its awesome i love it to. it grew on me big time over the years. its like an obscure scifi action anime with jason thrown into it killing people. peak kane hodder performance
This movie also has my favorite death in the franchise which is him freezing the girl's head in liquid nitrogen and smashing it. I mean, Jason X isn't the best film but at least it freaking has Jason in it unlike the previous film where he got like what, 10 minutes of screen time total?
You can’t deny this is an actually entertaining film, it’s like they gave up on being serious as soon as they took Jason to space and yet still delivered. Jason X is one of my favorite Jason renditions, whoever acted as Jason X did an astounding job.
I heard they were going to make a Jason X2 where Jason travels back in time and fights himself from 1979 and prevents his mother from being killed by that camp counselor.
@@ASR-Ansori Jason X will decapitate the jason from 1979 with one punch....Jason in 19979 was still human and weak, so...that fight will be 2 seconds long
I don’t care what anyone says, this is one of the most fun Friday films, most fun horror films, and a super great time. It knows what it is and what it’s doing. Jason in Space, it’s that simple and fun
@@stalker3839 no I think Jason goes to hell. Ah yes a man puts little demon In a dude after eating his heart then that demon goes into another person then Jason becomes Jason that makes so much sense i lost brain cells typing this but gotta admit he has a really good design.
I enjoyed this movie a lot! I'm a hardcore Jason fan that LOVES this movie. Uber Jason is fucking BADASS! To the ones that hated this movie and say they are "hardcore" Jason fans can BITE ME because a true fan of Jason enjoys all Friday the 13th's that include a Voorhees.
I find this movie enjoyable, I think a lot of people are put off because it is so far from the original Friday the 13th concept but I look at it as simply a Jason movie and I am able to enjoy it for what it is.
The only film which is far off is that abomination where Jason does not go to hell and instead gets ko'ed by a magic blade because of some curse. Jason X has great battles, music and he is brutal. It is not horror but Jason Voorhees was never really horror except maybe the first and second film. Most of the people he killed deserved it. Also the film actually does it it says; features Jason Voorhees in space. Freddy v Jason gets negative stuff but it has a lot of great scenes. It does get a little bit slow when they try to explain why they crossover but it has great and creative fight scenes.
@@BitOfUltraviolence You are right in many things, although "Jason x" did very well in the introduction of the film, seeing Jason captured by the government and the military, trying to experiment with him, and seeing how Jason reveals himself in another environment and makes them front, it's amazing. Then the movie went downhill with going to the "Future". Jason Goes to hell in general is not good, but I like many things, like the demonic environment of him, or the appearance of Jason that is incredible. The objective of the film was to have a shared universe with the Evil dead movies (Bad idea) and explain the "Immortality of Jason" that seems like a good idea to me, but not in the way that is shown in the film.
@@bhonor12 yeah its cold then its a shame that it died bc of that, it was perfect and is still perfect bt if it died like that then thats why it doesn't attract people no more. Is still fun to troll slow jasons around bt it aint supported and its sad
@ScrewdupJ16 Actually, Mears did pretty good considering his Jason was based off of Ted White, Richard Brooker versions of Jason instead of Kane Hodder. Kane Hodder is THE definitive Jason Voorhees. Kirzinger did a good job as Jason, but every Friday13th fan I know would rather have seen Hodder vs Englund in FvJ. Kirzinger was just too Frankenstein in his portrayal. The stomping boots, the swinging a matchete like a sword. Kane did everything with MENANCE. And thats why he's the best.
Jason isn't the only monster to go outer space in a movie. There was pinhead and his demons in hellraiser bloodlines and the leprechaun in leprechaun 4 in space. There's also a project shadow chaser sequel in space, I've only seen parts of It when it was on TV.
+KAF Buford you know what you ignorant fuck...FUCK MORTAL combat that shit gay. Jason is his own monster and monsters slaughter people so fuck off. I WILL SCHOOL YOUR ASS when it comes to horror films.
it wasnt that bad i mean we now know if jason loses to michael or freddy he can just go back into space turn into jason x then pretty much own mike or freddy
I know how most people feel about this movie but I actually kinda liked it. It was both funny and scary at times. But the so-called hardcore Jason fans despise this movie with a passion.
There are very few good in this movie in my opinion. The first is this opening. You could feel the terror of the killer (or maybe it's just me). The second is the red sclera, when he turn into Jason X. It looked pretty cool. And last is when turn that girl's face in to ice, and kills her. The rest sucks.
Critics have been merciless on attacking this. Why? It's the 9th sequel to "Friday the 13th". What were they expecting? "Gone With the Wind"? For what it is, this is very good. Jason in Space was very interesting idea. Visual effects were great. OK, death scenes and acting weren't that great but still fun to watch
And because Kane Hodder was in Jason X makes it a success in my book. Great deaths, good music for the film (and you think music don't matter, just watch the clip of the F13th remake but scored with Manfredini's score instead of the crap in the new one. Makes it feel much more like the kinda movie it was based off of instead of being Hollywoodizied. I think most people give it a pass is because they expected more nudity and didn't get it. Long Live Jason X!
This whole movie felt like some bad monster movie from the Sci-Fi Channel!!! What do you expect when two of the actresses are from that show Andromeda? Thank God for Freddy vs Jason and the new Friday the 13th to wipe the taste of this one outta peoples mouths. The only good parts were the recreation of the sleeping bag kill from part 7 and the cryo face kill.
I loved this movie no matter what people say, it gives you the feels of an higher experienced jason
Same!
True

At least this movie delivered what it promised. Jason Takes Manhattan barely had Jason in Manhattan. Most of it was set on a friggin boat.
Yeah I like this one better than Part 8 too. The kills were soft ass hell in part 8.

No New York because of budget problems, just imagine, bad ass looking part 8 Jason really taking Manhattan into his hands. Would've been so cool.
Jason Goes to Hell has the third most on-screen time for Jason, behind Freddy vs. Jason and Friday the 13th 2009
You can't blame the director as much as the producers. He (the director) did what he could with what he was given.
You can’t deny this is an actually entertaining film, it’s like they gave up on being serious as soon as they took Jason to space and yet still delivered.

That happened in a comic, since they cancelled the sequel.

His Uber Jason version, my friends call Shredder Jason, from the TMNT cartoon back in the 80s (When we weren't even born)

i dont know why but this theme reminds me of the theme for the movie THe Mask 1994 with Jim Carrey
Jason Meets Star Wars.
That robo girl kicked him into the machine that revives dead organisms, and Jason got rebuilt.
For some reason it sounds like "The Mask" theme :)
jason didnt want to go to space, they sent him to space because they thought that would be the only way to get rid of him.
Awesome. Jason rules.
My favorite in the series. Come at me!

Aw, we don't need any fucking REBOOT'S! Are you crazy!? This work is irreplaceable!! Show some respect!!!
