It's usually called Koshi-Jime, because hips are involved in the choke, but if you look at codified techniques, it doesn't exist. Closest thing to it are Okuri-Eri-Jime, but two lapels are involved there, and Katate-Jime, where you choke using only one hand but from the front. So i guess it is considered a variation of Katate-Jime from the back, just like Te-Guruma is not codified and considered a variation of Sukui-Nage. Anyway, when somebody calls for a Koshi-Jime, that's exactly the situation that is being called for, no doubt about it.
You have true action at 4:42 is improvisation. Japanase judoka wanted use another technique firstly. He wanted to pick up his opponent and his right leg puted it under opponent body and he wanted start little special version yoko shiho gatame. But his opponent understood his strategy and catched her leg and he didn't let him it. Therefor he changed strategy and locked up her feet and he used sankaku and because he just lead on wazari he had not big problem to control her opponent 10 seconds.
“Italian Kata-Guruma”
Yes, absolutely, everybody has it in their arsenal here
Agree, the "standing" seo-nage is better than the "drop" seo-nage. Great videos and commentary... keep them coming.
Your videos are excellent, thank you for this quality work!!!! keep on going
