Longarmers: Stitching Inside Applique

Quilts with applique - do you stitch inside the applique or around it? I say that you MUST stitch inside the applique for the integrity of the quilt and the applique. In this video, I tell you why I know that to be true. I also tell you what thread choices to consider, how dense to make the quilting, and how I make choices for the designs I stitch in the appliques within this cute-as-can-be elephant quilt.

It is all aboriginal fabric produced by M&S Textiles, Australia. The Fabric Merchant in Joplin, Missouri carries it. I am not sure what other shops do.
