How many rebalancing adjustments do you need to do every time you change a lens? How long does it take you? It'll be so good to have a demonstration video about that maybe?
Let me jump in here: jumping from one lens to another (assuming the jump is not from a nifty fity towards a 600mm super tele or so) will require you to 1) rebalance the gimbal with the new lens and then 2) rebalance the Flyking. If you know your gear quite well, I would asumme a time between 5-10 minutes for the overall rebalance.
this is totally rad. I got the vest and arm.. was going to just use it like that but just picked up the ronin. this video came at a good good time. only think I wanted to ask, I was considering ditching the lower weight plate and using an extension pole with regular circular weights and V mount the battery in the vertical position. I noticed at time the regular plate was hitting my legs when I walked, if it was rotated in that way. either way this rocks. also, have you ever used the ronin to do "camera tracking" for multiple takes for compositing? wondering if the motors are "proper" for that kind of work and wont stray on repeated ttracks over the same course. thanks much and good work!! EDIT.. was wondering if you could use 2V mount batteries. 1 for the camera (I have a 6kpro and im afraid to share it on a single port.. ground loop fry and all that) and obviously the second for the gimble and monitor.
I built it to test it with a Bmpcc 4k with a DZO lens 20-70mm. It is quite heavy and a little bit exhausting with these equipment but worked just right. Definitely, like the Tilta Float, there is no way around, the user have to workout and strengthen the lower back. Thank you for posting an affordable solution.

You can purchase the Rs2 Combo which comes with a manual focus ring. Then Tilta sells a handle that can control it. In this video I just used auto focu
Thanks for making this video. I have the Red Komodo and I think using this set up would be easier to set up and use than the Float. I see you are flying smaller camera with this vest, would you recommend the same vest for that camera, as you use for yours?
I really don’t see the need to out the rs2 on this glidecam. You could simply get a quick release plate and put the camera right on the glidecam. Having a ronin stabilizer is not necessary for a glidecam because the glidecam is a stabilizer that works very well once you balance it and you can also put bigger cameras say like a black magic on it with no problem of the weight.
Great video, I just happened to find the tilta base plate for RS2. Do you think it is possible to attach the handle of the folow focus from the tilta to the arm of the vest using a clamp to be able to twist the focus with the hand that usually holds the gimbal by the handle (while the other hand guides the gimbal in space)? Then, after all, one could make crazy flights at long focal lengths, keeping the subject in focus.
Bravo for this ingenuity! I wonder about the follow focus, is there a possibility to install a wireless one? I also saw that you installed your monitor directly on the spring arm, is it easy to do or do you have to fiddle with it? Thank you!

Nice, i am asking myself to buy this one. I have already the DJI RS 2. I use it with my Canon XF 400. The XF 400 has already a good stabilisation from itself. In combination with the RS 2 it looks very smooth but off course there is always the problem from footstaps. I also have the Tilta Power base plate beceause I put my RS 2 also on the Traxxas XmaXX RC car. I thought the Tilta Float is the best at this moment but you tell that you every time to have a new balancing issue when you put your camera on. That is not what i want. It looks that this is a better buy.

This is insane and any videographer's dream and it turns out that I just bought that very exact same gimbal and had no idea I could do this with it. I'm really thinking of getting that flycam redking bundle. Any suggestion on the type of V-Mount battery ideal for this?
Appreciate the insight, thanks! I do think perhaps some comparative shots of handheld vs with the rig would have been good. From what I can tell it looks like it saves your arms more than stabilises the shot, is that right?
Hello, The V mount plate has been used by the video maker and he has given the name of that plate in the video at time stamp 6.02. Please check that. We don't provide this plate. Thank you. Team Proaim
incredible ... I am in the acquisition phase of EVERYTHING and as is sadly common for me, I have to buy stuff over and over. I just bit the bullet on a Ronin RSC 2 and found out that DJI doesn't support the Nikon D800. So I had to buy a Nikon D850, and now find out that your amazing Gimbal system doesn't work with the Ronin RSC 2 ... killing me :( ... outta money
Great video, thanks! Anybody come up with a good way to combine this rig with a shotgun mic? Seems like you need a second person and maybe a boom - mounting a mic on a camera on a gimbal doesn't seem work for me, and mounting anywhere else means it's not going to point the right way. So far a lav set up with wireless go is best I can come up with.
What’s the advantage of using the gimbal along with it? That might be a dumb question lol but I just want to know what it would do as a pose of just using the arm and stabalozer
Not a dumb question at all! Combining the gimbal with the arm and stabilizer enhances your shots by providing smoother movements and greater stability. The gimbal compensates for any remaining camera shake or vibration, resulting in even more professional-looking footage.

Any thoughts on the flycam comfort arm vest? its almost half the price of the galaxy arm vest. I know it comes with one less spring bar but I'm not sure if that's necessary
Great vid, great diy rig. Question, how secure does it feel with the flycam just sitting on the arm? or does it lock? I would feel anxious when stretching the arm all the way out holding the end of the flycam with both hands for low shots.
you could always use a waist belt (sort of like how they do with wallets and chains attached). if youre not doing extreme heights or jousting it will at least keep your cam from smashing.. but it IS a very strong connection. id be more worried about the gimble snapping.but it looks solid as well

I tried almost the same setup on a gimbal fully loaded bmcc6k, sigma 18-35, matbox and all. It's definitely possible but risky and the amount of counter weight needed to get it balanced ended up making the entire system very very heavy 😪
@@moonlightcinematix4138 I have the same setup but the 6K pro. it worked fine on the ronin S2. a bit too heavy to hold and still gets micro jitters. I use a canon IS lens and its buttery. in fact unless that camera is on a tripod or slider I wont attempt to handhold, even with a gimbal. just too much weight for a clean shot. the mechanical pivot on this setup wont break and the weight needed for counterbalance on this setup is fine, and actually you'll need less weights on the bottom with the weight of the camera, not more

I have the flycam vest and arm with sled. Thank You. I may look into purchasing a dji rs3pro for my 6kpro setup.
Thank you! cheers!
That would be a great setup. Thanks for the idea.
Great video thanks. Did you need to use a longer P-Tap to 2 pin Memo than the one supplied. If so, I'm curious where you found that. Thanks!
oh boy. i bought a Manfrotto mvg 460 q1 this year. I think I'm screwed... what do you think? Is it worth the try?
OMG! I think you just changed my life with this rig setup lol. Subscribing now!
Thanks! Cheers!
It really is an amazing rig setup. I love it very much
Wicked setup. I have the original Ronin S - can it be adapted to this?
this is totally rad.
Those are all great ideas, I’m not 100% sure but you can customize this thing however you want
Hello Teddy,
No, you can't use it this way.
Thanks
Team Proaim
Do you have this rig setup with the webill s?
Amazing video 📸
I built it to test it with a Bmpcc 4k with a DZO lens 20-70mm. It is quite heavy and a little bit exhausting with these equipment but worked just right. Definitely, like the Tilta Float, there is no way around, the user have to workout and strengthen the lower back. Thank you for posting an affordable solution.
Hello,
We appreciate your honest feedback and agree that operating handheld rigs can be a workout, especially for the lower back!
Ensuring that our solutions are affordable and user-friendly is our top priority.

Thanks for the info, awesome video. I saw you having the weebils on top. I understand that is a much simple setup. Are you confidence with the conection you were afraid of with the dji? In which mode are you using the weebil s? I own a sony 6400 and can't connect an external monitor while using the gimbal, can you do that with the a7III? thanks in advance
I got excited when you mentioned the RSC2 as I have this gimbal, but then you said you swapped the RSC2 for the more expensive RS2 :(

Hi, nice videos.! One question, how do you balance the arm in order to prevent moving forward? and to stay quite once you release both hands from it.
Great video. So can i use the ifootage cobra 3 monopod with this
Very helpful thank you so much for the guide! Great setup
Hello,
We are glad it helped.
Thanks
Team Proaim
Yes, it is one of my favorite vests that Ive ever used.
So I'd be able to do this with a Blackmagic4k and smallrig attatched!? Hope you get to respond! Thanks!
Yes, I have seen that camera on this rig
Does it helps with back pain?
Yes, it absolutely does.
Nice build. but how do you pull focus?
You can purchase the Rs2 Combo which comes with a manual focus ring. Then Tilta sells a handle that can control it. In this video I just used auto focu
Thanks for making this video. I have the Red Komodo and I think using this set up would be easier to set up and use than the Float. I see you are flying smaller camera with this vest, would you recommend the same vest for that camera, as you use for yours?
Hi There,
Yes, both of them are compatible.
Thanks & Regards
Team Proaim
I got the exact same vest just this week and was trying to figure out the best way to use my Ronin S with it. Dope ideas 💡 👌
How is the fit around the waist?
@@HornHippieMedia it's great. No issues.. sits well
@@maddenfootballtalk6544 Yes, it is a great vest and it fits very well.
Thank you for showing this setup!
Glad that you liked it. I love this rig setup.
I understand where you're coming from, but I think that the weight might not be distributed as easily.
Nice. i have the RS2 and the weight of it with the camera is killing me, so this might be an option.
Hi there,
Yes, you can relieve the weight by opting for Flycam Galaxy Arm Vest & Redking Handheld Camera Stabilizer.
Thanks
Team Proaim
Yes, this is def the option for you. It worked great for me.
Hello,
Yes, you do the attachments in the above mentioned way.
Thanks
Team Proaim
Yes, it is possible and also very useful.
Awesome! That's What's Happening!
Bravo for this ingenuity!
I wonder about the follow focus, is there a possibility to install a wireless one?
I also saw that you installed your monitor directly on the spring arm, is it easy to do or do you have to fiddle with it?
Thank you!
Hi There,
You can mount Follow Focus over Stabilizer with the rod support,
& Monitor can mount on Stabilizer.
Thanks
Team Proaim
You can fiddle with it to get it how you want it, but you will need a strong magic arm
It was interesting that you used a DCI footage. Did you march?
Also, I lost my redkind baseplate. Do you know what kind I can get? My other manfroto style ones won't fit.
Hello, Redking base plate we can provide you. Please mails us at sales@proaim.com for further queries & help.
Thank you for writing here.
Team Proaim
Hi did you have any issues while using this Rig like low back pain? if yes how did you eliminate it?
Hi Christian,
Galaxy Vest equally distributes weight in 3 parts; to your shoulders, Back & to your waist.
So you won't find it uncomfortable.
Thanks
Team Proaim
No, i did not have any issues. It distributes the weight very evenly and well.
THATS CRAZY!! I fell upon BEST BOY ADAM say that very same video and then after days fell upon your video here and this is exactly the problems I had until you 2!!! buying the vest used and saving a few hundred bucks and im so excited to finally have everything I need. Im using the Glidecam, RS3, and this vest now!! super excited !!! ill be creating a video of my set up too
Were you able to do it? I’ve got the rs3 pro and would love to see your video if it’s posted!
What would your whole stabilizer gimbal setup with the vest and everything else needed cost in total? (camera excluded)? Thank you for your video and build creativity! 😁

Thanks for the video ! just wanted to know how well this works with the Webill S : Config is Sony A7iii with Tamron 28-75 ?
Do you have any suggestion for a rig that is exclusively mechanical? (no electric/digital parts, I will use in bad weather) eliminating or minimizing the up-and-down of my steps is the most important as well, particularly because i have a series of injuries that make them worse. Thanks!!!!

Thank you for reaching out to us with your specific requirements. Considering your injuries and the desire for an exclusively mechanical rig, we recommend exploring our range of Non-Electrical Body-Mounted Stabilizers.

This is insane and any videographer's dream and it turns out that I just bought that very exact same gimbal and had no idea I could do this with it. I'm really thinking of getting that flycam redking bundle. Any suggestion on the type of V-Mount battery ideal for this?
Awesome rig. Thank you for sharing this incredible DIY video. Save me a lots of money. Peace.
Hello Nelson,
Thank you for your support!
Team Proaim
Glad that you liked it. It is one of my favorite rigs.
Appreciate the insight, thanks!
I do think perhaps some comparative shots of handheld vs with the rig would have been good. From what I can tell it looks like it saves your arms more than stabilises the shot, is that right?
It does both equally.
what v mount plate is that please? Send me a link as soon as you can. I ordered one but it's too small to use :(
Hello, The V mount plate has been used by the video maker and he has given the name of that plate in the video at time stamp 6.02.
Hi, do you know if theTilta power supply works with the Ronin Sc gimbal? Thank you.
No it does not
@@thefilmalliance I guess I'll have to get the RS2 then. Thank you for your reply.
How can I do with Zhiyun Crane 2?
What’s the advantage of using the gimbal along with it? That might be a dumb question lol but I just want to know what it would do as a pose of just using the arm and stabalozer
Not a dumb question at all!
Combining the gimbal with the arm and stabilizer enhances your shots by providing smoother movements and greater stability.
The gimbal compensates for any remaining camera shake or vibration, resulting in even more professional-looking footage.

Hello Luca,

Great vid, great diy rig. Question, how secure does it feel with the flycam just sitting on the arm? or does it lock? I would feel anxious when stretching the arm all the way out holding the end of the flycam with both hands for low shots.
Hi Derek,
There is no lock on the connecting point, but it is very securely connected.
Thanks
Team Proaim
you could always use a waist belt (sort of like how they do with wallets and chains attached). if youre not doing extreme heights or jousting it will at least keep your cam from smashing.. but it IS a very strong connection. id be more worried about the gimble snapping.but it looks solid as well
Game changer!
Explain how the weebill s is connected to it in an update please

On one of Bestboy Adams videos he mentionied that the vmount plate have to be moveable in every direction to properly balance the system. Did you have any issues with your setup so far. I want to build a simliar one for my bmpcc6k and a ronin S
Hi There,
We don't have V mount plate in Redking Stabilizer but, you can balance the system with provided weights.
Yes, it is compatible with BMPCC 6K & RONIN S

I did not have any issues with it. It is one of the best vests that I have used.
Hé top concept, I already have all these components but never used them together. Shure gonna be doing some testing with your rig. Thanks!
Awesome! Glad you found it useful.
I am also thinking about this system for my BMPCC I believe that working with not excessive weights it can work very well. Thanks for the video
Hi Mario,
Stabilizer has a weight capacity of minimum 700 grams & maximum 7 kg/ 15.4 lb.
You can use it accordingly.
Thanks
Team Poraim
I tried almost the same setup on a gimbal fully loaded bmcc6k, sigma 18-35, matbox and all. It's definitely possible but risky and the amount of counter weight needed to get it balanced ended up making the entire system very very heavy 😪
@@moonlightcinematix4138 I have the same setup but the 6K pro. it worked fine on the ronin S2. a bit too heavy to hold and still gets micro jitters. I use a canon IS lens and its buttery. in fact unless that camera is on a tripod or slider I wont attempt to handhold, even with a gimbal. just too much weight for a clean shot. the mechanical pivot on this setup wont break and the weight needed for counterbalance on this setup is fine, and actually you'll need less weights on the bottom with the weight of the camera, not more
OUTSTANDING!!!

Thank you very much. We are glad that you liked the content.

must have for anyone lugging zoom lenses, I'm in 18 months of recovery from tennis elbow/severe tendonitis in my arm from hauling my camera system around and free hand photographing without a tripod bc hello tripods don't offer enough freedom of movement quick enough for those wildlife moments you're capturing... definitely purchasing bc wearing a brace that doesn't allow me to twist or bend my wrist has killed my photo mojo and I'm looking at possible surgery. I am curious how the Galaxy setup compares with the Vista-II. I love this rig, and have been designing my own, but cannot seem to find a happy medium. I like the way you did your rig, I had a similar parts list, but also needed a place to mount my Atomos. Great video! I cannot seem to find a good way to have my monitor at mid level which is what I really want.

You can compare by the load capacity for your set up,

I'm nearing completion of my rig but I'm at an impass. In your 'Construction Process' section I see you're drilling a screw through the V-mount battery plate to the bottom of the RedKing stabilizer. It looks like you drill up to the head of the screw and stop, which is what happens to me. The problem is the screw head is blocking me from mounting the battery. And the only 2 holes on the plate that line up with the RedKing are a different size hole and thread. I can't figure out what to do. I hope you can help. Thanks!
