They did a really good job at emphezising how incredible of a machine Dom's '70 Charger was. Dom was only going 80%-90% which is evident when he suddenly pulls ahead of Brian at 2:29 and Brian needed to put 110% just to keep up.

@@colinm8191 In an intense race, you don't take your foot off the gas, you keep your foot planted while shifting gears, the engine will bounce off the rev limiter while you're changing gear and once you're in the next gear, you drop the clutch immediately. That way the clutch brings down the RPM of the engine for the next gear while giving you a little boost from the momentum of the engine. It's called powershifting, it's not good for the clutch but it is faster.
When you remember how he was afraid and decided to get in the charger we all were shocked by the engine start it sounds like hell itself were free that was the hell demon before dodge even had the demon
Till this day, and so on. Watching Dom walk to that charger with that big blower on it really inspired me to have my own muscle car like that because that is a beautiful car❤ the engine startup, the idle sound, the revving of the engine and we all know the charger can really pack some horsepower. 😊 Dom's father really had good taste.
This is absolutely the best version of the Charger.. Those American Racing CL200s and the chrome grille makes it look so goddamned mean with the (fake) blower
The stunt car for the crash has a fake blower The scenes of it in the garage and Dom cranking it and driving around in it… The blower was active… It was a blown 426 hemi… And the stunt car that was wrecked had a 350 Chevrolet in it with a fake blower

It was loaned to them for that scene and that scene only. The rest of the time it had either a 383 or a 440 in it with a fake blower. Spending the money to use a legit 426 Hemi for a car you're just going to trash is absolutely pointless. Craig Lieberman has a video on it.
Dom's ol' shade tree mechanic skills nearly got him killed. Important reminder why a Mopar certified mechanic using only Mopar certified parts is the safest and only option.
Everyone knows Dom's hotrod charger and how it did things like outrunning a bullet from the lone ranger's gun in first gear while pulling 2 giant cargo jets from DC to Los Angeles in 9 seconds. LoL but nobody remembers how many cars Brian had that could run laps around it and with not even half the horsepower. He had cars that survived EMP darts that jumped drawbridges (remember 2 fast 2 furious) that were imports. Any of Brian's cars from that movie could walk the charger that Dom drives in this movie by a country mile. And there was a gt-r from furious 7 that outran missies and bombs while driving underneath 18 wheelers and jumping through tunnels in mid air and driving through drones blowing them up That had over 1000 HP compared to Dom's charger which only had 900 HP cars can't survive this kind of abuse in real life anyways. it's just a movie it's isn't real.
