I do wish people would give Peter more credit for these songs... he orchestrated lots of it during the early years of the band
Man, something was in the air in the 60s. The nascent spirit of the new times
Most definitely there was "something " in the air in the 60's 😮😅
@@andrewrock7409😆 Good one 🤙🏾
There was definitely a little something sumthin in the air alright!
Something very different to whatever’s in the air nowadays, that’s for sure!
The natural mystic, the news from the whispering trees , the time when men must be free
This is not Bob Marley and the wailers. This is THE WAILERS!!!
Why can’t I find this album anymore on Apple Music etc

One love and rock steady
So much better than the commercial stuff in the 70s. And so much better to hear those three voices in perfect harmony. The original Wailers were the real deal.
OK 👍
what
Commercial mean its worth buying. And Marley sold big. Still selling
I didn't realise "Don't Rock My Boat" was as old it is. Certainly gone through a whole lot of evolution to become "Satisfy My Soul".
J'aime beaucoup Bob Marley...
So many of the well known songs started off in ska or rocksteady style.
yes, that was my reaction to "Bend Down Low" , too.
also "stir it up" was a simple rocksteady, then morphed into slower reggae
Yeah the Kaya LP ruined a lot of great Marley classics 😂
Time capsule that will be open forever
Easily one of the best Bob Marley's playlist ever❤
That is an excellent excellent, excellent tracklist.
This is not bob Marley 🤔
I remember driving around town in an old car. Had some of these songs on tape. I have always been in love with the sounds. Tonight, Im older, sitting in my home and I feel like flying. Havent heard this in ages. Just pure joy. Again. So many thanks for your video. Bless😊🙏🌹

Almost only Masterpieces. Will be listned to in 500 years
Music for the soul, for ever loving Jah. Jah bless their souls
I would like to give thanks to Mr Blackwell for his contribution in recognizing the potential of Jamaican music, as a Jamaican I am proud of my fellow artist for their contributions big up Millie Small 🎉
It would've been cool if the movie depicted Marley's rocksteady years.
Or a TV program
Movie wasnt it man, true fans know
Wailers Wailing Harmoniously.
This is the best medicine right now! Thanks so much!
True!!!!!!!!
Wow so beautiful 🎉I love Bob's old music and the Wailers
Incorruptible just overflowing with live and spirit.
YAH ❤️
I grew up listening to my Dad's oldies and so the old Bob Marley stuff is some of my favorite. I love the old 60's sound. Makes me feel nostalgic and homey. The harmonizing and the low fi sound puts me in such a happy place.
Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Bunny Livingstone, Beverly Kelso e Cherry Smith
Classical reggae 🟩🟨🟥
The greatest song group of all time.
By far!!!!!!!!
Although I agree with you on a personal level, one could argue the beatles too. Bob said that it was a huge source of inspiration for him bacj in the 60's. he said this in an interview in September 1980 in a radio interview a few days before he collapsed in Central Park. Bob was able to master music at a level few can claim. he only did great albums and timeless songs
Yow I have a feeling that the first time is the only time.To me it is more, all I need is to really get all my satisfaction that I need to get my fears together what after is commercials on the TV
50+ Years later. 2024. ❤💛💚Beautiful. Not old enough to know it the first time around but super happy that this is still available for the new generation.
Every bit of this speaks to me.
OMG. This year marks my 50th year as a Bob fan, I thought I'd heard (and own) every BM&W song - but there are 12 on here I've never heard before! This is ten christmases and birthdays rolled into one 😁 Just can't sop playing "Funeral"...OMG those rock steady rhythms...Bob is the gift that keeps on giving - THANK YOU!!
50 years without ever digging a bit beneath the surface where surface stands for Chris Blackwell?! :D Wow man! Anyway, I agree Funeral AKA Burial is something else, way waaaay better than what Peter Tosh released later as Burial in one of his solo albums. Nuff respect to Peter Bunny and Bob, the original Wailers
@@alexpugno7596 always preferred Bunny's version of Burial over Tosh's
On my shopping list right now! Love this 💕 ... Tosh singing funeral 'and Stepping Razor 🥰 wonderful. This is a hit album !! Yeah ma'n 🌴🌴🌴🌴💕🙏 2023
Wah la claque !
C'est des bon ces petits jeunes !
Yeah... Young and devoted!
They already had many great songs.. When Bob played his songs for a guy from a label outside of Jamaica, the guy said Bob played him around 200 smash hits, and he knew he had to sign him immediately cause he saw that Bob and the Wailers were going to be big all over the world!
#3 and #7. Boom 💥
Einfach wunderbar diese Musik. Grüsse von Deutschland

Dia grás de'n a anam dílis. This is beautiful, reminds me to think of Rónan Mac Aodha bhui from Tír Conaill who was a great listener to all music but also big time fan of the Reggae/rocksteady whatever you want to call it , music for our souls!, Rest in Peace a chara...God Bless everyone with Peace and Love, we have so much trouble in the world still sadly
.
PETER TOSH WAS THE ONE THAT WAS PLAYING THE GUITAR IN THE YOUNG GROUP.
I'm listening for the pleasure of hearing Peter play and sing. He was co writer of the songs and some of these are his compositions, like Funeral, Stepping Razor & Them A Fi Get A Beating.
Peter was a genius, far ahead of his time. RIP.
O
@@ciskaschenk actually Joe higgs wrote Stepping Razor but Peter Tosh certainly embodied the song and made it his own. After hearing the Equal Rights version for the past 40 years I'm glad to find this now and I think I like it better than the original. Rita Marley's haunting vocals on the chorus and that saxophone take this other level!!
@@ciskaschenkalso Bunny wrote Funeral but nevertheless, Peter was a great writer, arranger, musician, singer and harmonizer.
Deep rarities! 🔥🔥🔥👏🏾👏🏾❤👏🏾👏🏾🔥🔥🔥
Acá en Argentina escuchando con mi hermano ésta maravilla

Thank you JAH for this great gift from Sardegna! IRIE ITES
Thank you for uploading these original recordings! ❤️💛💚
I sat and listened to this entire album in one go.. so soulful. Wow
After Catch a fire one of my most favourite. So much soul!
These songs are nice, melodic/ meelodious and are revolutional. I never knew that rocksteady started in 1968.
1966 :) ... The rocksteady era/ output relates to 1966 and 1967 when the music slowed down from ska. In 1968 you get the new rhythm i.e. early reggae (somewhat similar to mento in its first outputs) with tunes like Do the reggay by the Maytals
❤😎🎶🏆
THIS IS ON REPLAY.....ALL DAY

Bend down low, let me tell you what I know now;
Bend down low, let me tell you what I know.
Oh! Fisherman row to reap what you sow now;
Oh, tell you all I know (Oo-oh!),
you've got to let me go now (Oo-oh!),
And all you've got to do:
(Bend down low) Oh yeah! Let me tell you what I know;
Bend down low, let me tell you what I know. Oh yeah!
You keep on knockin', but you can't come in.
I get to understand you been livin' in sin,
But if you love me, woman, walk right in.
I've got a notch for your safety-pin,
But bend down low.
[Instrumental break]
Keep on knockin', but you can't come in.
I get to understand you been livin' in sin,
But walk right in, woman, sit right down.
I will keep on lovin' you; I play the clown.
But bend down low, baby, let me tell you what I know;
Bend down low, let me tell you what I know, yeah!
Let me tell you, baby! Let me tell ya -
Knock on, babe! Just won't let ya in!
You been livin' in sin. Knock on! [fadeout
