Don truly a song that describes how love can destroy even the strongest of us, especially when we are young and idealistic.
I had a sister in law who’s 18 year old brother saw fit to eat a shotgun after his true love told him it was over.
It was truly a tragedy and perhaps listening to some real country music would have helped him get through the situation instead of the genre of music he listened to. Just my thoughts….

    Thanks as always, Don.
I always interpreted it as that, in the end, he couldn't obtain her forgiveness, so he killed himself. That's always been my take.
Interestingly enough, this one was cowritten by Evan Felker and John Fullbright (who did the song "High Road" which you did yesterday).
    Cheers!

Hey Don, nice one..love the vocals on this one. Don could you plsease do "Gulf of Mexico" by Steve Earle, it's a great song about generational fisherman and the lyrics are killer. Thanks Don.

@garyrosenberg13 The reaction was a while ago so I'm not sure what your question is referring to. If you give me a little info I might be able to give an answer. Thanks.

I believe the woman died, or committed suicide. "With perfect grace she faced the sky". I'm assuming laying in a casket. Now he's contemplating suicide.
