So much music magic happened in and around 1984 and she helped make it happen. She was part of Black Flag’s best and most creative lineup and her contribution to music is indelible! I bought “My War” because of that crazy album cover when I was 14 flipping through the “import” bins at Record World and it opened a whole new world for me and so many other kids going through the throes of puberty fueled angst! What did I have angst over? Not much. Mom and Dad were cool and home life was good! But I had raging hormones and that was good enough!

You should ask follow up questions. When she says she was kicked out of the band you never ask, "What was the reason they gave you?" or even "Why do you think that was?" She then says, "They offered to by me out." and you never ask "Buy you out of what? What did they offer you?" She then goes on to say that Bill Stevenson was kicked out prior and of course you don't ask any questions about that. You have access to these amazing people, you should try to get more out of them.

I like Loose Nut and In My Head but definitely prefer My War, Slip it In, Live 84, Family Man and Process of Weeding Out

We were outside the Star theater in Pedro was the only time she interacted with me; i think Minutemen were gonna play...she looked at me and said "Wow, there are a lot of weirdos here tonight."
Now that i found out she was anti-social i can understand and forgive; and she wasn't far off the mark; i AM weird AND i was on acid that night!
Interestingly, Bill Stevenson was also deliberately insulting to me at SST ---but Greg was always kind to me.(He was quite weird himself.) The Tea from Gi.

I love Kira she was so mysterious back then....and her recollection of the L A Punk Scene is SO on point I feel it just like she does.....Brendan was a real kind fellow even though he was proly 10+ years older than many of us he never talked down to us silly kids....he was really patient and father like.....Brendan could have been like Malcolm Mclaren and used us as a commercial project to make bunch of money but he didn't......

I always got the impression that Greg Ginn was so put off by Keith Morris and his wild ways that he sought out bandmates that were the opposite of him.

Annihilate This Week is a good example of Greg's views on 'partying'.

Greg Ginn was an egomaniac control freak scumbag. There is no way almost everyone of his ex band mates are lying. Most artistic people who create magic rarely are ever nice or sane people though, so not surprised.

So soft spoken, such a badass. Not many chicks could do what she did. She never flaunted her femaleness. She was the bass player...and damn great at it.
