Hi OSET bikes do you think you could send me a 20.0R because this is a hard time in my life and I don’t have a bike that could take things off my mind.
Pat, as usual, you persist until you successfully complete your challenge... Good job! I checked out the specifications for the bike, but the manufacturer didn't state the weight of the bike. Also typically range is not mentioned, but I compared the battery size and voltage with my eMoto based on Watt-hours... My bike has an 86 Volt system with a 28va battery. This is 86v X 28VA=2408 W-hr system. The Oset has 48v X 4X batteries X 10 VA/ battery= 1920 W-hr system. Thus my bike range estimate 2408 ÷ 1920 is 1.25 of the Oset or 25% more or the inverse, the Oset will get 20% less range. Range is highly dependent on speed... so if I want to get the most range I go slow uphill and my videos look boring uphill :-) of course range also depends on the terrain surface type and profile (i.e. loose rock or mud going up hills). For a similar ride, I could safely say if I rode the same manner I would get about 20% less distance on the Oset. If I rode 25 miles on my bike then the Oset could get 20 (a typical actual range for my bike with 3000 feet of climbing... or once I nursed about 30 miles with 4,000 feet of climbing). I'm curious about how much range the Oset has when you ride? I understand you may not do as much climbing based on the flatness of Wisconsin, but perhaps you've taken it elsewhere with lots of elevation gain to be had? So, Oset weight and range?
The 20.0 is 80lbs and the 24.0 is 99 I believe. Very different than your bike as they are designed for trials but can be play and trail ridden a bit. Range is very difficult to say as it varies on terrain and how you ride. I have never drained it completely so I really don’t know. Most people say around 2 hours depending on how it’s ridden and how big the rider is. Maybe I need to do a test some day to see but I’ve never timed it. I do mostly ride them at home but have done an 8 section 4 loop trial with lots of hills that I made it on one charge with.
@@PatSmage Thanks for info... sadly and truthfully I am in no way trials guy, but I love exploring trails with lots of rock with rolling challenges. Maybe I could still benefit from a trials bike for riding trails. Electric stuff's biggest limitation is range. The weight of those Oset's is pretty low. Low weight matters so much for riding the tough stuff-- it makes it easy for old guys with low tech skills! Also for poaching gates and pipes fences :-) I got my bike almost 3 years ago and its been a lot of fun. The weak point is that it could benefit from bigger rims/tires like those used on small motos (see Sur Ron) so it would be more strong for bigger hits and/or less concern of flatting and more durable for tread wear etc. Also a bigger fork would give more control. Of course these would add rolling inertia/resistance and weight that produce less range. Recently, I've been eyeballing the Sur Ron eMoto with X-controller. They are deemed to be well engineered and only about $4000. They seem to be gaining popularity and there are plenty of videos on YT. Here is a YT video playlist I created with lots of Sur Ron info:

Have you considered an eMoto like this one or are you not interested in a trail-style eMoto?
Yeah a trials bike definitely helps with technical skills on all other bikes. A trail oriented emoto would be a lot of fun! I havent looked into them a whole lot but looks like there are a lot of them starting to pop up. Maybe someday!

I used the generator powered trailer of the RYP pits and the couple houses we stayed at. Never got it low enough to really need to charge it while staying in the van so it worked out nice.
Hey man, im not sure if7 you can answer this but if you add the aftermarket seat when ordering it, can you take it on and off? Also, does it have a clutch?
No clutch and I have not seen the seat but I imagine it is an add on which would be easy to take off.
Hi Sam, I was wondering if your 20R suspention is completely stock? I just bought one, And as an adult riding this (kid size) bike with a official weight limit of 45,5 KG. I thought maybe i have to upgrade the suspension before I break the bike? At the moment It bottoms out quit often.🤷🏻♂️😅
This one was stock. The shock was a little soft so I tried to be careful but it did bottom out somewhat often. I put a stiffer spring on my new one which helps a bit but I still bottom. You just have to try to be smooth and soak it up with your legs if it’s going to bottom! The forks are easier since you can just add air to stiffen then up.

Depends on the trick! Sometimes a handful sometimes a hundred!

Rebound damping? How much sag? Just bought an Oset 20R to me and my two kids :)
Thanks! I like them all on max on the 24, sometimes I dial the response back just a hair on the 20. Not sure on suspension, just tried to run it stiff as I could stock, but would like to get a stiffer spring for the shock.

Can you recommend witch to choose? 20R or 24? I'm in the situation to invest in a lipo battery to my 20R. The other alternative is to save the money, sell the 20R and buy a 24"
Depends on your size, riding style and terrain. Both are lots of fun. I am running a 24 battery in the 20 and it is a very good upgrade. The 20 is more flickable and quick while the 24 is more comfortable and stable. 20 is easy for some tricks while the 24 is easier for real trials. Both are good options!
@@PatSmage I have the possibility to either buy a used 24 for 3500 USD or a used 20 for 1500 USD. What would you do? I am 190 cm and have never ridden trial, but want to use it at my cabin.
How much is the running time of the 20?
I'm not really sure, depends on riding style, terrain and weight. Probably 1-2 hours for most.
