The logs are supposed to be christian crosses, but because they were in Tel Aviv they couldn't have them, so they replaced them with logs. It's actually a remake of a live performance from like '90 or so, found it somewhere on the web back in the days, that one actually was lit.

BTW, in a documentary about the making of this Eurovision, one of the production team members confirmed that Madonna used an autotune that was not tuned correctly. She brought her own sound team so she couldn't blame it on the Eurovision production. "We were so lucky that this was her own team that f*cked it up and not us"

About the autotune: Eurovision is a song contest where all the contestants must sing without autotune or special effectson the microphone itself. So it's only fair that other performers on the night do the same., and if they can't, they don't belong on stage there imo.
Well, Madonna was not a contestant.
Contestants yes. But side performers / interval acts don't have rules like that to follow. Just look at this and Justin Timberlake's performance. Both went well over the six allowed performers. These acts are about keeping the audience entertained while the voting goes on and is counted.

It's true but many of them actually use some voice effects such echo or else, for example Loreen's performance in Euphoria, her voice is so echoing, but she was 100% live, maybe the echo effect suited the song, i'm not sure but autotune is a big no in Eurovision

My guess is she had a sore throat and her vocal cords just weren’t doing what she expected of them, plus she’s neglected her voice.
The world pride performance and Live Earth performances show that Madonna live is consistently pitchy, but normally in tune when she’s still. She’s 60 now and perhaps she needs some coaching to relearn how to use her voice in the condition it is NOW.
Remember she have us amazing vocals on tracks like Frozen and Ray Of Light - she has it in her, it’s just rusty!

Guys, the auto tune was set to the wrong key or scale. If you’re familiar with the plug in you’ll know what I mean. Sounds like the wrong scale. So some of the notes are there and then the very next note is Completely out of key. I can’t believe somebody didn’t just switch it on the fly. Like wtf

I’m 1 of the biggest Madonna fans there is & I’ve been to every Madonna Tour & this wasn’t good but this is amazing compared to her 1998 MTV performance of "Shanti/Ashtangi" "Ray of Light" that performance is really really bad & when she toured 3 years later on her Drowned World Tour 2001 she lowered the Octave on frozen on her DWT & I’m glad she did because in concert she sounded amazing singing Frozen & Like A Prayer on all her tours from 2001 through 2019 when she toured last with her Madame X Tour.
i remember the german commentator complaining shortly before her performance that every time she rehearsed everyone had to stop whatever they were working on at that moment to leave the building basically disrupting the entire preparations for the esc. gand then in turned out so bad.

Madonna herself has said that she's not a good live performer - Her and her team are great at getting their hands on/creating absolutely amazing/fun music though, and she knows how to hype a crowd up - music videos are always amazing and weird - clothes are always crazy yet the talk of the town.
She's not a good live singer...but she is an amazing performer. She puts on a great show - people who pay to see her live do it knowing that, yeah, the notes might not be on point, but the *show* will be legendary.

Sami O She may not be a good live singer these days due to age and clearly not practicing enough. However, back in the day her voice was good. Her voice may not have been outstanding but she would still manage to hit most of the notes while keeping up the choreography for hours. Madonna has a unique and emotional voice. For decades, she has been strongly criticized for her singing voice not being perfect and in the end she just doesn’t seem to care anymore which is a shame.
I mean, she's not a *great* live singer, but she is in her 60s lol. Every now and then she surprises us with a pretty good vocal performance. But did people forget the whole Ray of Light era? Her live vocals then were amazing. I'd say 1998-2012 is peak Madonna vocal wise

But, she never could really sing. This isn't her only "oh my god my ears" performance in her life. What made her great were the songs and live shows, not her voice talent. She's always had terrible range, poor ability to hold a note more than 2 seconds, and frequently sang flat.
That just shows how uneducated you are about her voice. Everything you just said comes from a hateful mind.
To say she could never really sing is an inaccurate statement to make. Yes, she has had her fair share of bad moments, everyone does. But she also has more than her share of good ones. She did excellent on the Rebel Heart Tour (look up the Dress You Up/Into the Groove/Lucky Star/Everybody medley), citing a more recent example. For an old example, watch her 1982 performance of Everybody at the Dancereria. Or just listen to her old recordings - pitch correction didn’t exist back then so how someone sounded on record was how they were actually singing it back then.
@@ArtistsCry13 she has never been the best vocalist. Gaga, Beyoncé, adele or Ariana grande are far better singers. Madonna is known for having incredible shows, but not an incredible voice

He probably meant recently, but yeah she did practice recent before that performance since family and jury shows are just like the real show. Besides Norway had a technical problem during thd jury show and weren't allowed to perform again so that Madonna didn't have to wait.

Eurovision does not allow autotune. Every performance must be live. She did use autotune on her second song which is bad because no other singer did.

I was about to get mad at u for supporting auto tune for celebrities but I totally agree that if you can’t sing it, use auto tune or just don’t sing it!
Honestly I feel like with Madonna is she is a great performer with great ideas. But she's not the best vocalist (especially with her getting older) and as she gets older she's not as smooth with her movements anymore. I still respect her though.
I just love how he's like smiling and saying that that first part was epic, and then Madonna starts singing and his face just starts changing, it's just so funny
