If you ever wondered what a stripmall looked like in 1973 the opening seconds shows us. Also I never realized when I was a kid that Greg making up the dumb story about Carol still doesn’t explain away his ski hat.
haha i just commented about that. His story doesn't explain why he was wearing the ski hat. That was what was "weird" about his behavior...not him being there. LOL
@@BMeister22 See! Pussycat Alice has a legacy here on UA-cam! The ski hat was worn by Greg.....to keep it warm for Carol as she was having her wig shampooed! "Who'd ever think that underneath it, that poor woman is completely bald!" .... it might have been a botched pot cookie batch.
funny she says that at 2:16 "Could you tell that Mrs. Brady was wearing a wig" in the shows first season from 1969-1970 Florence Henderson did wear a wig.
I have to agree with Robert Reed, this episode was just a bit too silly. However Reed directed the 'Get the Goat' episode which I thought was abnormal. Kinda reminds me of an old 'I Love Lucy' when she accidentally gets her head caught in a loving cup trophy, very silly but I guess that's what the audience likes.
I love the goat episode. He also directed the episodes How To Succeed In Business when Peter has a failed job at the bike repair store, Big Little Man when Bobby feels ashamed about being short but it did have an advantage to it. Bobby helped save Greg's life and The Winner when Bobby is doing what it takes to win a trophy and he did a great job directing them
lol these answers. It's because the script was written by adults. And in mid-century America, there was a certain formal dialogue that was "appropriate" for TV. TV dialogues *gradually* started to get more natural with very few shows in the 70s (All in the Family, which was groundbreaking), more so in the 80s, and especially the 90s.
So Greg says that his mother's bald? I don't see where that fits into any of this. I'm starting to see Robert Reed's point of view of the plot being stupid.
The girl in the pink top is Florence Henderson's real-life daughter. The girl in the green top is Sherwood Schwartz's real-life daughter. Sherwood's daughter was so beautiful back then, she still is now, too. She's happily married and has 2 kids.
Florence's daughter Barbara was in season 2's episode The Slumber Caper as Ruthie, Season 4's episode Not Everybody Can Be George Washington as Benedict Arnold's wife Peggy while Peter played Benedict Arnold and of course this episode. Sherwood's daughter Hope was also in season 2's episode The Slumber Caper as Marcia's friend who Marcia suspects squealed on her for writing the epithet "Mrs. Denton or a hippopotamus?" and Marcia uninvited but at the end of the episode she's re invited and she is the girl who enters the home after Mike has a bucket of flower dumped on his head that was meant for her, season 3's episode The Big Bet and season 4's episode Greg Gets Grounded as Greg's girlfriend Rachael and of course this episode as Gretchen
Greg's hair was orange from that nasty "Neat and Natural" hair tonic Bobby gave him earlier in this episode. That was why he's wearing his snow cap. He's here at this salon to change the color of his hair back to dark brown.
I think this was the last episode. I know they wrote out Mike Brady because he was being difficult. They didnt kick him off the set because they didnt want to upset the kids. Gretchen was also Marsha's friend that she uninvited to her sleep overparty.
I know Reed wasn't in this last episode & it just seems strange they never even made an excuse for him being absent in the story. Especially with Greg graduating coz there'd be no way he'd miss that. And what a weird way to end a multi season show. So abruptly with no closure.
Carol should have just come in the house and said something like, “Your father will back in a minute, he went to go pick up a keg for your graduation party.” Saying that Mr. Brady would ever go out of town for a child’s graduation raised more problems than it solved.
@@ravenel2 I thought that was poorly done, too. Plenty of other ways to work around Reed's absence besides making him look like a lousy father for choosing work over his son's graduation.
If Bobby did not insist that Greg use some hair tonic right away, what if he actually did just before his graduation ceremony? Then there would be no time to do anything about it. Also, what if at least one of the people he was trying to sell it to, actually bought a bottle, and had the same results? That would have been quite a series finale.
OMG I’m glad someone said it because I was thinking the same thing😂😂😂 wouldn’t the graduation cap ruined their hairstyles a little? Or forget their hair being ruined the graduation cap needs a flat surface on the head to sit on.
Can ya blame him? What's he supposed to say "My hair turned orange because my little brother bought a non approved FDA hair tonic and he used it on me!"
Greg isn't very nice. The girls will tell all their friends, then the mothers will all find out. Mrs. Brady has to go to the grocery store, the PTA, church, the department store... and all the other women will think she's bald. No sir. Greg did not think this one thru.
Still love The Brady bunch today I grew up as a teenager watching them beautiful family show love from Canada 🇨🇦🙏😘❤️😊
So Do I
Robert Reed refused to be in this final episode because he felt the premise was too absurd.
Is that the guy that played Alice?
Even Schwartz held off on security so he can spend his final minutes with his tv family
I LOVE BRADY BUNCH 💜
That was the very last episode of the Brady Bunch ever.😢

Maybe when Reed found out the script called for both rabbits were male he backed out..
Are we just gonna ignore the fact that “Gretchen” used to be like 2 other characters, including one who went out with Greg? Lol
The advantages of being the creator's daughter.
And she also makes an appearance in last year’s A Very Brady Renovation!
She is the daughter of the show's director Sherwood Schwartz .
She also played marcias friend in the sleepover episode
No I don’t think we should ignore Gretchen I think she’s fine I don’t agree with you
Damn, even the beauty parlor has that hideous fake "wood" panelling of the 70s!
My lounge room has the same sort of panel's in it.
Shewrwood's and Florence Henderson's daughters are the girls Greg sees at the beauty parlor
Oooooh, I DIDN'T know that, thanks
Oh really?
They were also in Marcia's slumber party episode.

Honestly he looks like a modern guy with the beanie and why did everyone seem more well spoken back then.
Because they truly were. Don't get me started on today's youth...
Back then, the main form of communication was actually talking to people and not texting.
Huh? Everything these children are saying was written and edited by a group of aging men.

Meh. I don’t find her attractive at all.. Flo’s daughter is way prettier IMO
That's Florence Henderson's daughter and producer Sherwood Schwartz's daughter playing the two girls.
How does the "secret" Greg shared with the girls about Mrs. Brady explain why HE was wearing the ski hat?
He was keeping the hat warm for her!
Pussycat Alice...
It doesn't so much explain as it deflects attention away from it.
Greg's hair was orange from that nasty "Neat and Natural" hair tonic Bobby gave him earlier in this episode. That was why he's wearing his snow cap. He's here at this salon to change the color of his hair back to dark brown.
ClassicTVMan1981X Robert Reed's very favorite episode!!!!! lol
...and you can clearly tell that it is an "orange wig"...lol ...funny how in today's world his hair color would be absolutely no big deal in 2022!!
00: 46 Greg reads a copy of Vanity Fair, upside down of course....
The same exact magazine and issue that Peter and Cindy read in separate past episodes. LOL

Weird way to end the series

Lol "There's no snow this time of year." I take it she's never been to Montana. Sometimes there's alot of snow up in the mountains in June
Yea, but why would she be taking about Montana when they live in Los Angeles?
@@pinkfreud62 ..The Show Never Mentioned the City they Lived in
Love it! ❤
Wow, didnt know the family room doubled as a hair salon
That salon looks nothing like the Brady’s living room
I agree with you 100% it does not look like the Brady Bunch living room to me either lol
Nothin at all
Ironically, Greg’s hair is better looking than all the women at the salon.
"NOT IF YOU'RE GOING SKIING"
In Montana you can still go skiing at Glacier Park in June. There's still plenty of snow
Why don't Greg just tell Susie and Gretchen the truth about his hair turning orange, getting it dyed is simple as that!
Wouldn't you be embarrassed if you had to tell what your brother did to your hair?
@@dancastro4732 Yes I would be somewhat embarrassed, but some people wear color highlights in their hair.
Nowadays the orange hair would not be unusual.
He’s young and popular, he’ll feel like he’s embarrassing himself in front of two hot girls who are in his class.
In those times men didn't dye their hair. Now adays men dye their hair. Get their nails done & eye brows.
