People with natural immunity to COVID develop antibodies as well as T cell responses to many different parts of SARS-CoV-2 not just a spike protein. I talk about 2 studies on natural immunity to COVID. As always, there are links to the studies below.

      Dr. Moran,
I need your recommendation or advice! A little background first, I'm in the Army and come 8 Sept they are going to make it mandatory to get vaccinated. I am 30, healthy, fit and also already had COVID. I am going to take the antibodies test on Sunday. I haven't gotten the "shot" for many reasons. And I am contemplating getting kicked out of the military to not get this "shot" if thats the repercussions. But if I don't want to waste my 12 years I already served and hoping to retire in 8. Which vaccine would you recommend? I am leaning towards J&J only because of its "old school" technique.
Anything would help, it seems like I know more about COVID and these "vaccines" than the few doctors I have talked to.
      Thank you

Oh hey doc.. WHAT IF.. This 2019 incidence of Covid was in fact a global attempt at an involuntary world inoculation for SARS and MERS as pre-emptive to some kind of knowledge base on those two viruses which we are not privy too.??? Why would China release data on a reported 600 mil dollar upgrade to their laboratory HVAC and Containment, and not just do it silently after all? Looks like a red herring of sorts/ else we would never have seen that in the press... Really, that's basically what they did with the 2009 Spanish Flu outbreak... As "H1N1", and a less deadly form of S.Flu variant was incepted shortly thereafter the initial outbreak event in Mexico if I recall... Was it really any coincidence that a variant of H1N1 then broke out in major centers around the world over the next year.? One that did not kill you dead asap and had a much lower death rate... And really, in terms of the INITIAL COVI viruse and VAX COMPLICATION stats, .5% death rate would be pretty impressive if so with consideration of a 15-35% death rate on SARS and MERS. Still I wonder was a pandora's box accidentally opened in terms of mutation potential..?!?!? You really have to wonder... Call me a curious one, but really I am just searching for some kind on positive sanity in all this contrary to the POSSIBILITY that they might have actually tried to kill us all... If I remain on that positive mindset, I could see where they are pressing the world to get the COVI vax as it would appear POSSIBLE that those who are now COVI Vaccinated may in fact become accidental asymptomatic "mega-spreaders". Every last one of them truly now threatening the un-vaccinated...?? Does Covi Vaccine create "super-spreaders"?? Have to wonder.... AND Finally - Did Prince Philip get his wish. Funny how that statement has not gained more attention... In 1988, Prince Philip said he would like to reincarnate as a deadly virus to solve overpopulation.' And while I believe it is stated that he died at age 99 in 2021, I believe there is a lot of conjecture on his actual death date. Still, I imagine he will have many future COVI variants to choose from in his next manifestation on this Earth....

Just a casual observation from the Peanut Gallery. People with vaccines do get sick, but not as long is what I interpret. Yet when they get their jab they are sick for a bit after they get it. So basically it's "time served" and when you add up the down time for someone with the vaccine compared to someone without the vaccine it is kinda the same down time. Yaw mean?

The EU Green Pass does recognize naturally immunized (IgG positives). It also has a provision for a negative Covid test within the last 2 days (a big hassle), but at least there are 2 other options besides the jab. It is very frustrating as this is biology 101, not even immunology 101 - this is the result of dumbing down science education where policymakers are ignorant and cause the suffering (losing jobs, no entry, etc.) of others.

It's good to know that Israel has a reasonable policy, although the last article I read they were hinting at needing the 3rd shot to have a full green pass.
I'm fundamentally against the vaccine passport because I believe it is the foundation of a social credit system like china has. That and it is coercion for taking an experimental shot. People should never be coerced to take a medical procedural or treatment.

I think we would know a lot more about natural immunity if doctors would share their findings. I tested positive for Covid in October 2020. I have several comorbitities, over 65, overweight, COPD and CLL. My symptoms were a low grade fever for about a week, sick to my stomach for a couple days, but the fatigue was pretty bad and it took 2 weeks to get over it. In January I went to see my oncologist for my 6 month blood work and checkup. He had the lab check to see if I had antibodies, and he said I had plenty. In July I went in again for my 6 month blood work and found out that my doctor had left that medical group and they assigned me to a different doctor. I asked him to check me for antibodies again and he brushed me off saying we didn't need to that I needed to get the vaccine in case I need treatment for my CLL down the road. My white cell count did go up about 9,0000 since last visit. You would think an oncologist would like to know if his patient still had antibodies. I'm searching for a new doctor before my next visit.

Yes, it's true that getting the vaccine after recovery from natural infection will boost your antibody levels, but doesn't it also increase your chance of adverse side-effects both short-term and long-term? My understanding is that side-effects from the vaccine increase as the dosage increases, and the side effects are not all trivial.
One of my employees missed nearly a full week of work after getting their second dose of the vaccine, and Eric Clapton spoke out about how he was unable to play the guitar for two weeks after taking the vaccine, and felt like he had been "duped" into believing the vaccine was totally safe.
Of course, these are anecdotal reports, but where can you turn to for "official" reports on side-effects? VAERS? That's not really official, although it's full of reports of side-effects. My understanding is that there is still only two months of safety and efficacy clinical data for the Pfeizer vaccine, and that the original clinical trials were narrowly focused.

I think the effects of years of cocaine / heroin and other substances on Mr Clapton's immune system may have had something to do with his response. NOTHING is totally safe. And I've seen him a dozen times in concert and love his music and talent but I wouldn't even let him pop a zit, never mind take medical advice from him ....and Layla agrees ;) God these are silly times...let those that train their whole life be our sentinels not some rock n roller.. Getting a vaccine after recovering from a natural infection never boost anyone's immunity. It is intellectual dishonesty. Anytime you encounter any particular pathogen again after recovering from a natural infection, your body naturally responds quickly because the memory is promptly called upon. It has nothing to do any boosting. It is a natural phenomenon. That's is what immunity is all about. If you passed through a natural infection, vaccine is completely useless for you.

Was never able to get tested because I was already healed by the time testing came out. Than earlier this month I tested positive for the Delta same symptom plus the lost of smell and taste. But made me feel the same and lasted about the same amount of time two weeks. Both times were tough but I never had to go to the hospital and recovered just fine. I’m actually going to get my antibody test today. I will keep watching your content because there isn’t much info out there for people in my situation. I haven’t been vaccinated because I’m able to beat Covid without risk of severe symptoms hospitalizing me and this time around it was easier were within 7 days all the symptoms were being less active in my body, coughing less, starting to have more energy and just feeling better. Just about everyone in the UK has either been vaccinated, recovered from the illness, been offered the vaccination even if they refused it, or are young enough not to be badly affected. Probably not, but it's economicly beneficial for the pharmaceutical industry. That's why all data indicating that vaccination is not nessecery for the previously infected, will be skewed, altered, corrupted or simply hidden away, so that vaccination will be deemed necessary for everyone.

The trial was initiated on June 2, 2020, with the current protocol reporting randomization from January 15, 2021 to August 6th 2021, when the trial arms were stopped for superiority. A total of 3238 patients were allocated to fluvoxamine (n=739), placebo (n=733) and other treatments (n=1766). Herein, we report the effectiveness of fluvoxamine vs. a concurrent placebo control. The average age of participants was 50 years (range 18-102 years); 57% were female. The 41 proportion of patients observed in an emergency room for >6 hours or admitted to hospital due to COVID-19 was lower for the fluvoxamine group compared to placebo (77/739 vs 108/733; Relative Risk [RR]: 0.71; 95% Bayesian Credible Interval [95% BCI]: 0.54 - 0.93), with a probability of superiority of 99.4% surpassing the prespecified superiority threshold of 97.6% (risk difference 4.3%). Of the composite primary outcome events, 88% were hospitalizations. We found no significant relative effects between the fluvoxamine and placebo groups on viral clearance at day 7 (Odds ratio [OR]: 0.75; 95% Confidence Intervals [95% CI]: 0.53 - 1.07), mortality (OR: 0.70; 95% CI: 0.36 - 1.30), time to death (Hazard ratio [HR]: 0.79; 95% CI: 0.58 - 1.08), days hospitalized (Mean Difference (MD) 1.22 days; 95% CI: 0.98 - 1.53), number of days ventilated (MD 1.10; 95% CI: 0.70 - 1.73) or other secondary outcomes. Natural immunity gets developed when you have had the infection whether or not you have been previously vaccinated. So if you're vaccinated and then get the infection, you get additional protection from the virus. When you get infected your body sees the whole virus and makes antibodies against different parts to the virus and your cell-mediated immunity develop cells against these different parts of the virus not just the spike protein.

But my overall point is that with all due respect, doctors should just stick to treating cases of illness individually Because when you try to do it sociologically, You make the assumption that everyone in the world lives just for the narrative of the virus. There’s no way of knowing how anyone is going to react to a certain virus due to the different lifestyles environments and immune system etc. People don’t live in laboratories they live outside in the world full of anything that can either strengthen or weaken you . And as far as longitudinal Studies of reinfection I’ll tell you this. Sure I was sick in the hospital with lung pneumonia that they call “COVID- 19”. A second shot will not have any benefit. Vaccine effect to reduce chance of infection wanes at about 5 months. Long term you have broader immunity than the only vaccinated. Consider your area's rate of infection, time elapsed from last vaccine and your health conditions to determine any future boosters.

Always really great information Dr Moran! The studying of Natural Immunity to disease in humans is so interesting! Thank you for info in these videos! For example where I live in St Augustine Florida the Yellow Fever epidemics has such a notable history here. The 1st Yellow Fever outbreak was in 1649 and impacted the European settlers and Native Americans alike. The death rate no doubt was 50% or higher. Then there is a 255 year gap in time before the next Yellow Fever reappears from a infected persons on a boat from Cuba. The people who succumbed to Yellow Fever 1821 epidemic were mostly northerners who had come to settle in the city recently. The descents of the Europeans settlers and Native Americans still living in the city seemed to have some kind of natural immunity to the disease and didn't come down with the disease. I always wonder if Covid natural immunity might transmit to our descendants similarly?

Dr Moran, thank you for a very balanced and rational explanation which is free from media bias and for asking important questions, such as "What we really want to know is whether vaccination after natural infection is clinically beneficial, looking at clinically-relevant metrics", because these kind of questions never seem to make it into the media and even when doctors give advice to people. Even if the vaccine is safe and effective (which can be debatable), we still need to ask if vaccinating a specific person is necessary and if the benefits really do outweigh the risks.
A few questions regarding antibody testing:
Are we focusing all the tests on the wrong antibody? We keep testing for IgG, which is mainly present in the bloodstream, whereas IgA antibody, which is present in the airways, is arguably more important (and more potent as some studies have indicated) at coming across a respiratory virus and neutralising it. Surely a person who's had mild symptoms will probably not generate many IgG antibodies as the IgA antibodies would've already taken care of the virus for the most part whilst it's still in the airways.
Also, what is your view on the need to test for antibodies that target other viral proteins too and not just the spike protein, which we know changes shape with each variant?
Lastly, is there even much need to test for antibodies to determine immunity if memory B-cells already exist in the body and can generate a high level of antibodies very quickly should the same pathogen re-enter the body? Shouldn't we be testing for the presence of appropriate memory cells?

I really appreciate your honest expert opinion Here is my question, when it comes to COVID parties, I am not saying this extreme, but why not? Why are we so afraid of kids, teens, and or 20 y/os living life? We are masking kids, isolating them, and we are not allowing their immune system to become robust with kid illnesses. I would think that would affect them as they become adults. Second, my kid is 11, and she is high strung and freaking out over COVID. I kept her calm but she felt comfortable wearing a mask at school. I said sure, go ahead. Well two weeks ago, she got COVID from school. She ran a temp for a few days, gave her aspirin, gave her vit c, D3, zinc (small doses), but she has been running around very active. She asked me what does this mean and I told her that she has a natural immunity to the virus. You saw a weight off her shoulders and also mine and my wife's. We got COVID back in December, my wife zero symptoms and I got it from her even though I am really not around her. I got it worse, but nothing like anything I get when I get Strep. My wife and I were cautious around her, but I did not wear a mask, and for her it was comforting to know we were not treating her like she had the plague.
Last point, this is not going away. We are all getting older, the vax will wane, and even natural immunity may wane, but it is more robust than just having the vax. I will probably be getting a booster since it has been 8 months, but avoidance and kicking this can down the road will create so many more issues physically and mentally. I read where one lady was boasting about being on a plane for 12 hours and not removing her mask one time to even get a drink. So yeah, saying going out to a COVID party is extreme, but just get back to standard life is our way out of this. As any virus, the virus will cool down (still a little afraid how virulent the virus is and the leaky vax could lead to resistant strains and that will be REAL bad) and our immunities will increase with exposure. I am not saying NOT to get the vax and in fact I would have gotten the vax if I did not get COVID. Difference is, I would be out in public life and if I get it, I get it. BTW when I got over it, being in my 40s, I was popping the MASK+ except the IVR for many weeks prior and did not have many issues like I said. When I got over it, it was a mental freedom I also had. Then my kid is now thru it, there is another larger relief. Anyways, thanks for the great info!
