On a B&G autopilot system, you select a tack by switching the pilot to AWA mode and then press both of the 1 degree buttons at once. The Triton² B&G display will open a menu and ask if you're sure you want to tack. Once you select the option, the boat will steer through the maneuver and thus allowing the skipper to go forward to deal with the genoa sheets. The whole point of auto tacking is to allow solo skippers an easier way to tack a Genoa.

And next ... Single handed jibing?

Way easier on the Raymarine, no menus just a single combined button push. Also why 50 degrees and not 45 Degrees! 🤦‍♂️

@@45DegreesSailing that's odd, I had my older B46, (the one that my father named: "Lovro") going all the way up to 26 degrees. At 26 degrees apparent, in 9 knots TWS, he was doing a sustained 3.5 knots in flat water. No performance sails, no battens in the main or genoa, and the sprayhood and bimini up and that gave it even more windage. In fact I have a photo to prove it. A couple of years back I even gave a Hanse 548 a run for its money... upwind

The less I do, the more sea sick I become. I'll stick to a more hands on approach

Great Funktion that I wished I knew about - thanks for the info. Like Knut my first singled-handed tack and jib were a mess. I got the hang of it eventually but could you do a video on singled handed tack and jib (in a lot of wind) without the wind hold Funktion - would be great.

I’m sure I could find a situation to do that one. I’ll put it on the shoot list :) thanks Jayne
