Thanks for the video, and review of the resort! Can you tell me when you were there, and if your private pool was heated?

We went there toward the end of 2023, and Cancun was warm like in summer.
Unfortunately, the private pool was not heated. Each time entering the pool, I let out a mini-scream :) but quickly adjusted and became comfortable within a few minutes. Maybe because the air was still hot.
Bringing my own pool floats was worth it.

We are debating going in November. Is the water and beach here dirty or full of seaweed? Did you have any difficulty making reservations on property or get bored of the food or get the stomach flu from eating or drinking on property? How long of a walk is it to your room? How well did the AC work? I like a cold room to sleep in, 67F, ideally. Is the water pressure low, any limited hot water issues, and how well does the wifi work? Are the pools heated? Is the resort loud? Did you use the resort shuttle to and from the airport? Was it a direct ride, or did the transfer stop along the way and take longer vs. directly from the airport? Also, is there an option for the Excellence experience?

Wow, not sure if I could keep up with your questions. I wish we met at a coffeeshop and chatted about it.
      Here you go.
The ocean color didn't impress me much compared to the one in the hotel zone. There was seaweed on the beach and in the water, and you will see that in November as well. It kept me from swimming in the ocean, but that was the only downside of the resort.
The food was fresh and tasty to me. I didn't get bored of it with a variety of cousins and ingredients nor did it make me sick. At restaurants, they didn’t use tap water but poured bottled water into pitchers to serve tables.
We didn't make many reservations except for hydrotherapy. I thought we could get in the same day, but the next available spot was the following day in the late afternoon. Other than that, we didn't explore much else of other Excellence experiences.
The resort is small, so it doesn’t take long to walk to anywhere. It took about 5 minutes from the lobby to my villa.
The air conditioning worked well; it was set at around 68 degrees when I first entered the room, and I felt chilly.
The shower had good water pressure, and both hot and cold water worked fine. The Wi-Fi was good, but when I tried to access some US retail websites, it redirected me to their Mexican sites in Spanish.
Unfortunately, the pools weren’t heated, so it took some time to get used to the temperature. But since the weather was warm, I found pleasant that it was not heated.
The resort was quiet, and they provided complimentary airport pick up and drop off since I booked directly through the hotel website. The ride was comfortable and private for the round trip.
Overall, I felt pampered and spoiled throughout the stay. :)
Hope this helped and good luck on choosing a resort.

@salarygirltraveling Very informative, thank you. Would you recommend a different resort for a better experience in Cancun or the surrounding area? Not having a swimable beach is a bit off-putting.

@@shanew7361 We stayed at Hyatt Zilara Cancun at the end of December several years ago, and it is located in the hotel zone. This is a beautiful site with all (I think) rooms ocean front with a huge swimming pool. I swam in the ocean often, and the water was clear with no seaweed. I am not sure how this changed nowadays. I remember there were nice cabanas around next to the big pool with free of charge but first come first served based. I woke up around 7am everyday to take one. :)
One drawback of this resort was we got eventually tired of food within 3~4 days. We felt the many same ingredients overlapped across restaurants. In terms of services and food, the Beloved is superior, but if you weigh on swimming in the ocean, I recommend resorts in the hotel zone.

Was the pool heated? Did you think that suite would have been better than the upper suites with the plunge pool?

It was not heated, so it required some time warming up before we dipped in. 😊 Only at the beginning, we felt a little bit chill but got used to it quickly no matter during day and night time. Maybe because the weather was very warm.
Regarding the upper suites, I can’t give you a fair comparison since the first floor suite is the only one I’ve been. The plunge pool looks too small to me. I don’t think anyone could swim there at all. Jacuzzi in the room sounds better than that. I would go with the private pool again if visiting next time. 👍

Plan on going here for my finaces and I honeymoon. Could you briefly mention what some of the misses were? Thank you!

Congrats! :) I directly booked from the hotel website so they provided a complementary round trip transportation from and to the airport.
One sour moment happened to me was at the Cancun airport upon arrival when I went through the custom. They randomly checked on people, and one of them asked us whether I had any cameras other than cellphones. I told her I had a drone, and then they charged me 19% fee of the original price that I purchased many years ago. They all wore military uniforms (scary) and I ended up paying that much. They didn’t accept Amex. Also, I was not allowed to fly my drone in Mexico😝 I recommend not brining any of those in case if you were planning.
Hmm,, on top of what I mentioned in the video, they have premium alcohol selections. Also at restaurants, they don’t use tap water, but use bottled water into pitchers before serving. I am not sure if other Cancun resorts do the same way. I thought it was nice.
I wouldn’t have a high expectation for the beach and the ocean color here. This is the only con about this resort. Other than that, all great. 👍
