Honestly I love the way Dropfleet handles ship variants, where the model itself is different so you can tell at a glance what ship your opponent is flying, not to mention how much fun it is to assemble and paint them! I know some people go all out and magnetize their variants, but that's beyond me. I'm so glad you're making these videos, this is a super cool game! Also, something that I think you should know, when you go Weapons Free on that London Dreadnought, you get a whopping *44* shots off, if I did my math correctly.
I'm glad people are getting back into dropfleet, it has a fun and unique ruleset (which tends to get bogged down with the invasion mechanics but I digress) unfortunately because of the botched kickstarter the game was kind of dead on arrival, the dissolution of the company that originally made it certainly didn't help either, but TTcombat luckily has breathed some life into it.
dude both the dropfleet commander and dropzone commander look amazing, simply the detail in all the models, the versatility and replayablilty i mean it looks beautiful, if i had some spare cash laying around i would for sure get into it.
I picked up the 2 player starter with an ok deal on ebay after watching all your coverage and now I've fallen down a rabbit hole. I'm really interested in picking up the resistance fleet starter. Hopefully tt combat sent you one of those.
I would like to know if the sets on their site that are marked "Sold Out" are just temporarily out of stock or if it's that they're permanently gone for good. I don't want to get into a new game if half the sets are no longer available and I'm really liking the looks of the different factions.
It should just be temporary, in my experience they can be a bit slow getting more produced when they get out of stock on stuff (they're a relatively small company) but they're still supporting both Dropfleet and Dropzone.
@@neilsmadsen9134 Welcome? Buddy, I'm eyeballs deep in Armada, Aeronautica Imperialis, and World of Tanks. If Spartan Games hadn't gone under, I'd be ten feet under with Halo: Fleet Battles. My wallet cries as a formality now.
This is what AMG should be doing for Armada. It seems like a much cheaper way of making a product, which would also probably result in more profits for the company. I mean, it is not ideal to me, but at his point I just want the game to have a bright future.
A lot of ships could be in a color of plastic appropriate for the faction, and people could get away with applying a quick wash or panel line ink to things like Arquitens or Star Destroyers; even Separatists, one sprue could be very light teal and the other a slightly-brown gray. And when models are made of plastic they can usually be designed to snap-fit or push-fit (like Bandai or many recent Games Workshop kits). It'd also make it much easier for people who like to do fiberoptic lighting for their models, since they wouldn't have to pry the models apart. Add in some water-slide transfer sheets, and people could choose whether or not to add things like Republic emblems, or where exactly to place it, and could even add them to custom paint schemes instead of having to paint over existing details. As long as the core set/starters have snap-fit models and hull colors that look appropriate without paint, I think it'll still be able to attract new players.
It depends ship to ship. Some are just turret and minor chassis swaps whole others are major component differences. If you were skilled enough you could theoretically have some Swiss army ships but there are sprue limitations that could prevent that.
With the engines, if you drill into them to create a small crater it should look OK, not actually bought those two sets myself but defo want to after this

Wow that ships look amazing! I really like the sculpts
impressive, looking foward to the dreadnought bat rep
The dreadnought is huge! The models look awesome!
UCM have the coolest looking ships so far.

I can't wait for you to make how to play it.
I wish I had dropfleet commander players around here... I want to get into it so much!
They are great models. I was in on the kickstarter but the game never picked up in my area.
Can you do some direct comparisons to Armada ships for reference. Next to a ship of each class size?
Seeing that dreadnaught makes me want to pick one up.

They are actively trying to get more stock printed.
@@neilsmadsen9134 Sweet. My wallet is crying, but sweet.

I'd love to see a battle report/review because these models are cool and I want to know what the gameplay is like.
I really like the design of these UCM ships
I've only played a couple games but I keep buying more since I like the ships
That dread is gorgeous

This game rocks, do some batreps please
Sweet models!
Please a how to play and a battle rep. Those ships are dying to shoot things
Where are people ordering the 2 player starter can’t find it in the states

Alway's like the way the ships looked for this game.
PHR starter fleet on the way. "Resistance is futile"
Is it easy to magnatise to do different versions?

How do you put the colonizer together?
Look at the size of that thing!
I will pay for a tutorial on how to put the colonizer together
