I stayed here last September and couldn’t believe how great it was. No one was talking about it but it looks like people are catching on. Like you I also got an amazing price. So nice to feel like I’m staying there again through your video. You’ve quickly become my new favorite travel vlogger. Currently binging your videos at work, please keep the sensational content coming!!!
I subscribed to your channel in the beginning when there were only about 3 hundred subscribers, and since then you've been making great scoring videos throughout the time. Every video you made is informative and I love all of them.
OMG…the scratchy sheets 😂😂😂 You have even gone even further with your detailed information about the room, truly amazing how much work you put in your reviews! You have become so good with your narration, such a nice mix of informative and casual with some comments that made me laugh so hard (eg the kids club 😂) Thank you Kevin, hope you reach 100.000 subs in a couple of weeks 🙏🏼💪🏼
Haha thank you very much! I know eventually I'm going to get kids club comments on all of these Mexico videos... so I figured I'd be extra clear 😂 Thanks as always for watching!
That's an impressive buffet spread! Overall, the hotel looks like one would have an enjoyable and relaxing time there. Thanks again for the high quality review!
Kevin: The No.1 reason I subscribed to you channel, is because you’re 1000% honest, clear, down to earth, completely IMPARTIAL( other UA-camrs are double faced, fake, hidden under the table commission takers, etc, etc), and trustworthy, which makes me feel a lot of respect for you as a person, as a professional in what you do, plus also shows respect from you to all your viewers. Thank you very much, keep up the awesome work, kudos to you !!!
Thanks very much for that. I won't speak about other creators- everyone has their own thing- but I understand lots (a lot more than I ever exepcted lol) of people make hotel decisions based on what I say, so there's a lot of money 'resting' on my honesty- so I'm happy to tell it like it is!
I think the best part is that he actually gives a review with a score compared to others who label their vids as reviews but don’t really let you know how they actually feel about the place
Kevin, great thorough review as always. Amazing looking hotel with very unfortunate beach. I’d probably consider going there half a week and other half in the hotel zone with a prettier beach.
I actually went here for a summer 2023 trip with my dad's side of the family (a group of 13). Some things I'd like to disclose before I state my opinions. I have been other Cancun resorts in the past. In order, I've been Moon Palace (2014), Hyatt Ziva (2016), Finest Playa Mujeres(2018 and 2019), and Hilton Cancun (2023). I was fortunate enough to have my expenses paid through my family. With that said, I unfortunately do not know the rate that my family paid. Nonetheless, I did have a pleasant time at Hilton Cancun, and it was the first trip my dad's side of the family took after COVID happened. We felt like the experience was not as good as other all-inclusive resorts we went to prior to this one. I also unfortunately do not know the rates of that one. But my main take-away is that if you're traveling in a group of 13 or more, your experience may not be as pleasant as going in 3 sets of 4 or 5 people. For instance, my experience at Auma was subpar for the one time my family was there. I also had the provolone cheese thing from Auma, and I had received cheese that was still solid (it was about an inch slab of cheese). It also took an hour for this to show up as well. When I saw how the provolone was supposed to look like through this video, I was dumbfounded as to why I didn't get what was in this video. It was still bland regardless. Also ordered a medium rare New York Strip steak there. Mine was more towards rare when I finally got my steak. We were 2-3 hours in waiting for food. I personally got fed up and the younger adults got room service and drinks. Surprisingly enough, the room service steak was actually pretty good. I am still wondering as to why I didn't get that over at Auma. My other personal gripe was towards Sunan (the Southeast Asian restaurant). We're all Vietnamese and live in an area in the US with very solid Asian food (Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, etc.) We felt that the food there was definitely more Americanized and it did disappoint us. Other than that, I personally still enjoyed my stay at Hilton Cancun, but to a lesser degree compared to my other trips. Since we all had better experiences and had expectations (that most likely grew), I don't think we'll be coming back to Hilton Cancun unless it's at a rate we literally cannot pass on. And don't get me wrong, I am absolutely grateful for the trips I am able to have with my family and the vacation that I was able to have because of them. We still made good memories there and we made the best out of it. Additionally, I am not making these comments because I'm not grateful. I am grateful for this experience. However, based on what my family told me, the rates over at Finest Playa Mujeres (a favorite amongst the family) increased their rates by quite a bit. Hence why my family ultimately took a chance with Hilton Cancun. Additionally, my family overall didn't like Hilton Cancun as much. Again, because we had better experiences elsewhere. I know I may get some flack for the comments that I made. However, I felt that making this comment could be helpful to those who may be traveling as a larger group. Your experiences may vary. But from what I saw from this video, I am willing to give Hilton Cancun another chance, assuming I get a good rate and travelling with a couple of friends compared to a group of 13. Regardless, really love your content. Wish I could do something like this full-time. This would be my dream job, assuming I have money and time to manage something like this. Personally can't wait to watch more of your reviews for potential vacation places
Still not sure how I feel about that tagline. I cannot say or read it without there being an excited football announcer in my head reading along with me. 😂
Going to Cancun in May! Would you have a sneak peak on the one resort you will put on the top of your list for a first time young professional traveller
Thanks for the thorough review, going in two weeks and this was very helpful. How do you recommend making reservations for the restaurants before arrival?
You can get private round trip transportation for $100. There is one major transportation company in Cancun. I highly recommend using a reputable travel agent when making plans for a Cancun vacation or any Mexican vacation for safety reasons.
No, if Sargassum has a scent, it simply smells of the sea while it's in the water. If there were mounds of it piled up and rotting on the beach, that would be a different story.
Hey there, Love your reviews. Greate job! Btw you mentioned you are going to Bali (again). I just booked a holiday in Bali (first time), in Mulia resort and Spa (in Nusa Dua). Do you have a plan to go there? Or you ever been there? Love for some ideas and opinions
They let Ubers in. You need to give the driver name and room no. to the Concierge when the driver's on the way. Uber took ~$20 to the airport. Much better than the $60-$70 shuttles. They have a free shuttle to and from the mall (Hilton Canopy) in Hotel Zone, 3 or 4 times a day.
Tried myself, did not work for me at WA. Got one through when staying at Hilton only by saying it was my friend and even that took 20+ mins. Watched them shut down other people who mentioned “Uber”.
I am curious how come your main booking agents are OTA (not counting FHR) rather than direct? Is it because: You want to avoid the hotel noting on your loyalty profile that you are a reviewer? You want to give a more balanced review without elite status biasing the treatment? You are able to get large discounts? Or is it some combo?
Now it's on a case by case basis based on overall value (I have a calculator to plug in the price and it tells me which platform is best to book and on which card to pay with based on the net price, counting points earned as a rebate). Prior to this Mexico trip 90% of my hotels were booked on Hotels.com before they set fire to their old rewards program. I valued their program and the flexibility it gave me more than any individual hotel group- now that that's gone, I book mostly with hotels directly. An exception is a case like this Hilton where the Expedia price was $200/night less than the cheapest rate through Hilton.
What did you use for transportation from airport to hotel? We are 4 adults and 1 infant. Expedia has the cheapest quote so far $44 one way trip and $100 for round trip. Does that seem reasonable to you?
Yes it’s reasonable and bordering on ‘too cheap’. Make sure you research the company and check on their (real) reviews. Also, makes no sense for the round trip to be more than 2x the one way.
Does “all-inclusive” mean that anything you want at any time unlimited is free (included) ? Like even snacks, drinks, unlimited food, spa treatments, etc?
@@tfft oh lol I thought a couple hundred other viewers would’ve picked up on it also, but u should watch any food wishes video on the UA-cam channel by that name to basically hear yourself lol
I loved the video and how the elevated level of a Hilton product could be ….As a destination resort I could see myself content with this on an all- inclusive basis and would not want to deal with the transport aspect of traveling any distance to and from the property to somewhere that was not worth the effort - thanks as always
I think that's the perfect way to look at this place. I wouldn't fly across the globe to stay there specifically, but if it's a few hours from home, then I'd be pretty happy for some time. Thanks for watching 🩴
Great stuff. Apologies for the fat-finger on the 'like' button. AI? I like the option, but find myself having to try really hard to stay south of eight drinks/day. It's a Catholic thing. And I'll opt for half-board if I think I'll be doing plenty of excursionating, as, increasingly, I do.
Hey love your vids BUT BUT BUT seeing a scorecard between 70-85 at the start suggests the review is going to be boring (not always the case). Could you put it in the notes for the TLDR viewers?
Definitely superior and better deal by far than the Waldorf part of this complex. Big downfall for me is to far from the town. And regarding the bed sheets you can ask hotel to change them over to cotton sheets not scratchy, but for a fee.
Like, the UA-cam ads? Creators don’t actually have any say over how many of those ads the viewers are shown. The only thing we can do is ‘tell’ UA-cam the exact moment when we think an ad would be less disruptive.
@@tfft Yes, I watched 4 different 10-15 minute videos today from different creators. Your video had more ads and longer advertisements than the others but I actually enjoyed your content better than the others. The ads made watching the video frustrating though.. just wanted to mention it in case you have any control over it. Thanks!
Excellent video Kevin. Seems like great value for money, very decent food and really impressive room but no thanks. The Uber situation alone would be a no no for me. That is borderline illegal. Also, the beach is totally unappealing - I don't understand the point of flying to a destination (coming from Europe we are talking 9 hours) when the beach looks like that (Well I do go a lot to Bali so I can' t honestly say anything more re quality of beaches/sea..... hehe) and it seems really crowded in bits of the video (unsurprising given that there are + 700 rooms). I do get it while you fairly gave it such a high score but If I wanted value for money plenty of better options in Dubai with really really good beaches with no seaweed problem and affordable taxis.
Yeah, I had the same thought about Bali- and also about other places in Mexico like Cabo where you can't really swim no matter how beautiful it looks. It's all up to preference, for this one, I'm trying to score from the perspective of someone who would be okay being at a pool-centric hotel, since the vast majority of guests are from within a 3 hour flight. Thanks for watching 🩴
Pools are NOT heated in this resort! Misleading information. We would never go back to this Hilton… pretty new property…. Lots of things were already broken…. Lobby bartenders rude!
There's an advantage to not having much of a beach. I actually hated Cancun. Look at the windy conditions in the video. If you have a large beach with a lot of sand, you'll be subjected to a lot of blowing sand. Really unpleasant. Cancun is just a big resort area. It's not like Acapulco or Puerta Vallarta where you can enjoy the culture of the city in addition to your resort. I much prefer the Pacific side of Mexico.
@@tfftThen you have been fortunate. I stayed in Playa del Carmen once. Once. I got sandblasted. It was awful. Check out the Fiesta Americana in Puerto Vallarta. I have never stayed in the newer resort area of Nuevo Vallarta. I would be interested in your opinion versus the resorts closer to the old town.
Love your content and I’ve been following for about a year. My mother in law is getting married at this resort in July so your very thorough and detail oriented style gave me alot of the answers we were looking for.
@@tfft A lengthy luggage video (I did not think so myself), which is informative, for a product that you genuinely use, like and endorse is a very small token for your self funded honest reviews.
I spent 2 nights at the Hilton Cancun all inclusive, it is a great comfy hotel but it is located in the middle of nowhere , no chance to get outside without a car. I was really disappointed of the beach, it is small, the water looked dark green, not blue, and there was lots of sea weed although they tried to keep it away with the floating barrier. The beach of our Hotel in the Cancun Zona Hotelera was much better and much more Caribbean style. The food from the buffet was ok, but nothing special, wine was good.
Nope you got me on the beach!! Nope, nope!! I want beach, clear waters, lux all inclusive adult ~ I stayed @ big mistake, Arte and swim up!! Nope!! Not worth the price but some restaurants like Mercado AUTHENTIC Mexican cruise were off the hook!! What real Mexicans cuisine is!! The price includes the adventure parks that were ughhhhhhhhh nope!!! No!! Not for me!! The lagoon @ Xcaret Smells of sulfur!! I was there 10days no going back!!
We just returned from this "resort" and your review could not be further from the truth. The AC was broken and the whole place was miserable. We called several days before arrival to add Hilton honors # and make dinner reservations....nothing about the AC was relayed. Read the review and this has been going on for some time. Aside from they major issue the resort is a complete disaster. The whole place despite being only several years old is very worn and dirty. The food is bland and the drinks were sugar water with little to no alcohol. The service was absolutely horrible (except in the seafood/steak restaurant). The main lobby and other locations of the hotel are a law suit waiting to happen. Broken tiles uneven floor and raised levels create tripping hazards that we watched happen and experienced a bad fall ourselves. The beach is small and covered with seaweed. Saw that coming in but the water is always dark and dirty because of the rough waters. Not the blue enhanced advertised. Be weary of anything this channel puts out. Not even close to the reality of the stay.
Seems you’re not really in touch with how reviews work. I reviewed my stay, not your stay. My stay was exactly as I portrayed it to be. If yours wasn’t great, that sucks, but it’s no reason to let the giant chip on your shoulder question my integrity.

That side coming this year as well- but tbf I’ve never experienced blowing sand in the hotel district in Cancun.
I stayed at FA in Puerto Vallarta many years ago. Will be going back to PVR this year but not to the FA- though I do have 2 from Cancun coming.
Love your content and I’ve been following for about a year. My mother in law is getting married at this resort in July so your very thorough and detail oriented style gave me alot of the answers we were looking for.
That luggage add felt a bit too long
Thanks for the feedback- was just about what I planned to say as quickly as possible- not a predetermined length.
@@tfft A lengthy luggage video (I did not think so myself), which is informative, for a product that you genuinely use, like and endorse is a very small token for your self funded honest reviews.
Appreciate that!
🤣 at 700 hotel room and your 700 hotels in one room would be impressive caption 😅
Where there's a will theres a way!
Thanks for sharing ✈️
Nope you got me on the beach!! Nope, nope!! I want beach, clear waters, lux all inclusive adult ~ I stayed @ big mistake, Arte and swim up!! Nope!! Not worth the price but some restaurants like Mercado AUTHENTIC Mexican cruise were off the hook!! What real Mexicans cuisine is!! The price includes the adventure parks that were ughhhhhhhhh nope!!! No!! Not for me!! The lagoon @ Xcaret
Smells of sulfur!! I was there 10days no going back!!
But, how do you really feel? 😅
@@tfft I never did mind about the little things.
