I actually love this kind of look in general and I'm working on getting all my clothes to be natural clothing and historical/fantasy based. I personally aim for hobbit rather than elf (I'm short and round). For someone my size (I'm bigger than you), it's a *lot* more flattering to wear these sorts of clothes compared to modern clothing. And in my personal opinion, corsets/stays are *much* more supportive, both for the bust and for the torso as a whole. Not to mention, if you're wearing these clothes, it's actually a lot more comfortable than most modern clothing in a lot of weather. The layering keeps the sun off your skin and with the chemise underneath, you don't have the cloth that is absorbing the heat right on your skin either. I will say that using natural fibers is *incredibly* important, especially in the summer, since polyester is basically plastic and will absolutely hold in all the heat and make you *miserable*. Sorry for the rant, heh, this is one of my special interests. I hope you keep doing videos like this! You look fantastic and this was very helpful for layering and looking great!
Yes to a lookbook ❤ any tips to keep the cloak ribbon from choking you? 😅 I got a Costurero Real cloak last week, and the velvet is so pretty, but very heavy
I think I've got a possible solution for the choking: 1) Wear a "penannular" pin or brooch to close the cloak lower on the chest (can leave noticeable holes in light/thin fabrics) 2) Secure the cloak with two thinner brooches or hidden safety pins to anchor points spaced further out to your shoulders, making sure to pin the cloak to the next layer beneath I usually use option 1 for my wool wraps, but option 2 is better for thinner fabrics that you don't want to damage. I've found that anchoring w/ #2 is also best for keeping the cloak from shifting around too much during extended wear.
