    1. 0:36 {Should we “Apply” the Blood of Jesus?} Someone recently told me to always "apply the blood of Jesus" over my family, my home, myself, and everything that belongs to me before I pray, since there is spiritual warfare going on. Have you heard of this, and what are your thoughts?
    2. 5:44 {About the Curse in 2 Kings} How should we explain 2 Kings 2: 23-25? I had somebody bring it up to me and was unsure of how to answer them. On the surface, it seems problematic. What can I say to them?
    3. 11:10 {A Godly Attitude for Workplace Struggles} My parents think Christians shouldn’t unionize or strike, and should just do what they’re told or go elsewhere, citing the Parable of the Vineyard. But that sounds crazy to me. What should a Christian attitude be to workplace struggles?
    4. 15:46 {About “Leaven,” Destruction, & Revelation} Any thoughts on using Matthew 13: 33 to prove that people inside the faithful church will try to destroy it (saying that yeast is bad and the woman Jesus referred to is the same as in Revelation)?
    5. 18:52 {About Being Alive in Christ/Future Resurrection} Please explain John 11: 25-26, how the first person became dead but believed and the second person being a believer never dies.
    6. 23:05 {Thoughts about Steven Crowder} What is your opinion on Christian UA-camr Steven Crowder? A lot of his content (while in the name of comedy and free speech) is quite vulgar and feels insensitive. Is his method biblical?
    7. {Accidentally skipped - sorry about that!}
    8. 24:42 {Why did People Fall Over in John 18?} My question is about John 18:6. It’s a really powerful moment, but did the other disciples not see it?
    9. 30:36 {Repentance of the Heart & Mind} I am a former crossdresser (not transgender), but I don't feel any guilt or remorse for when I used to cross-dress. Any advice on how to not just repent with my actions, but also repent with my mind/heart?
    10. 35:08 {Is Marriage Different Now?} My friend says the definition of marriage evolved over time, and that now it’s a legal contract, but in biblical times she claims it was a social transfer of care. Thus, she believes living with her boyfriend unmarried is biblical. Thoughts?
    11. 39:29 {About Sin and our Flesh} Does Romans 7: 24 suggest that sin is in our flesh? Is this the reason why some people may be predisposed to certain sinful behaviors?
    12. 43:29 {Is Jesus Finite or Infinite?} Jesus said, "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end" (Revelation 22: 13 ESV). Does this mean God the Son is finite? Is He saying Jesus, fully man, is finite?
    13. 46:19 {Why does God Allow More Wicked Generations?} Why does God allow wicked people to persist and bring forth more generations that will mostly go to Hell, instead of bringing judgment on them and erasing their culture as soon as they go astray?
    14. 51:00 {Help with Doubts & Unbelief} How do you stop doubting that God exists or that Christianity is the true religion out of many, especially Islam? Sometimes my faith wanders from belief to unbelief. Any tips?
    15. 54:44 {Why was Jesus Given Sedatives?} Why would the Roman soldiers try to give Jesus the wine and myrrh (which I understand to be a sedative)? Wouldn’t they want the crucifixion to be as painful as possible?
    16. 55:32 {Are Prayers from Books Spells?} Could prayers from prayer books be considered spells?
    17. 57:04 {Should a Protestant Marry a Catholic?} What do I do if I'm thinking about marrying a Catholic girl, myself being Protestant? She has no problems with my faith but wants our sons baptized, since she and her whole family is Catholic.
    18. 59:43 {About Theophanies & Christophanies} Would you say that every theophany is a Christophany? (John 1: 17-18, Jude 1:5, John 8: 58, Matthew 11: 27, 1 Timothy 2:5)
    19. 1:01:36 {How to Increase Our Affection for God} 1 Corinthians 16: 22 implies we can't be saved if we don't love God, as I don't know how you can be saved and cursed at the same time. What advice would you give to someone who lacks affection for God?
    20. 1:06:02 {Was it Right for Rahab to Lie?} Hebrews 11: 31 says that Rahab's faith saved her. Yet Joshua 2:4-6 shows Rahab lying about the Israelite spies. Romans 3:7-8 condemns good from evil. How do we reconcile this, Pastor Mike?

Hey Mike! Grew up in a Catholic household that went generations back. My husband was Protestant. Our first two daughters were baptized and I insisted we get married in the Catholic church I grew up in. God is big and delivered me! It did not get worse for us and I hope our story can bring another perspective to the gentleman asking about marrying a Catholic. Prayers!

1:06 there are other situations where because of someone's sin, another person is forced to sin. I know a child with divorced parents and parent A told the child they were very upset when the child saw the other parent, and became moody when they did. They also encouraged their child to be honest.
So the child wanted to see Parent B and did so without telling Parent A. When Parent A found out, they accused child of deception.
Parent A effectively forced child to be deceptive. So the sin was not the deception, but the manipulation. I think. Like with Rahab and Corrie ten Boom

Jordan Peterson had some advice for people living together where the girl wants to get married but the guy thinks it’s “just a piece of paper.”
Jordan said if it’s just a piece of paper then why not just get married to make her happy? It’s because you know it’s not just a piece of paper. It is you promising before earthly and heavenly authorities that you won’t abandon her when times get tough. By living with her you are saying you like her for now but want to keep your options open.
People know that is true but they just don’t want to acknowledge it.

I believe prayer isn't studied enough but this scripture may change the way some people view prayer as it changed my prayer life. Psalm 103:20 "Bless the LORD, you His angels, Who excel in strength, who do His word, Heeding the voice of His word". Word is referring to God's word (scriptures) when God hears his word (scriptures) repeated back to him when you pray (talk) to God, he sends his angels out to do their work. Before I pray I always give thanks as it is written in this scripture. Psalm 100: 4 "Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name". Your prayer life is between you and God. When we pray we must go through the Jesus. John 14:6 "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me". I disagree with Mike about the use of words. God gave Adam his voice and he named all the animals. Words are powerful and we were made in God's image. The FIRST thing God did was SPEAK in Genesis 1:3 "Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light". 26.Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have "dominion" over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over [g]all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth". God owns the earth but we have dominion/rulership over it and after the fall of man (sin) tending/ruling the earth became difficult as earth was supposed to run like heaven. It written in Matthew 6:10 "your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven". If we are made in the image of God and Christ, the anointing dwells within us, we are part spirt being. There is power in words. This is why I am careful about what I say and how I pray.

We have a rare male calico and 2 females. The male wakes my husband up every morning at 3:00am to feed the ladies. He's not ready to eat, he just knows it's his job to get my husband to feed the girls. He begins by jumping on the bed and pawing him. He then moves to the bedside table and pushing things off until he gets up. Today, one of the girls pushed her mousie toy under a door into a closet. Capt. Fishipants sauntered over and began meowing and pawing the door until I got up and opened it. He then walked away and let her get her mousie toy. They have such wonderful personalities.

I had not thought of this before you said it, but sacrifice in general is voodoo-like.
Jesus said that sacrifice does not purify us. He said our forgiveness does. When you repent, you are forgiving yourself. The word "metanoia." is used in the New Testament.
Matt 12.7 If you had known what these words mean, “I desire mercy, not sacrifice,” you would not have condemned the innocent

Glad I was able to hear about the “blood of of Jesus” question. I was raised Catholic and when I left the church at 20 years old, I church hopped trying to find what direction I was supposed to head in. A common theme was this “I claim it in the blood of Jesus” and other resembling statements. I was so confused as to why I never felt right saying it. It always seemed overly charismatic and wrong. I’m happy that I never took to doing it over time.

I grew up with my family saying things like “la sangre de cristo” and praying the blood of Jesus. And the way I saw it is it’s not a literal applying the blood but just praying for Gods protection over us, and remembering the sacrifice that Jesus did. And remembering that He is all sufficient and He has power over all forces of evil. I saw it more as a spiritual covering. My mom would pray over me and say that and pray Gods protection over me. I didn’t think it “saved” me it was just more like a spiritual protection prayer. I agree it’s simply a tradition and maybe not biblical, but it’s like that song “nothing but the blood of Jesus”, it was a reminder that his blood makes us white as snow, it washes away our sin, it makes us whole again.

Pastor Mike, I appreciate that you don't pull punches. Thank you for 14 and the strong answers. Before I opened the Gospels my objection to God was just misguided anger or fear. I remember how I cried out for Him and reading Matthew alone healed so much of my pain. I feel like all paths lead back to Jesus, but the path is said to be narrow for a reason. One of my intellectual doubts I can firmly point out is making sure my experiences are with a holy force and not the deception of a demonic one, that I may not spread deception to anyone. Bless you.

First question, you hit it spot on, Pastor Mike!! “Applying the blood of Jesus” to things, saying those words, sounds very magical. Pagans and witches and Catholics repeat words and phrases in a certain order to invoke or cast spells. If you feel you “have to do or say something” before praying, you’re heading into the unBiblical and creepy realm.

Thanks for answering this question about Jesus’ blood. I knew a group in our church (they left) who would plead the blood over this and that, a similar idea. They were also into word of faith. It does smack of superstition to me. And I bet if you said to some people who draw comfort from this, no you mustn’t, that they’d twitch a bit! And yet, when I stand before the Father I will plead the blood of Jesus to cover my sins, but surely that’s the only time it’s relevant and appropriate. Jesus’ blood is my plea.
Doing this makes people feel safe. Because perhaps they’re forgetting that He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world. We don’t need such practices and they cause us to forget who’s won the war, even though the battles and skirmishes continue. For now.

When people say, "I apply the blood of Jesus over you..." are saying it as some sort of protection. In the old Testament they applied the blood of the lamb over the door posts to protect them from the death angel. I'm thinking this is where that logic comes from.
I grew up in a charismatic" church "and people said this to me all the time growing up. And I look at this now and realize that there is NOTHING in the new Testament that speaks of applying anything over your life.

I suppose I could have worded the question more like “Is there a line that Christians shouldn't cross when it comes to comedy? For example, crude jokes or mocking. (Ephesians 5:4?)”
I haven't seen any Christian UA-camrs respond to Crowder's content specifically, even though he is probably one of the biggest Christian-hosted channels out there. But I totally respect Mike for not wanting to be too quick to judge before watching more of his videos. :)
Not all of Steven Crowder's content has the same abrasive tone (a lot of his Change My Minds are very respectful for example), but his comedy has a “just about everything goes” approach to it. While this is useful for building a like-minded audience, I'm worried that it might not be the best way to communicate the love of Christ to the world.

Add to this the idea of offense. There’s a whole lot to discuss about taking offense. Does it always say more about the word lobber than the recipient? No, I’d argue, not always….

Steven Crowder is a Christian but also a political commentator and comedian. He doesn’t have a ministry, he isn’t using his channel to speak about biblical truths most of the time. He discusses current events, cultural issues, etc. Due to his humor, he isn’t everyones cup of tea-but he does love and follow Christ and isn’t ashamed of it. This “in-house” fighting amongst Christians is nonsensical sometimes.

I often pray like that and it's the way i grew up. My great grandma and my mom always let me know to pray for the blood of jesus over us and to have psalm 91 opened in our bibles. All i know is that a mothers prayer can definitely put protection on her children for nor harm ever came against us. This is how I most pray, "Dear heavenly Father, who is exhalted in heaven, who sits high and looks low, Lord I pray to acknowledge that you are the only God and there is none like you. Lord of Lords, King of Kings, you have protected us for 7 days and 7 nights, Lord all I ask is for me to see one more day Lord, one more day to be with my beautiful family who you have blessed me with, but if its your will Lord, then let your will be done." And then I ask for forgiveness and to wash away my sins with the blood of Jesus. Then I ask for the whole armor of God, to annoint my family from the crown of their head to the sole of their foot with his holy hand.
