitar. Steve Tyrell and B.J. Thomas recorded the song in 1962 while on the same local label. Tyrell suggested getting Eddy to play a guitar solo after listening to the basic track and imagining a collage of old sounds.
Wow. How interesting!
Thank you for the video.
Wow so cool Doyle
Awesome
Great guitar player you are!
Thank you kindly!
@@doyledykesmusic Watched you my whole life from hehaw and grandpa jones. Your style is definitely influenced by chet. Enjoyed the duane eddy tribute. He among others in that late 50s time period influenced all modern playing. The first song with distortion was a marty robbin’s song!
@@doyledykesmusic my pleasure! I have played and collected guitars my whole life! It is a passion. Also the fact you never hide who you are stands out to me! witness and testimony in every video!
Grazie 🇮🇹
At the 43:45 mark Doyle plays the "Our Father" -- like no other virtuoso guitarist ever has. As a culmination of his deeply personal appreciation of a dear old friend Duane Eddy, the iconic rock guitarist who left us April 30 at age 86. Deepest thanks for your "Tribute" show, Mr. Dykes. On a personal note, my favorite composer Richard Rodgers composed the song LOVER, which he intended to be played waltz tempo. But like Peggy Lee, Duane Eddy took it at a more exhiliarating pace; The variety of techniques, including hammer-ons, and fast shaded flurries of strummed notes climax with a sort of tribute to Les Paul and George Barnes -- Duane's ideas on multi-track high speed recording he otherwise never employed. So happy he did it all -- if only once -- on "LOVER." Elsewhere here on UA-cam ua-cam.com/video/EfRDkaaUL14/v-deo.html
Gretsch..........Brooklyn, USA...!
Wow! The MM 15” was actually a gift from Kelly Barber… he wouldn’t let me pay for it.
I love your playing I was gonna ask for a picture of you I told you I know jr knight
25:31 Was the ear damage permanent D?
Hmm, the Guild guitar doesn't sound great. Should have used your Gretsch.
