- Were we TOTALLY WRONG with our guess that the Kawasaki Ridge is a Can-Am Maverick R fighter?! You all certainly seem to think so, and the patent drawings clearly show a utility machine. This week, we’re looking at all the evidence for both sides! Let us know in the comments what you think!

I think the ridge is a whole new side x side line up with both a sports side x side and luxury utility side x side.
I feel we will be let down after all this waiting
Great Information!
It’s has a closing tailgate! Definitely not going to be a sport machine. I just about cried when I saw that!
The word RIDGE doesn’t even sound sporty, it sounds like let’s load up and go recreating and camping!
UTV super popular with every age group ! bring big sales !! maybe coming out with 2 , two different machines ???
Any idea where in Phoenix the meeting will be? Do you think a prospective buyer could get into see it? Thanks
its gonna be a regular teryx with xpedition features and possibly a 1000cc instead of the 800cc
It's either an Xpedition or Ranger XD 1500 fighter. Teaser 7 just dropped, showing off the roll cage shape and full-door power windows. The tires are only 30x10r14 where most sport or sport-utility today are going to 15" wheels. But I am on the fence if this is an Xpedition or a Ranger fighter, but it is definitely not a Maverick R or RZR Pro R fighter. The rear suspension are A-arms, but it does have a lot of ground clearance. It would be nice to see this become an Xpedition fighter, so Kawasaki can discontinue the ancient old Teryx, which doesn't seem to be updating or getting a redesign any time soon. But just going off the motor they are putting in it, the shape it's becoming, I think it's leaning more toward Ranger XD 1500, and will be above the Kawasaki Mule Pro-FXT.
If we did not hear the motor sound from the last teaser, nothing was (not) saying this new Inline-4 wasn't a diesel. But it doesn't sounds like a diesel.
I hope that its a very capable sport utility like the expedition or rmax with heat and ac and in that under 35k price point. If so my rmax is gone and the ridge is going in my garage.
Just sold my rmax in hopes of ordering a ridge soon as it’s released
With a name like Ridge id say its a Utility machine.
Also that shock in the teaser is a basic shock clearly not a sport machine shock .
Bingo.
Have you guys not seen the big ass square rear window in the latest teaser? About 2 seconds in when it shows the side window roll up..I’m assuming to tease electric window controls, you can see the huge square rear window. I don’t necessarily think it’s gonna be a strictly Utility side by side like the mule. I do however think it’s gonna kinda be a crossover with features from the Teryx KRX and as far as body style, cage goes with just a touch of the Mule. Like 98% KRX and 2% Mule. It will be an aggressive styling with a touch of Mule here and there. 15/16 inch ground clearance, 64 to 68 inches wide, 95” wheelbase, 125” to 130 inch overall length. Gonna be a two door. 4 door will come later. The inline 4 will be naturally aspirated with 200 horses. And a turbo charged inline 4 maybe as an option. I think they will have 3 to 4 different models of the machine. They will have a standard machine, an S, ES, and a 250/300 hp overland edition. 25k to 45k.
looks utility to me. id be into a rmax type vehicle but it looks more defenderish to me in the teaser videos. body lines of the cab are very vertical and boxy
Ranger has a mechanical clutch option which is the new dividing line now.
I guess we'll find out on Tuesday right
Wheel base says, 4 seat, square and flat rear haunches says utility, I’d be amazed if this doesn’t have a dump bed
you are correct it has a dump bed
The generic shock is mounted upside down, so no piggyback or remote reservoir. It also appears to be a single progressive spring. Relatively small Bighorn tires, and very basic a-arms. This is not going to be a race / sport machine. "and I'm betting NO supercharger"
Its a utility machine not a sport machine
It's the Northstar competition, polaris Northstar is pretty much the ultimate for the older guys. I know a ton of them that drive full cab ac/heat sealed, so kawasaki would be smart to get into that market. Especially because those guys out over 6k miles a year on their machines. Alot of the sport riders think they just use these machines for work but i know quite a few guys who drive these things every other day all over the place and haven't once used them for work 😂😂
Please do a Livestream at the dealer meeting!
I really think this is kawasaki's version of the xpedition. They released another video that seemed to imply heat and a/c.
Id love to see a sport ute with thier 1500cc TVS 1320 blower bolted in
It's a damn utility UTV and that doesn't scream (premium peek performance) sorry!
Please go live and make videos at the dealer meeting!
The new Kawasaki ridge looks like to be another Polaris ranger just hope the engine is the inline 4 and the transmission is a gear transmission not no belt and also the suspension is at least 16 inches of travel
Sport Utility at most. In line 4 n/a! With that said we should hope that the two other models to be released next year are Supercharged Pure sports. Who knows? 🤷🏻♂️😎
Judging by other Japanese manufacturer as Honda, Yamaha this Kawasaki would be just utility SxS . For some kind the strange reason they all are very conservative with power performance of their cars . Maybe the cloud of countless lawsuits Yamaha get over Rhino still hold the Japanese manufacturer back in SxS bussines. IMO
$50,000 4 cylinder supercharged.
no
Zx-14 engine under 20,000. That's the only way I'll be interested
Like a Roxor
Sportier UTV like the general or expedition. A future modified KRX version will get the 4cyl with supercharger IMO
High end utility machine? LMAO buy a jeep bro! nough said
Ya they dropped the ball on krx ,so they better stick to utility lol
I mean it'll probably be nice but dang I'm gonna have to haul a lot of firewood to justify the cost. Probably just run the wheels off my old Mule Pro instead.
two different machines. First gonna be a fully decked out and insulated Mule FXT
no the ridge is a utility vehicle
Utility!!!!!!
I know for sure it’s a ranger 1500 competitor because I’ve already seen it.
Bummer.....the market is flooded with utility machines.....why would Kawasaki add this to the mix?? No use waiting for Kawasaki...back to Polaris I go.....
Kawasaki didn’t want your business no way.
You should relax on your Kawi promotions.
