The area you was walking in the gas station on the corner the Sunoco a man was killed not to long ago. You have to be careful around there at night. There are a bunch of homeless around there. The shelter is not to far from there. It's off of Pensacola. Tallahassee has changed in the past few years. A lot of shootings and various crimes.
So you're educated Railroad area is like an art district and Gaines has grow substantially and been cleaned up big time. Next time drive north on Thomasville Rd. and you'll see the nicer part of town. Anything North of I-10 is nicer. The students do not run the town although they help the economy big time.
You should visit Havana it's a nice small town not to far from where you are. If you take Tennessee st all the way down to Monroe then stay on Monroe for 20 mins and you will run into downtown Havana.
Bro, this is just the college town/Doak stadium area, that's not Tallahassee. Show appalachee parkway and capital circle or Southside if you wanna see some crazy mess. The areas you in are safe 🤣
A surprising lack of people... Apartment buildings, sidewalks, parks, gas stations, strip malls, and nobody out walking around... nobody on bikes, nobody out with their kids, nobody at all... It's like somebody built a little city and forgot to put people in it.
If you havnt been to some of the parks in and around Tallahassee they are beautiful. Lichgate is a very pretty place tucked away in the city if you have never been. One of the oldest trees in the city it's centered around. Limbs stretch to the ground.
We South Floridians call it L.A. (lower Alabama) because it’s so country. I’m supposed to be up there for the first time tomorrow for Hurricane Ian response set up. Your impressions of Jamaicans and a country guy are spot on.
@@dangerbaby644Completely disagree. North Florida is not like the rest of the state. You all have more in common with South Georgia than beaches, Disney and the Everglades. GTFO
Practically I lived there. Very racist towards latinos. I lived 15 mins away, if you are latino it’s dangerous. Redland is good people, blue mountain as well. But this is klan area can be terrifying if the wrong people come after you. You can Rent a house.. DO NOT BUY.. all the lawyers and realtors are working together to screw you. Its a nice town the vast majority of people within city limits are good. Too many prisons are there, the guards are complicit with the inmates to smuggle cell phones and much more. Its like this, it looks beautiful and calm but theres another secret situation there you dont need in your life. Dont believe me, look up hate group maps and see how many are there in wetumpka. Some of the churches are klans, stay the crap out. I know some good people there, but the bad are too powerful and dangerous. This area is not good for outsiders
Unfortunately, the youth and young adults what are around today seem increasingly (over a 10 year span) shallow, absent-.minded and blissfully ignorant or just indifferent when it comes to ANYTHING regarding the uniqueness of Nature and geography around tally and nearby panhandle areas. Unlike most of Florida, Tallahassee has elevation differences...in fact other than shocked at how potentially cold Dec - Feb nights and mornings can dip (days too though rare for daytime winter highs to remain at or below freezing all day....though not unheard of and happens every 3-4 yes..."YEAH!!") Tallahassee 's hilly terrain and abundance of trees both deciduous and longleaf, shortleaf, slash loblolly pines and even noticeable Fall colors give Off more of an Southern Appalachian foothills town vibe than anywhere else in the state of Florida.
these people are the definition of complainers...instead of saying anything about what they are driving past they are talking about boomer my generation this and that who cares ruined the entire video.
I live in Tallahassee and I hate it. Weather is horrid and it is a backwards community-twenty years behind times. It is not a fun place, there is nothing to do here.
I'm moving there very soon only for family. I've been there several times throughout the past 7 years and you're Right ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO. I'm an older person and it's beyond boring.
hm well I was looking for this comment. i heard of it and was like let me look it up. i had this vision of a vast land that was almost texas like for some reason. interesting. well thankyou lol

The only place I’ve ever seen the signal lights horizontally was in Texas. Definitely different.

It’s the country like Alabama. That’s why we SOFLOs call it L.A. (lower Alabama). There’s nothing to do in Alabama either.

Trust me every state has a backwards community living in one in cali as we speak that's just something you can't really avoid at times.
