Right on, Brent! You hit the nail on the head with everything. I appreciate you talking about it. The channels you mentioned are all great dudes, I’m happy to call a lot of them friends. Thanks for mentioning me among them 👊
Hi Brent, that was an awesome VR. You made some valid points about the issues in the hobby. The UA-cam community is great, and I have to admit, I really enjoy watching the content that everyone puts out. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Great thoughts Brent. You make good points and all effect the hobby of collecting in one way or another. Baseball use to be the main sport and kids fell in love with it. Today there are many other interests taking away from baseball and more specifically collecting. There may not be a quick fix but MLB needs to find a way to make Baseball great again and it doesn't have anything to do with their selling more stuff at a much higher price. The players also have something to do with this. They have to play the game as the old veterans did who played for the love of the game, not money.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Brent, and you make a lot of fair points, I think the hobby, is as great as we choose to make it. I agree and resonate with the enjoyment part as well. My Dad was a collector back in the day, and passed it down to me. A lot of parts, which you mention of, the hobby as changed also. With the grading. The ''thrill of the chase'' for 1/1 cards, or low numbered cards, etc. I do wonder, if current but, also future collectors will ever appreciate collecting, just for the sake of collecting. But I think, it may be dwindling down, and I do have some legit concerns, that the hobby will further turn into a money laundry scheme, which is probably why some collectors don't love or trust grading. Turning cardboard into cash. We'll see what happens I guess.
Brent! Dude, thank you so much for the shoutout and kind words. Getting a chance to connect with you on UA-cam is a blessing, my friend. You’re a great guy and I love your passion for cards and the game. You care more about the memories than prices. That’s what the hobby and life are all about! Thanks again and have a fantastic day!
Agree that free agency is a huge contributor to lack of interest in today’s game. Player and team loyalty are a mere shell of what used to be. Very sad to me and de-motivating to watch or collect anything that’s modern.
Watching sports in general is scripted and so is buying hobby boxes after being CT scanned plus sending in hundreds of cards to be graded a 10, that too is scripted. My childhood WAS playing videogames before buying sports cards.
Brent, thank you for your kind words, my collecting brother! Heck ya, let's have fun with our hobby! 😊👊

Loyalty is one major reason I collect Dirk Nowitzki. He gave my city 21 of his best years. He gave his heart and soul. I love collecting his stuff 💯

Here's one, the term ( Junk Wax ) will be baned in the hobby, no longer politically correct
