    I just love how you just jump in there and aren't afraid to do what your heart desires. I got my soldering iron and all the stuff to make something, but then life happened. It has been a rough few months and many more to come in the future. I hope one day to get to try, because I just love this type of art. Thank you for your inspiration!

      I am so sorry. Please stay strong. I know how though things can get. I had a very shitty spring summer and half of the fall last year. So I didn’t produce anything, no art, no sewing, no soldering, no videos. I was so anxious and depressed that I could not bring myself up to create. And it’s strange because that’s what heals me usually.
      So I am with you, please let me know if you need anything. And if you can still try to do what you love. It will help to break thru what you are going thru faster. I know it’s super difficult to create when you are going thru something, but if you can try. Even if it’s 5 min a day. Try to give this little window to yourself. It will help you heal and heal the citation.
      Sending my love and support ✨💖

    Thank you so much for this tutorial!
    I have tried to do the same with my stones but they don't stick together.
    Could you help me with advice?🌸😊

    • @eugeniaedits

      Hi! Yes! So it could be the stone you are trying to set has some oil/mineral dust etc - so try wiping it with alcohol before adding copper tape.
      Second reason, your iron might be too hot so it's melting the glue in the copper tape to the points it's loosing it's tackiness. So try lowering the temperature.
      Third reason could be copper tape is not pressed hard enough. Another reason it could be that the stone is too porous and it's not letting tape adhere properly.
      Whats stone are you using? :)

    Hey! Love your jewellery and your relaxed style! ❤ do you think that 925 silver solder works the same? As in can be melted and then used to make all these things you make? What would u use instead of the copper sheet or does it adhere to it as well? X

    • @eugeniaedits
      @eugeniaedits  Рік тому +1

      Hi! Thank you! So silver has a much higher melting point that what soldering iron can give. So for silver working you would need to use butain torch. And that is whole other level of silversmithing that I have yet to dab as I am so intimidated. But! If you want to work with silver you can totally learn it. In re to copper tape, you wont need any of of if you are melting silver using a torch. It will set and adhere on its own. I hope this helps!🥰

      @@eugeniaedits thanks so much hun for your reply! I started reading more about all sorts of different metals and yes, now I understand how silver behaves. You would be an amazing silversmith yourself! I feel there is so much for you to explore, I love this for you! 💕 also, u mentioned you make kimonos? Do you have a vid on that? If so, pls can u link it? X

    Hey! Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I tried iron soldering and I'm curious if the copper tape is sticky enough to hold some mineral stone if I'm gonna stick it only to edges like around the mineral?

    • @eugeniaedits
      @eugeniaedits  4 місяці тому

      Hi! Thank you! Just try to use alcohol to degrease before you apply copper tape. Some minerals are too porous and are not easy to stick a tape to, so it depends on the crystal you are using. But alcohol helps and burnishing really well helps as well. ❤️

    I need suggestions on how to get the ring base to adhere to the coral piece. Mine won’t stick. 😢

    • @eugeniaedits
      @eugeniaedits  Рік тому +1

      Hi Lois! It could be that the surface of the coral needs to be degreased. Just use a little bit of alcohol to wipe it before applying copper tape. This is my suggestion number one.
      It’s also possible that coral that you’re using is covered with some kind of wax that when heating up gets in between copper tape and coral. Sometimes that happens with other materials. I once worked with a smoked quarts, and somehow it was coated. So I would wash coral with soap and water let it dry, and then wipe it with alcohol.
      Another suggestion would be after you did those steps is you could lightly sand down the side of a coral you’re taping. This would definitely help with adhesion.
      These are my troubleshooting tips ♥️ Please let me know if this helps.🫶🫶😘

    Hi! I recently started soft soldering but I'm running into a bit of a problem... once my solder solidifies, it loses its shine and becomes dull/matte in texture?? I hate the way it looks and I don't know how to get rid of it. I use lead free solder. Could I be doing something wrong? Would love to hear your advice!!

    • @eugeniaedits
      @eugeniaedits  10 місяців тому

      Hi! So I think you might be using too hot of a temperature. It could get dull if it’s too hot. I would also look at flux. Flux and solder that I use stay shiny even at the hottest setting.
      Another way of solving it would be using some sandpaper or Dremel but please make sure to wear a mask and do it outside because you don’t want to be inhaling metal dust. Once you would take off first layer of sorter, you would be able to polish it, and bring back the shininess. But definitely try lowering temperature first. If you still have questions and and I’m not responding. It’s because UA-cam does not notify me of threads so just start a new comment and I will see it and will respond.♥️♥️🥰🥰🥰

    If you want silver that doesn’t tarnish use Argentium silver it’s stronger than fine silver and has less copper than sterling silver

    • @eugeniaedits
      @eugeniaedits  Рік тому +1

      Thank you! Would that work for soft soldering? Or it needs a torch?
