    I have a 72 needle PT Legere Antique Sock Machine circa 1917 used to make socks used by the Red Cross. I can make 7 different types of socks all with heels and toe. Toes are Kitchenered Stitched closed. All that said: "Always make both socks the same day. This will ensure the tension is the same and conditions are the same. Make a sock one day and expecting the make the other sock the next day to be the same probably won't happen due to temperature changes, changes in your tension, etc. :)

    SUCCESS! I didn't have sock yarn, so I used 3 weight. I wear a size 8 and I did 78 rows after the cuff. It's about the length of a crew sock. Fit perfectly. 💜💜💜

    Those are so pretty! I generally don’t wear socks because I’m a barefoot kind of person, but in the winter I do wear those little fuzzy slipper socks and these would be really nice. I like that because they are so short you don’t have to shape a heel.
    I haven’t hand knitted in years due to arthritis so I’m saving for a machine. But in college, I hand knitted rainbow toe🦶socks for both of my brothers. It was my first time using double pointed needles! My brothers wore them with sandals to school and were very popular!😂

    • @koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet
      @koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet  Рік тому

      Haha! Great story! I definitely remember the rainbow toe socks! To think we found toe socks comfortable! Not sure that I could wear them now.
      Even for longer socks like this there really is no need for a specific heel. Back in the day tube socks never had a specific heel and they were perfect. 😊

    Hi Shelly. Going to love exploring sock yarn. In the meantime, I made thick house socks by using #4 Caron Simple Soft to make a long skinny "beanie" on the Addi 22. I knitted 160 rows, cinched both ends, then pulled one end up through to sew it to the other. There was plenty to fold down a cuff on the sock. The only drawback was that they're a little slippery on non-carpeted floors.

      @@koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet by the way, I have several skeins of different finger weight yarn, that I would love to use in a “machine” project. This sock pattern will be one of them, however, if you can come up with anything else.. I’d like to see it. Fingerless gloves, summer cover-up,??? It would work out like lace, maybe?

    • @Helens-Crochet
      @Helens-Crochet Рік тому

    Thank you. I have been tossing around in my brain on what to do on the toe end on a better finish. Real socks don't have a circular ending. Can we somehow cinch it up a bit then close somehow the stitches flat. I think those would fit better.
    I am new to Sentro knitting.
    Regular knitting there is a gradual decrease to finish the toe area.

    • @koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet
      @koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet  Рік тому +1

      You could take it off the machine with circular needles and hand knit a decrease if you wanted to. I don’t know how…Lol…. but you can try.
      Also, don’t cinch the end tightly closed. Just partially. Then seam that opening straight. Hope that makes sense.

    Love this idea! I think I will just measure my foot. My Addi is clamped onto a desk, and if I tried to lift my foot up like that, I would be yelling "I've fallen, and I can't get up." Wonder where my sock yarn that I bought a few years ago is. Hmmmm!

    • @koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet
      @koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet  11 місяців тому

      I have not made that size but every 5 rows knit is approximately an inch so you can go from there. Not sure the 22 needle machine is wide enough for a man’s foot. You may need the 32 needle Sentro Mushroom.

    Hi thank you for your videos. I have two questions. I would like to make my family slipper socks. Would I use the addi king for that? Children from the age of five to 18 and husband that wears a size 13 men’s (Canadian sizes) could you help me with a tutorial?
    2. In one of your videos you said you were not American. So does that mean you’re a Canadian? If so what province??
    Again I love your tutorials. I made some slipper socks on the knitting loom (followed your tutorial) but I have so many pairs to make for Christmas gifts, it would be so much nicer to do them on a knitting machine. I have the addi king and the addi 22.
    Thank you for any advice you could send out to me.

    • @koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet
      @koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet  Рік тому +1

      Hi there! I have several slipper tutorials on my channel. The Addi king is what you will need. They may be too wide for a five year old but a 22 needle would be too narrow I would think.
      I haven’t made slippers in every size so you will have to pick the video you like and adjust the length to what you think works. Every 5 rows is approximately an inch.
      I am from Manitoba. 😊

    • @angelaburcombe910
      @angelaburcombe910 Рік тому

      Thank you so much. I am from Quebec near Montreal. I’ve made your slippers and the kids loved them. However even with the addi king the slippers were too narrow for my husband. I wonder if I could use the 22 needle and make a tube and the king and do the mattress stitch to make them wider. What do you think?
