This is a a real and formidable story. It is also known without doubt that Yusuf Shah Chak defeated the huge army of Emperor Akbar more than once. Akbar made it in Kashmir by deceit, however, he still never did find peace. Who was Yusuf? He came from a recently converted family to Shia Islam from a Daradic tribe who were originally Hindus. His relatives Shankar Chak, Pandu Chak were all great warriors. The Darads are Aryans like Kashmiris and are cousins of Kashmiris and Shina and Kashmiri are strongly related Daradic languages. Earlier on Kashmiris defeated Mahmud of Ghazni who had conquered parts of the Indian subcontinent and Persia. Also, the Kashmiris liquidated Mirza Haidar Dughlat the cousin of Babar. Thus, the history of this region of Bharat is very colorful. Habba Khatoon (Zoon) was not only a great poetess but a gorgeous individual who was very loyal. A touching story indeed.
