Hey I'm in AZ AS well. My wife signed up for the class. Did you take the one that gets you the endorsement? I joined the discord server but don't have permission to do anything.
Did I just see a scooter in the MSF course?
You little to far me because i live in East Texas to take MSF Course! I am taking MSF Harley Davidson in May i save up the money because little high $275 for 3 days course & Can-am is $99 but they to far too!
I want motorcycle license but not want driving motorcycle but in Tx. need drive A Scooter need a license!!
I realize it's quite randomly asking but does anybody know a good site to stream newly released tv shows online?
My msf course is THIS WEEKEND! I have absolutely ZERO riding history and, although I am nervous, I am READY TO LEARN, BABY!
How did you do?
@@superafricanguy passed! Everyone passed! Even the one gal dropped her bike ended up doing an awesome job! My words to anyone thinking about doing it? DO IT! 🥳
@@zickscittswinn I failed the riding course cause I parked the front t wheel on the blue box line twice and tapped cone on the swerve. But passed the written with 1 wrong
Don't be, i took my 2 day course a week apart and this friday 12/08/23 i passed. Good luck!
When I took mine I knew very little. I took mine through Harley and we were on Street 500s, I left that class feeling confident and excited to ride. It was an amazing training tool!!
I’m thinking of taking mine with Harley. After you finished, did you get a 250 or feel confident enough to still ride a higher cc bike?
As a music teacher, I've also found that it's really good to get back into the beginner's mind. I've been playing guitar for almost 50 years and been teaching for over 15. So I took up tabla drums, an instrument completely foreign to me. My arms and wrist hurt, I couldn't get the tone I was supposed to get, I was awkward and forgetful. It was a great experience to be reminded of what it's like to be a beginner when even the basic principals are difficult. Being humbled helped me become a better teacher.
I have my class coming up next weekend. This only gets me so excited to learn. I am still a little anxious and nervous to get started. (I am 1000% new) But, I am thrilled to learn the basics of riding!
Dakota Black How did it go, I take mine soon
Yeah how did it go?
Passed???
I took the msf course in Oklahoma and the instructors made it way easier to learn. They made the course much better than I thought it would be. I went in having never been on a motorcycle in my life and one weekend later, I had the confidence to ride on my own.
This is making me so excited to learn!! I can't wait!
Tomorrow's video has her riding her new motorcycle!
Oh yay!! I'm so excited for her. I'm saving for my own bike and have already checked out and researched the MSF course for my city!!
It was so worth the experience! Also Nikki is on the Discord and is constantly talking. So if you have any questions you can always ask her
Awesome!! Thanks so much!!
@@DanDanTheFireman im taking the msf course next month and im a little bit nervous. Is there anything i need to get ready for? And do they do the written and driving test on site?
I am 43 and had never even sat on a motorcycle, but recently took the MSF and loved it. It all came fairly naturally for me, but definitely was nervous beforehand. My first bike should arrive this week. Love watching your videos as a mature adult and seeing what not to do.
I took Basic Rider 1 with Steve and Trina and got my license. I went back with my bike, and took Basic Rider 2 with them. I had the exact same experience with them. They are awesome, fun people. They are constantly encouraging all the riders. I look forward to more classes with Ride Arizona!
Congrats again Nikki!
I loved taking the MSF in NM. My instructors spent the extra one on one time needed to make sure everyone passed, even students like me who had never been on a motorcycle before.
Where did you take your course...I'm in Roswell and I haven't seen any courses here (yet) congrats on passing btw!
David Burke I'm happy instructors helped so everyone can pass
Took mine at learn to ride ventura CA
Michael Slack come to Lubbock, Texas Wild West Harley Davidson offers the class and there are several hotels close by. One even overlooks the practice pad
Michael Slack it’s where I took mine from the instructors are awesome!!
This is perfect I start my first class tomorrow, god bless you brother
The point you touched on about feeling tired or off and taking the day off of riding. New and Old riders definitely need to do this. More than one occasion I felt off or wanted a nap first and said nah. Trust your gut everyone
FYI: The MSF BRC1 is free in Illinois for residents.
Birdman PB yes it does
Alex A do you have to be a resident? I’m from Indiana
consider yourself lucky. it's $350+ in NY
@@stephenx2857 Yeah that is lucky its 350 here in VA too
Congrats, Nikki! I'm sure you both will have a lot of fun riding together.
Awesome video and Congratulations for taking and graduating. Wear your gear, ride within your limits, become a lifelong learner and have fun with it!! Two down, Shiny side up!!
Thank you! (no idea what that means... Two wheels down? Tank and body up? 😂) 💕 - Nikki
I haven't ridden on a motorcycle in over 39 years. I plan on taking the MSF course along with my son after this Corona Virus starts to subside. My son has confidence problems with certain things. I told him that being nervous and being scared will work towards his/ mine/ anyone's advantage. Great video Sir, consider me a subscriber 👍 👍. From a police officer to a firefighter, be safe and God Bless.
Just realise the clutch is your friend, I always say start by using the clutch only until you get the feel for it. Then you can apply the throttle later
@@motorcycleislife8296 sounds like Great advice. Thank You.
Excited to see her become a pro! Cant wait for the dual moto-vlogs :)
Dan you are the coolest, that’s a cool to encourage your wife to ride and spend time teaching her that’s awesome you will be blessed my brother
I took my course about a few a weeks ago and just seeing this footage reminds me of how much fun it was. I'd absolutely recommend it
Hey dan. Thanks for your videos. As a beginner rider. I bought a 82 Honda Goldwing. Way different then street hikes. Thanks for all the tips and all your hard work putting these together. Hope to catch a group ride next spring.
Today was my Day 1 MTC course. It sucked sooooo bad. No one was actually a beginner in the class, it was all male instructors and riders, I was the only one struggling to keep up and struggling with the weight of the bike. My bike was crap, my body hurts from the position I was sitting in. First it wouldn't start, I had trouble shifting, couldn't find neutral, ran over all the low cones. The instructor didn't really care when I asked for help. Told me maybe it would help if I took it again. . Im probably going to fail tomorrow and have to do it all over again. I was making so much progress learning on my sport bike with my hubby and on the standard its like I never rode ever in life. So disappointed but will keep trying
Same happend to me 3 years ago. Now I'm on my 3rd motorcycle and have done about 50k miles you will look back and be like dam I was a noob this is easy now. It becomes just like riding a bicycle it becomes natural
Selina, did you keep at it? I retake my course end of this month after a VERY similar experience last summer.
This makes me more motivated to start saving up more and take the course. I always wanted to learn about this. Love the content!
I started watching your videos about 2 weeks ago . I enrolled in a class that was an MFS and I had a horrible time (so did the rest of the class) there was no positive reinforcement and it was not fun at all. There were lots of the things I saw in your video, that we got yelled at. I passed the class but like I told him after the class he had brought my level of confidence way down to where I dont even want to ride anymore.
I remember when I took the cmsp(in California) few months ago, it's defiantly designed to give you a foundation If you've never rode a motorcycle. But I remember when the girl fell while she was turning lol
I think it was a positive experience to go and do the msf course again. I truly enjoyed the video
This is my very first course. Even though I knew quite a bit, it was really good to take it to learn from somebody else. I had a blast and I highly recommend taking a course to anybody
Lmao my BRC instructor at the base was totally awesome but he just messed with us saying “get them fingers off the clutch before I break em” it was a rad time
Go Nikki!! I’m excited for you guys
Started by BRC yesterday. As a beginner, there was a lot to absorb, especially with coordination with the clutch, gears, throttle and brakes. My 2nd day I did pretty ok. Im signing up for a 2-3 classes.
I was also a experienced rider before my class and it was a blast I'll be doin again cause my girl I just got her her 1st bike ever she will be doin and I'm goin to do with her cant wait it's so fun and always learn more
That's awesome! I just took the msf in Delaware on the 8th & 9th of this month. I had only been on a motorcycle twice when I went and I learned a ton. Unfortunately I failed the riding portion but I'm going back again in November for a one day riding only course. I can't wait! Hopefully it won't rain the entire class this time. :)
Any tips or learned info to help other newbies? I’m taking my class tomorrow and have never been on or shifted before. Eek
@@michelleseguin3863 did you pass though? 🧐
@@MrBigerok1 No I didn’t. Retaking it soon though.
@@michelleseguin3863 keep at it ! I passed mines last weekend . I’m going to get my license in the morning hopefully ! Just don’t stress so much , that’s what I was doing . Go in there , listen , and have fun learning . Once I did that , everything else went a lot smoother.
At mine today. Only thing I wish is some exercises we could spend more time on. Like come weaving. Only got to do it 4 times. And that’s all.
Debating this weekend like a class with few not many
Positive vibes!!!✌🏽
That's cool you takeing the courses with her cant wait ti see her up that rideing skill awesome
Love your videos! I am returning to riding after many years of being away from it. Was going to go to DMV for my license, but now I am thinking of going to an msf course to brush up on my skills. Thanks again! Used to live in Tucson myself. Go Cats!
That bike fits her well. Being able to flat foot really helps a beginner feel more confident. Just a half inch taller though and she wouldn't be flat footing.
Great! I never thought about taking one until I watched Doddle on a Motorcycle and decided to take one. It was great. Specially learning the exercises to stay sharp. I keep practicing every so often. Now thanks to Fast Eddie I have more ideas to improve my skills. You guys presenting these videos help us common folks learn to be better safer riders.
I take mine tomorrow morning 4/17/21 in Phoenix. I’m excited.
Yeah Nikki!! Awesome job! That bike looks like it fits you pretty well. That Rebel looks like a cool bike. What a different look from the older style Rebels. Nice upgrade. Makes me wanta test ride one at Maui Motorcycle Co. Thanks brahda Dan. Keep it up man! BTW, I just passed my MSF Basic Rider Course on 9/16/18 and I'll give ya nine guesses as to who inspired me to take da class.........DDFM!
i took an msf course in Cali 7 years ago and i was having trouble with clutch control so after all class time and passing written test the instructor told me to come back when i learn to use clutch better. didn't have friends that had bikes to practice so i just went and purchased one lol. i keep seeing videos of others class sizes and i feel that was part of the problem we have 15 students so i feel like they was trying to speed us in instead of actually teaching
Your videos are great. Very helpful to everyone who wants to learn to ride a motorcycle.
Everyone should take the BRC. Even experienced riders will get something out of it. Some of it might be boring, but as it goes along, there is something to be learned.
3years ago, I wanted to experience motorcycles and no one I knew rode, so I found a MSF course and learned a lot. I got so excited, my dad wanted to go, so I actually attended the course twice 😂 was awesome
Now I'm riding a 2014 triumph street triple, and my dad has a 2015 harley switchback
I just took the CMSP last weekend with harley+AMO(we used the harley street 500) and I 100% the riding portion. Class was super fun, now just itching to buy a motorcycle lol
I'm looking forward to joining the MSF course and getting an endorsement added to my regular license myself when I have the free time off my schedule.
I had practice on a while riding a moped/scooter and I was inspired because of that experience and watching UA-cam videos on everything I need to know about motorcycles.
Good luck, I bet you breeze through it!
@@snorman1911 Thanks! I am looking to save a few dollars from my upcoming, high paying new job so I can take the class on my free time and have fun.
i took money on november 21-22 and it was so cold i actually got sick the first day and had to do the whole second day sick. But the first day was really bad because there was a weird clutch on the bike i used. i couldn’t find the friction zone until the next day when i really didn’t feel good and i ended up barely passing. if ur gonna take this course do it on a nice day.
Late to the game but the best beginners video bc you actually used a beginner rider and you were able to concentrate on directing and critiquing and teaching... I only have a 150cc but that's fast for me lol!!! Keep up the great work 👍
Good info. Me and the wife are taking this class in June!
Great video. I'm the only person I know with a motorcycle license. I tell everybody about the MSF course. It was so much fun. I got a 100% on both the written and driving test. It reminded me of going go-karting but for way longer. Plus the skills you learn are life saving. It also pays for itself with the insurance deductions. I want to take some advanced classes just for fun.
You might be the only one with a mororcycle license
@@JohnSmith-fq1zo thanks for the spell check
Just passed my MSF. Time to buy some cones, find an empty parking lot and KEEP learning.
Thank you -- my course is in 5 days! :D
Goodluck i had my first day today
@@juliansantos3342 right on! How'd it go?
@@rhythmtapper It was my first time in a bike, Its all about getting used to shifting through the first gear, it was fun yet scary lol, Had one good instructor the other sucked lol
@@juliansantos3342 will be mine, too. At least you got one good one! Good luck and post an update when you finish. Will do the same. Best wishes!
@@rhythmtapper Thank you, try to watch as many videos possible regarding friction zone, gear change and turning
I am so looking forward to taking my A2 licence course in spring! Love your vids btw :D
Is this course similar to the Harley Davidson mfs course? I'll be doing the beginner's msf course through Harley Davidson. Wow actually at the end of this month Fri, Sat and Sun. Am I very excited.
Love the videos and content, once I can afford it I'll become a patron. Keep killin it Dan!
i just took mine and barely passed, shit was hard, but i learned a ton
You’re the nice and calm tommyfffyeahhh
Exact opposite of my 1st experience with an msf course. My instructor was an unprofessional, abusive and angry psychopath that almost scared me away from riding entirely. Spent the entire time on eggshells with my anxiety sky rocketing, when he wasn't screaming at his ex wife on the phone over child support he was barking down my throat and belittling me on every single mistake with little instruction and little explanation on what I'm doing wrong. Eventually I asked what to do at a certain point on the course and he just told me " you'll know it when you get to it " rather than doing his job and teaching me then when I messed up he yelled at me, made me turn off the bike and kicked me out. Paid $225 to be traumatized and not even learn how to ride/ get my endorsement. Refund not looking likely, riders choice in holiday florida, would not recommend. Taking my time right now searching for a better place to go.
This is just me paraphrasing aswell, the real full story is much worse.
I wish the website had more detail to it. It gives you a small overview of what the classes are for, but you can't find any set locations for where you can find a local course or what the costs would be.
Looks like fun! Looks better than the one my son and wife attended!
Awesome video. My daughter and I take our course next weekend.
I have to retake ! they had two separate classes and first time ever on a bike so we didn't have much distance and we were on a steep hill. I took a dump while lining up down hill on a curve. a wee bit bruised. but, I learned how to start. i'm going to try retaking at a different location with no steep hill.
cone course slaloms up and down a hill are not fun for the first time ever rider. loved seeing that place you went to.
My MSF beginner course was pretty good, but they yelled at us for beeping the horn like twice while everyone was sitting still and we were waiting on them to set up the cones for the next exercise. Which isn't really a big deal, but like why.
Im here in casa grande AZ. Im about to sign up for a beginer course, my question is what about when it gets hot as hell. Do they take breaks to cool down or ride in the morning before it gets hot?
My instructor didn’t explain but when I did t do something right they would legit just yell at me instead of explaining. Confined t level went way down!
Big question …… Taking the course again, do you get a second M on your license ?? That would be so cool :)) Kuddos to you, for taking the course with her. My granddaughter wants me to take the Oregon course with her. Think I'll do it. She grew up riding/driving every type of ranch vehicle available to her, but has no road/highway experience. This should be fun for us both. Thanks for the video, good stuff.
Hey you should set up a day where you give your followers the opportunity to take a class with you!
I think he would be a very positive teacher but I think the only way he should do that is with the appropriate certification. Until he gets it (and i think he will), this is pretty pointless
I need take this test because going back driving motorbike getting older plus license exp. 30 yrs. ago!
Congratulations! ☺👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏☺
I've heard a lot of people fail that class too
In the msf course, do they teach you how to blip the throttle while downshifting?
Yes they teach that
I can't find any courses in my country. I might have to just buy a motorcycle and practice near my house and then when i can ride i'll take the test for my license.
Took the beginner course this past weekend!
Jerry McCrimmons did u pass?

Jerry McCrimmons yep since I took the class, I now know and understand how it works but I just couldn’t do that damn u turn
Taking the BRC this coming Tuesday and Wednesday! Any tips?
After we do that course we have to do it again. It'll cost you about £1000 before your aloud to ride anything above a 125cc. UK sucks.
So what’s the difference between BRC 1 vs 2? I already have my own bike, KLR 650, so in terms of what exercises and class topics would be. I just got my learners permit, but not endorsement.
taking mine tomorrow oh mygodd
How was it?
@@BarefootSurfer i passed i bought i used mt07 and im loving it to death ^^
Does MSF courses equip you with the motorcycle, helmet, and gloves?
Usually it requires you to get protective gear such as a helmet, gloves, sturdy jacket, sturdy pants, and non-slip boots. They provide the bikes and *sometimes* the helmets.
In Cali they provide you with Moto and helmet but not gloves.
i like most of your videos but this one i didnt because honestly i clicked on this because im taking my fist class and i really wanted to see more and have you explain more of the riding and see step by step what im going to be doing and hearing the teachers would have been nice also , love 99.9 percent of your videos but this one just didnt get what i clicked on it for
Def taking this, never road a bike in my life. My concern is that the lay out on the pavement seems so confusing!!?
Just follow what the other riders do. Don't lead the pack if your unsure
My daughter and I want to take the MSF course here in Houston. It's about $250.00 a class.
Cheap I paid $400
In ohio it was like 75
Fretting and frawing starting at 7 am???
So it’s ok to wear a GoPro during the motorcycle safety course?
so what would happen if they did not have a helmet to fit you
Great video. What kind of jacket does Nikki have on?
What gloves are you wearing in this video
What’s the highest clutch level you use?
Doing this thru AZ Team America in 2 weeks, is it just as positive and good feedback so you know?
I think it was Steve that taught my class last November down here in Sierra Vista and he was fun. Did he still have those odd little nicknames for everyone?
Yeah he came up with nicknames for everybody. I love his laugh. If you know Steve you what I'm talking about.
Both a female colleague and I failed the first MSF course. It is NOT easy for total beginners. Some people SAY they are beginners...but they've ridden dirt bikes as kids and don't tell anyone THAT! We hadn't done either. I went home and practiced on my boyfriend's lawn till I got the mechanics down. If you are a total beginner, my advice is...do NOT walk into a MSF course without any idea what you're doing. Unless you're a genius, you'll dump your bike and be asked to leave! In a class of several people, the instructors don't have time to just work with YOU! And many have forgotten what it's like to be a beginner. Some are not so patient. And I do remember the figure 8 box...very few were able to do that. And...funny...I've ridden my Harley now for 14 years and have NEVER had to do anything like that! Why do they make you do that?? Just being able to make a U-turn is all you need to know how to do. One thing I wish they had taught is how to negotiate hills. None of these beginners will know to use their back brake if they stop on a hill. I learned by trial and error on Seattle's treacherous hills.
Hey Dan, were you on a Kawasaki Dual Sport? I think that's the one I rode. Not a fan of the seat, I was saddle sore afterwards haha
I like those gloves
Does it matter what bike you choose? I recently just purchased a sport bike GSXR and that’s what I’ve been practicing on but some of my friends told me to pick the cruiser when I’m at the msf course rather than a sport bike. Maybe because it’s easier? You would think since I own a sport bike shouldn’t I use their sport bikes during the msf course instead of the cruisers?
wait so in MSF school they provide u with everything? ... and if u pass the course u get ur license immediately as well?
for my course they provided us with the bike and helmet everything else was for us to bring. after you take the course you get an endorsement and then you can take that to the dmv to do your test which will get you your license
Do they have all kind of motorcycle
In training class
Like I am 5’3 I am afraid to not get motorcycle my size
If you take the msf and pass donyounget your endorsement or license in Az? Wanting to do it soon to start riding .
Where is this course in Arizona?
Dan, did you have to provide your own motorcycles for the course, or did they let you borrow one?
How tall is she and how much does she weigh? My parents think I'm too light and I need something to convince them otherwise...
Good video and all but I can't help myself to not make this joke
Dan: you can't hurt yourself
Me: Clearly you haven't tripped and smash your arm on your coffee table while falling
My instructor told me to leave after the 5th experience on day 1 shouldn’t they work with someone who has a Learning disability which I have so what should I do about that?
