Are these the same basics used in drug tests for roadside drug testing? In Australia we have amphetamine and cannabis tests that use an oral sample of saliva, I think they show 1 or 2 lines for positive/negative tests, but I’ve never had to perform one so I don’t know how much saliva is required 🤔
Roadside saliva tests are based on the ELISA protocol.Esentially there is a molecule engineered to give a certain signal, i don't know about the lines but when electronic sample analyzer is used the combination of the drug metabolite and engineered molecule gives a brand new compound which is luminescent (not detectable by eyesight, but by the machine).Anyways, I have developed a method to invalidate these tests together with a colleague, using a simple spray bottle containing the solution and spraying in the mouth it is effective for up to 1h and gives false negative, even if metabolites are present.
@ the roadside tests aren’t electronic? I think ur talking about alcohol roadside tests? I’m talking about ones we have for cannabis and amphetamines, (they have 2 separate strips on a plastic device that I think contains paper like these test strips) maybe I’m misunderstanding u tho 😊 I don’t need to avoid detection because I don’t drink or do any drugs other than my prescription meds, I think all Australian roadside tests from breathalysers to the drug tests still require a lab to verify before they can do more that prevent u driving for 24 hours 🤔
