      I'm pretty sure that's not what Byleths power looked like to people in Three Houses. Byleths power in Three Houses was to travel back in time, allowing them to perceive things earlier than they would've otherwise, it's like future prediction in a way. Either way, it shouldn't have been visible to anyone from the outside.
      I assume they changed it for Three Hopes because that's a power that primarily fits into a turn-based strategy game, but not a Hack-and-Slash action game, where timestop is another time-related ability that works way better.

    To those wondering why Sothis is so different here;
    In Three Houses:
    -Sothis was awakened in the Imperial Year 1180 when her power and consciousness were forced to manifest early to protect Byleth's life during the battle against Kostas.
    -At the very beginning of the game, after Byleth gives Sothis some basic personal information, Sothis dozes back off - further implying that she wasn't fully done resting.
    -Byleth's conversation with Jeralt right after this sequence suggests that she sees and/or speaks to Sothis like this often in her dreams. Possibly suggesting that she's had this repetitive conversation with Sothis many times.
    -Sothis is clearly lacking parts of her memory, but can no longer remain in hibernative sleep to regain them once she used her power against Kostas.
    -As Byleth travels to the Officer's Academy, rids Zanado of bandits, obtains the Sword of the Creator and goes on other adventures, her bond with Sothis grows. Sothis becomes akin to a parental figure, offering Byleth advice and becoming more personally invested in the worldly struggles of Fodlan as she watches Byleth deal with them.
    -Sothis comforts Byleth after Jeralt's death.
    -By the time Sothis regains her full memory in 1181, she has grown attached to Byleth due to all they've been through together and Byleth has likewise come to trust Sothis.
    However, In three hopes:
    -Sothis was fully awakened and manifested in Imperial Year 1182 - a full 2 years later than in Three Houses.
    -Byleth's dialogue with Jeralt here confirms that Sothis has been nothing more than a figure in a dream until now. Sothis has lacked the same presence that she had in the original game, presumably due to her remaining asleep for a little while longer as she recovers more of her memories.
    -Due to Sothis having remained dormant and Byleth never experiencing the events of Three Houses, the two have never had the opportunity to bond. As a result, Byleth does not have the same trust in Sothis as she does in the original game, meanwhile Sothis lacks the same care and empathy for Byleth or the worldly affairs of Fodlan for the same reasons.
    -Sothis having awakened fully with her memories means that the last thing she recalls is the group of humans who betrayed her/her people by using the blessings she bestowed on them against her, her sacrificing much of her power to ending that war and restoring the land - causing her hibernative sleep and possibly her getting brutally murdered in her sleep.
    So betrayal, war and death are the most recent memories in her mind right now.
    Complete with the fact that Shez has Arval and Sothis suspects that Shez is descended from the group of humans who betrayed her and well...she is Rhea's mother and how well did Rhea handle Byleth's betrayal in Crimson Flower?

    • @TheOmegaDragon
      @TheOmegaDragon 2 роки тому +51

      It was Rhea that betrayed Byleth. Byleth was trying to save their own student's life only to be threatened by Rhea for doing so. Rhea could have easily done it herself, why bring a Byleth into it? Byleth had no reason to kill Edelgard for petty trespassing charges. They are teachers not a knight of Seiros.

    • @carlbotdiscord
      @carlbotdiscord 2 роки тому +101

      @@TheOmegaDragon While I agree with most of this, "petty trespassing charges" were likely not why Rhea wanted Edelgard dead, rather, Edelgard leading an insurrection that not only tried to steal the crest stones (the hearts of her fellow Nabateans), but endangered the lives of everyone present, including herself, Byleth, and the students.

    • @Ergeniz
      @Ergeniz 2 роки тому +49

      @@carlbotdiscord Taking into account Sothis's more complete memory in Three Hopes, one would hope there would be more insight into how she views Rhea and the church of Seiros. In Three Houses, much of Rhea's motivation/obsession centers around Sothis. However we learn almost nothing about their relationship or what Sothis thinks of her, the plans to potentially revive her, the religion centered around her and much more. Unfortunately, it seems Three Hopes has neglected to offer any context into this either.

    • @TheOmegaDragon
      @TheOmegaDragon 2 роки тому +9

      @@carlbotdiscord By that time, she was already defeated. Edelgard is Byleth's student and a teen to top it off. If a principle asked a teacher to kill their own student to trespassing on campus, would you, do it? I wouldn't. Apprehending her would be good enough. Edelgard even gave warning to BE not to get in the way so that they would not get hurt. This indicates she cares for her friends enough not to harm them unnecessarily. Even if you agreed to kill her, she gets away anyways. That moral decision is up to the player. Personally, I didn't because Edelgard showed the upmost respect to Byleth for saving her life. I get Rhea missed her mother being Sothis's youngest child but, to get angry and get incredibly aggressive when things don't go her way is what is expected (ironically) from a child not a leader.

    • @emoneestep
      @emoneestep 2 роки тому +91

      @@TheOmegaDragon
      "Petty trespassing?"
      I think you mean grave-robbing and desecrating the corpses of Rhea'a slaughtered people.
      Edelgard's warning for the Black Eagles to stay out of the way fails to relay any type of care when she IMMEDIATELY follows it up by telling her soldiers (and this is the actual quote from the game) "I command you to collect the Crest Stones! If anyone attempts to stop us...kill them."
      In other words; "My friends whom I have lied to and betrayed, allow me and my forces to rob these graves with no resistance or I will have you killed."
      Let's not oversimplify things here. Edelgard isn't getting the death sentence for "petty trespassing". Right before the route split, Edelgard illegally marched Empire forces onto Church grounds and revealed herself as the Flame Emperor.
      The same Flame Emperor who ordered Kostas to (as he put it) "kill as many noble brats as possible" at the beginning of the game.
      The same Flame Emperor who is allied/working with the people who KILLED Jeralt, slaughtered an entire village, manipulated the western church, kidnapped Flayn and killed countless others.
      "But she didn't approve." Cool story. Doesn't matter. Whether she approves or not, she still continues to work with them despite all they have done.
      If you watch someone commit murder and you help cover it up or never report it, it doesn't matter that you "did not personally approve of the murder", you are still an accessory to the crime.
      So as of Rhea giving the "Kill Edelgard" command, Edelgard is guilty of:
      -Sending bandits to murder a group of innocent teenagers at the start of the game
      -Illegally marching her army into non-empire territory.
      -Grave robbing corpses
      -Threatening to kill anyone (including Rhea, a world leader) who tries to stop her and her forces from grave robbing
      -Working with literal terrorists who kidnap children, slaughter entire villages and conduct horrible experiments on living people against their will.
      Rhea is 100% in the right to order Edelgard's death here. She isn't upset that "things didn't go her way".
      Working with murderous terrorists ALONE is a death penalty crime. Let alone everything else Edelgard did.
      Let's honestly look at this decision about who Byleth should side with: Rhea vs Edelgard
      -Rhea saved Jeralt's life many years ago and created Byleth's mother, who she then lovingly raised as a daughter (despite Sitri not manifesting Sothis' consciousness).
      -Rhea is the only reason Byleth was born and is the only reason Byleth survived to adulthood. People like whine about Rhea giving Byleth the heart of Sothis but conveniently forget that Byleth was a stillborn child who would have been dead without it and DLC (as well as Silver Snow and Verdent Wind) confirms that it was Sitri's initial idea to give Byleth the heart, not Rhea's.
      -Rhea has given Byleth the Sword of the Creator, a stable job, a place to live and continual support after Jeralt's death.
      -Rhea will also support Byleth's leadership in every other route and go on to literally die/take near fatal wounds protecting Byleth's life in Silver Snow and Verdent Wind while accepting the fact that she won't get her mother back and that Byleth is her own person.
      -Byleth and Rhea have known each other as long as Byleth and Edelgard. Technically Rhea has known Byleth a little longer and has a deeper connection with her, due to her ties to Jeralt, Sitri and Sothis.
      -Rhea is literally the only family that Byleth has left at this point.
      Meanwhile Edelgard:
      -Has been going behind everyone's back for the entire year that Byleth has known her
      -Edelgard's forces and allies have both threatened to kill Byleth on multiple occasions.
      -Edelgard is working with the people who MURDERED JERALT and will expect Byleth to work with these same people.
      Once again, Rhea isn't angry that "things didn't go her way" when Byleth chooses Edelgard.
      Rhea is pissed because her granddaughter (technically speaking) has decided to spit in the face of everything she's done for her to support a woman whose forces literally JUST tried to kill her.

In this bout, you’re a match in a one v one, but Sothis activates enlightenment in self defense and out of anger. In the final battle, Byleth fights Sothis, while Shez maximizes their power by combining with what Arval gives them. @Will the cuck Smith Who hurt you, your reply sounds very angry? And have you seen the trailers, guess which gender they use? And you can't just dismiss my point of her being expressive, if you have seen cutscenes in fe3h, you can see that female Byleth is way more expressive, they way her eyes move, and general body movement add to my point.
      You obviously take me for an overly obsessed feminist, right? Well that is not the case. I am not transgender either. Why do you say I was crying, when I made a harmless comment? The reason there is no female amiibo for Byleth is because in Smash Ultimate, male fire emblem characters are always the first outfit. I'm sure if fe3hopes got its own amiibo's, female Byleth would be the amiibo chosen. I am also a fan of Chrono Trigger, and do enjoy Chrono's character, so that point doesn't work.
      What did I say that was "delusional nonsense"? Did I miss anything you said. I'm sorry that my opinion of Female Byleth being more expressive offends that "giant" head of yours. And btw, objectively, female Byleth is the main Byleth of THIS game, I am not talking about fe3houses. Next time, how about you chill a bit, and not assume I'm a transgender feminist, I know how annoying people of that type can be.

    • @booogagaming5223
      @booogagaming5223 2 роки тому +1

      @Will the cuck Smith *sigh* There is no use arguing with you, but I will let you know things you messed up. I am not a progressive, I made that clear. I do not do the female choice in any game, in every assassin's creed game with the ability to play the male, I have played the male character because there character is better. Female Byleth is the only exception, and I stated I know how you must feel, with having to deal with feminists and practically every gay person, and it's annoying with you saying it to me again. By expressive I mean shows their emotion more. And let me state it again I know how you are feeling hearing every zoomer saying how wonderful the female characters are and that they are better. But Byleth is the only exception for me. I am not saying male Byleth is bad, just that if we are comparing minor differences, female Byleth is better because of how she shows her emotion.
      Dude, I feel for you, really, but just don't compare me to those leotard's who make everything about being feminine. I find the gender used in trailers to be the canon, which is something we will have to agree to disagree on.
      Most importantly, and the biggest thing you have wrong about me is that I apparently have never played chrono trigger and don't like Chrono as a character, which I have and do. I have beaten all endings, some many times over. I understand that you think I would be lying, as Chrono doesn't say anything, and by your definition, would be a worthless character. But I don't just define how good a character is by what he says, I define how good a character by his actions. Chrono does some funny, and stupid things, mainly the dialogue choices in cutscenes. Though, I also like his choices he makes on his own in cutscenes. Sure he doesn't have much personality compared to basically any other RPG character, but the personality he has is great.
      And also, please stop calling me a progressive, I am not, and I am against people like that.

    Haven't played Three Hopes yet but wait, I'm confused. Sothis definitely wasn't this hostile and controlling in Houses. Is this just who she would have been if she had more time to reshape herself and turn Byleth into her vessel? Is the implication that, because they talked before Sothis even knew she was Sothis, it influenced her enough to be more chill? And why, in this timeline, would this be the first time Byleth and her talked anyway? You can't even pretend like the students never visiting Remire meant the two didn't have the chance! They had already talked just seconds BEFORE that! It's how they found out they shared birthdays!

    • @Anteo4ever

      I think the implication here is that this is not their first time they talk, but its the first time a powered up Sothis with all her memories interacts with Byleth. This is what Rhea wanted on Three Houses, Sothis overtaking Byleth and leading Fodlan to peace.

      @DrMintster 2 роки тому +4

      Maybe, but why did Byleth only just now point it out to Jeralt? And wait, if this ISN'T the first time they talked, what was different about their convos before this moment and why did Sothis feel the need to introduce herself by name or as the Beginning? That was still early on when she was slowly regaining her memories so wouldn't that also be the case here? And heck, something MUST have been different between them this time that influenced Sothis because she did regain her memories in full, iinm, and still didn't completely dominate Byleth's body. On the contrary, she gave them her power by merging their souls but the Professor was still in control despite the efforts of Lady Rhea. I could probably buy that Sothis would otherwise have been just as domineering and murderous as her daughter and even that she would regain her memories much, much later w/o the events of Houses to spur the two on to learn more about themselves, but then what were their interactions like before this? Nothing? Minor small talk? Byleth being so bad at social interaction that they can't even hold a conversation with, for all they knew, an imaginary friend?

    Rather rich for Sothis of all people to call someone ‘arrogant’.

  • @0axis771
    @0axis771 2 роки тому +3

    I like how much more arrogant Sothis is here, due to the lack of bond that she shared with Byleth in 3H. To her, Byleth is currently nothing more than a vessel. A "glove" if anything. It's a side of Sothis that most players aren't familiar with, but this was undoubtedly a side that Agarthans definitely knew and very much feared.

    • @necasa4919
      @necasa4919 2 роки тому +1

      Well, when you declare a war on other fellow humans, the goddess herself and her direct descendants for control and power, don't expect that goddess to take up the challenge too kindly.

    • @0axis771
      @0axis771 2 роки тому

      @@necasa4919 But those humans don't view her as THEIR goddess. Remember, Sothis is an alien that came to their land. And the original Agarthans had their own pantheon.

      @@0axis771 Well fair, tho it does not take away the fact they attacked first. If someone slaps you you'll likely want to slap back.

    • @0axis771
      @0axis771 2 роки тому

      @@necasa4919 Based on the book, it seems that they attacked because they felt that they were going to BE attacked. It is possible that Sothis grew angered by the Agarthans and could have planned to wipe them out or something. The Agarthans panicked and attacked to defend themselves.
      Like, if there was someone as powerful as Sothis and she was worshipped as a goddess, but you don't. You'd be terrified of her and would either suck up to her, run from her, or fight her. The Agarthans likely made the weapons as a means to just defend themselves.
      Like a nuclear deterrent. Because people have this morbid sense of security at the idea that they have a weapon that can blow the world up.

      Actually, because the reason your recruiter her you essentially created a time paradox, preventing the events of fire emblem, engage and too killing her makes more sense to the story not you only get a grimmer and darker story it is because this is what starts the events of fire emblem engage, and there are some theories that I seen online that evil veyle is infact the three hopes byleth but our consciousness is transferred into evil veyle mind but half of there minds have been wiped and replaced with dark magic as Zephia explains not to mention she’s really powerful with ring of the hero king aka emblem marth and she’s equally as powerful as three houses byleth with the sword of the creator and sothis power
