I got a 96 4runner that I got for $4500 back in 2018. She currently has 296k miles on the clock. Head gasket failed recently. This yota has taken me to almost every state in the western US. To be continued.
@@ClarksChaosGarage Oh yeah, External Trans Cooler is the way to go for sure. Just eliminate the chance of radiator failure all together plus its only gonna help the truck. Not sure why more people dont go this route
Good deal Clark. I too recently picked up a 2000 4runner limited 2wd. You didn't mention the mileage on yours. Great project, looking forward to seeing your progress.
Thanks Chris, it has 300k, so kind of high, but I figure if I treat it right, I should be able to get some more. Thanks for following! looking forward to your comments.
Hello, "Clark's Chaos Garage" I was analyzing your channel and saw that in your channel have some problem, That's why your channel is not much growing and not getting much engagement, If you can solve these problems, Your channel will grow like a storm. that's awesome man! I love the story, I'm hoping to have some of my own in this one!
I recommend changing the LBJs and radiator as soon as possible. Number one issues with 3rd gens. Id do it every 100k miles.
thanks for the suggestion! my LBJ's look horrible, I have them in my shop ready to go! I think I'll add an external transmission cooler as well

That's what I was thinking. Plus if I have some longer uphill crawls, it'll be really good to have it's own cooler

$3500 for a 99/00 4wd 4runner with a rear locker and no frame rust is a real find these days.
Thanks! I was pretty excited about it! It needs a lot of love, but I think it's worth it!
It has 307,616 miles
is that what yours currently has?
