- SCP 4049 is a Keter Class anomaly also known as Pit Beasts.
SCP-4049 is the designation for an extradimensional space, the entrance to which is located behind a steel door in the basement of a former arms factory in Wyoming, USA.
SCP4049 appears as a circular room with a floor consisting of soil, with the walls and a ceiling constructed of a smooth white marble.
The room is 23 meters across, and contains a series of 3 concentric circles of graves, 13 of which have small white marble tombstones.

Definitely getting some Artemis vibes from this. The greek words, the arrows, the hunters, it all makes sense. Especially when you count an elk with an arrow in it, which could be similar to Artemis' deer that were sacred to her. She turned a man into a deer to be torn apart by his own hounds, so in a way, those who are hunting in her territory are being turned into hounds and turned loose on their fellow humans. So in a variation of that story, she turns the hunters into 'hounds' and turns them loose on humans, who are torn apart like the hunter was by his hound. Creepy.
This is the first thing that came to my mind aswell
So very true. Was going to post about this, but you beat me to it. :P
Doing research on the scp I found that the author of the page did that intentionally this scp is based of of artemis
Oh! And no reproductive organs! She was asexual!
AND they were all men, no women
“It’s skin was tough and gamey”
Eating the skin/flesh of instances of SCPs as a “taste test” should be part of the “things Jack bright can’t do”
Yes
I feel like it would be like beef jerky

"The agents retreated once they realized they walked into a spacial anomaly."
Wow. That's a first I've seen here, they usually just keep walking when they discover an anomalous area.
Give these men a raise they have a brain
I was surprised too
I know they're pretty dumb but after doing the same thing a few thousand times they've started to learn at least a little bit...
"Not our department" or "we aren't paid enough to deal with this kind of nonsense"
I think that's because the tasked MTF was Village Idiots. It's Mole Rats who generally deal with spacial areas, so the Village Idiots just got out
It’s crazy how a small creepy pasta turned into such a large and popular fantasy organization. Pretty cool
Did you know the first 173 article draft was posted on 4chan
It wouldn't even call it that. It was just something we found posted on /x/. ARG would be a better descriptor if we have to give it a name. There used to be an SCP number you could call. Dunno if it's still in service.

The term "Scientific creepy pasta" has almost been forgotten. Idk when that was first used though.
I did not really discover it on a website but a freind of mine introduced me to site head and I have been a fan since .
The foundation could use a ladder to see what's beyond the pit. As for the dirt, they should analyze it while still in the pit.
Was thinking the same thing
I would imagine dudes trained for the forrest and small towns arent equipped for spacial shenanigans. But it also could just be the writing.
It is true that people trained to deal with Forrest critters & humans wouldn't be ready to deal with spacial anomalous things.
Once the SCP Foundation came on site though it is a completely different scenario however & simple solutions such as doing tests inside of the anomalous area as well as bringing ladders should of been easy for them.
Heck the normal officers in Wyoming have ladders available.
Anyone else get Artemis vibes from this? There are similarities in this and legends of her turning people into animals when she was wrathful. Great video by the way.

Hold on. I know this is a story but like.... couldn't the researchers give instructions to the D class personnel and send them with a test kit for the dirt to analyze it while inside 4049 and have them radio back the results, even if the D class doesn't know what he's looking at for the results, as long as he follows the directions, wouldn't that work?
Yes but that requires thinking, and most scp authors aren’t aware other people can do that
maybe the results wouldn't be as reliable or it would cost too much?
@@somerandomwizard5799 eeeeh i don't think its quite THAT bad with most scps, but this is def one of those that seem to miss a couple obvious solutions
It could be they're waiting to find if it's safe enough for researchers assuming it's early. But as said sometimes it's plot holes.
It would've all been up to the site director, all faults fall onto their shoulders.
Haven’t watch the full video but in 1:51. I sure hope that those agents are okay because never have I seen legs twist as far back when running or are they SCP’s themselves.
Clearly they're possessed by something. Just look at the 1st and 3rd dude from left to right with their sinister smiles
@@furnoprime9439 mobilizing nearest MTF to contain a possible scp.
I remember back in the day when this channel was sorta new, I used to think that SCPs were actually real anomalies. I was so gullible but I think I wasn’t the only one 😂
Wait until you find out what happens after we die.
I just recently beat Scp containment breach and was wondering what the story behind builder bear or Scp 1048 was. It would be nice to get that one covered
Why not just go read the article about them??
It was in SCP-2295's video
Ok I am about to go watch Scp 2295s video
it's a scary bear bro
Yeah this screams artemis, which in a way is kind of creepy because not going to lie Artemis was one of my favorite Greek goddesses to study about during ancient history classes. But also I'm just putting this out there but I would love an exp cross interaction with this scp and (honestly forgot the number) daemon or the ancient Greek god of fear scp.
Or at the very least have one of the instances of exp 4049 interact with scp035 just to see the masks responds to it if it knows the ancient Greek gods so well.
Thanks
Wait... WHAT? The largest 4049-1 instance was 11 METERS *HIGH?*
Holy shit! I bet that thing was heavier than the biggest Blue Whale ever!
@@aidonpor8211 Yes, but it is also just a _few_ meters _high,_ and just like whales, dogs are sometimes more worth to measure their lengh. So if the *smaller* measurement of those hounds (their height) is 11 FRICKING METERS, immagine how LLOONNGG they are.
YES MY FAVORITE ONE LETS GOO finally being showcased by SCP explained
it nearly never happens, but when an scp is set near where you or family live, at least for me it gives me the heebie jeebies. Makes it just a little bit possible to believe in it in the very back of your mind where you put your superstitions and irrational fears
crazy how much new content you guys do....keep it up 👍
The giant SCP-4049-1 instance at the end of the video probably had really think skin, probably like 7 centimetres thick.
Artemis' god-complex ego is soo big she can't even let somebody hunt like her without killing them with fire and turning them into a god forshaken Manticore
I was waiting for this since the rubber's video! You did a great job as always
“They were disturbed but not surprised” amazing line
Damn, I gotta go to work right now
work can w8
Ok John.
Very interesting one today. I wish all the spcs were this good👍. Nice job!
Now this is a scp 354 like scp
There are a lot of predatory SCP's and not enough prey SCP's leading to the predators hunting humans.
Ehhh. In a lot of cases, it's usually the result of humans basically preying on _everything around them._ Deer, plants, the very ecosystem, and even other humans.
We already created the need for a predator.
@@alchemysaga3745 good point.
I’ve never heard of this SCP before, but I like it! At first I thought it was going to be Sarkic SCP but after thinking about it, I wonder if it is actually connected to SCP-1788 (The Adults) because like the SCP-4049-1’s they have a secondary back up heart, are both very strong and both look very similar to normal humans. Which to me would make this SCP more interesting as SCP-1788 is one of the creepiest SCPs at least to me and could also reveal more about SCP-1788 cause there was never a really solid answer to it.
I was just gonna mention that, but 4049-2 mentioned "her pets" not "people" she must be related to scp 1788 somehow, i think scp 1788 has also another creator just like 4049-2
I knew I'd heard athe secondary heart thing before. Just couldn't remember where.
Good thing the SCP can be killed by conventional arms, I don't like seeing SCPs that are invincible or hard to kill.
That running animation was incredibly special
The fact that the first encounter of scp-4049 was so close to my birthday July 15 that’s actually kinda amazing
Love the content. You guys make work go by just a little bit faster.
It is still fascinating how many MTF teams there are and what for amazing names they have
12:10 "Other security personnel in the facility were rapidly grabbing their weapons and armor from their lockers" If it were like the animation showed it, they would all be dead 💀
A rich guy getting up to something violent, criminal and shady on the private grounds of their rural vacation house?
Color me shocked.
i like how the police car at 4:02 is a rolls royce
Thank you for the video.
These things remind me of the Chimera's in the Exclusionary zone of Stalker. Especially with them being tough to kill and having redundant organ systems.
Great video dr
I love all of your scp videos and my favorite doctor is dr.jack bright and I have to say he's very funny and I get a very good laugh
dr.bright is amazing
Finally an scp that can be killed by bullets
Scp explained: *drops new video about a topic some teenager most likely wrote*

All jokes aside I love these videos. Keep it up.
I love that in the factory on the graves, we see the word 'kuoon' which litteraly means 'of the hounds' ... Even the accent is correctly placed
I love your Channel
I like how happy the D-class guy was the whole time
A Greek goddess whose ire is up is no joke, especially when you have injured or slain her favorite pets.
Nice
I wonder if some researchers could take some gear on site to analyze the soil and marble in person, since it cant be removed without combusting
Cool
God damn the patrol driving a Rolls Royce wraith
Suggestion: SCP - 001 When day breaks SCP - 076
Have they done a 001 and 999 thing yet because I wanna see what It would be doing while humans and pets are getting completely melted because the sun turned against us and decided to do that while others die off of starvation and or dehydration or die from wounds got from others
What would it be doing now ?
Was that a bit too detailed for this being a comment about what 999 would be doing when day breaks ???
@@melissaallen8072 They did do a 999 When day breaks, search it up i think.
Seems like scp 076-2 might love this anomaly
oh god endless "human" killing horrifying
By reading the title, I was pretty sure this had something to do with gladiatorial combat. Looks like I wasn't too far off.
12:03 - And we fire the whole bullet. That's 75% more bullet per bullet.
it's nice that they found an SCP their guns actually work on at least
Scp foundation committed tower defense in containing scp 4049
7:30 I just imagine that the D-class made a Homer Simpson "Ahh!" sound xD
Everyone is enlisted in the SCP Foundation... except for that one dude, you know the dude. ;)
Day nine of asking for a 6113 video. Please. We need this.
10:58 a nose *provides to point at nothing
12:05
Okay, one more time, because a shocking number of animators and other artists get this wrong. Guns, do NOT, shoot the entire round. They only shoot the bullet. The bullet being that little part at the front of the round that looks distinctly different from the casing. The casing, being the brass, tube-like section of the round that houses the powder charge, carries the bullet itself at one end, and has a primer on the other.
I swear it's like a bunch of animators saw the promotional video about the sentry turrets in the Portal games and thought it was real.
Really? There are giant human lion monsters, and the accuracy of how bullets are animated is what bothers you?
But then every animator would just slap down a swarm of little dots instead
Art is as much about communicating the what is being portrayed in the most effective manner as it is about accuracy, so I think it's not exactly the worst thing to draw the whole bullet.
nice ,.
2:24 when a monster is so terrifying that the sofa feet start trembling in fear
The village idiots
My favorite
It’s a hound from The Backrooms. That’s my idea or it goes to the Backrooms by no clipping inside of the warehouse
Gotta love the grim sense of humor apparently shared by all MTFs
I am thinking there will be a major event when all of the graves have headstones
1:51 The legs are the goffiest thing I have seen all day.
Yo
You are the first
How do they make animations so fast
I asked that too
These are done well in advance. Either weeks or months before...
that cover story though: a group of rabid grizzly bears tore down a house like some kind of freak tornado...must be volibear's cousins.
It's nice to know powerfuk anomaly, but weaker than foundation 4049-2 must have been furious. Good, leave us alone, we are cold, but can be as cruel as 106 when needed
Making me think of that back room monster lol
A Rolls Royce wraith for a patrol car, must be nice
You should make a video of
Scp 682 vs 123
Just finished last vid and yass I'm earlyyyy
I know people are making connections to this and a story about Artemis, and I agree, but does this remind anybody of the adults scp? I just forgot the scp number designation. But I was reminded by the changing of the human anatomy in an uncanny way and even possibly “improving” the person or having it be a punishment but that was all I could connect.
What if you do the chemical analysis inside the place or can you throw it out onto a table do a quick rough analysis on something that's on fire?
The mtf's name made me chuckle
Is there any scps in Oklahoma If so can you do a video on it
The village idiots is hands down the best mtf name.
Ohhh if this isn’t an introduction of the Greek/Roman gods into the SCP, ima be MAD
Why did they talk about the reproductive sistem of the 4049-1? Why was it necessary? My theory is that they talked about it so the *Artists* would not have ideas with a giant creepy monster.
8:20. Bruh, I’m I the only one who noticed what they did? There is no way that w unintentionally looks cute
You need to do the task force elephant guns
4:10 “a website a few counties away”
That cliffhanger tho
Those are m1 carbines loaded with 7.62x33mm pistol ammo slightly smaller but with the trade off of higher velocity then the 9x19 mm of the P90 so it is understandable how the 4049 instance experienced more pain when introduced to the m1 carbines the carbine might have been modified by the foundation to have fully automatic firing capabilities and some anomalous magazines due the small mag of 15 rounds the m1 carbine can not sustain fully automatic fire without having to be reloaded frequently
Just searching through the vids tryna find some I haven’t watched, turned out I haven’t watched this one
I’d like to see SCP-3927
A few weeks ago i had a theory about hummans refuted first coming put a grave, this scp oblidirated theory
Ooohh another anomaly that I don't know of yet now terrified of.
Day 334 of asking the O5 Council to use SCP-1968 to create a universe in which 682 doesn't exist.
MAKE IT A YEAR BABY!
Can we give 682 to some other universe ???
Like we don't need that reptile anymore we got plenty more that don't wanna kill all humans and are full on like immortals.
And that don't need 3088935 attempts to kill it and only never succeed.
Best we could do is knock it out for a bit.
So give it to some other universe their problem not ours.
Like can we do that ???????
I'm mad the task force isn't called the village people

me: thats like saying is scp-3199 human?
0:33 14th July is National fest in France, is that a coincidence ?!
Could they not do a soil analysis inside the arena?
Or bring a ladder to get over the wall?
Please do a video about SCP-336 or SCP-5732 !
Here a idea fill the entire room with concert the one on the outside prevent the door from opening and if they do the thing not going to get far.
why he throwin it back like that tho🥵
Could you do a video on something called the aristocrats. I don’t know the exact scp number for them but they seem cool because I saw them in a contaminant breach
I think they already did

Next you should do scp 6204 scp explained...
Here's some info about them that would help you make the video
Item #: SCP-6204
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-6204 is currently contained at Site-24's Croft Wing and is to be fed no less than three times daily. SCP-6204 may be artificially inseminated for research purposes with prior approval from Project Director Mark Bolan, and all resulting eggs are to undergo x-ray analysis. Depending on the size and threat posed by each SCP-6204-A instance, these may be placed in an incubation chamber and permitted to hatch as normal, or placed in cryonic preservation. All current instances of SCP-6204-A are kept in Hangars 10 through 15, and are to be fed according to each species' dietary requirements (see Supplementary Document 6204-B for specifics).
SCP-6204-A-38 is currently kept in Containment Chamber A-32, which has been refurbished with bookshelves, one television set, one computer with SCiPnet access, and specialized furniture accounting for its non-humanoid physiology. SCP-6204-A-38 may leave its containment unit at its leisure and should be accompanied by no less than two members of security staff at all times.
444px-Emperor_Penguin_Manchot_empereur.jpg
SCP-6204 prior to entering containment.
Description: SCP-6204 is a mature female Aptenodytes forsteri (emperor penguin), recovered from London Zoo in 1997. When inseminated through natural or artificial means, SCP-6204 will produce an egg corresponding to an extinct species of land-based animal, ranging from those which co-existed alongside humans to those not active since the Permian period. These eggs are typically laid and hatched as normal, although some instances may be too large for SCP-6204 to deliver naturally, necessitating removal via surgery.
Hatched instances (designated SCP-6204-A) will behave in a manner consistent with current paleontological understanding. Despite significant changes in the Earth's atmosphere and climate over geological timescales, no instances of SCP-6204-A have exhibited any significant adverse effects. Similarly, all instances of SCP-6204-A are capable of digesting most forms of plant and animal matter and have demonstrated unusual resistance to most modern diseases.
The following is an abridged list of recorded instances of SCP-6204-A:
Raphus cucullatus (common dodo) - Late Quarternary Period
Gastornis gigantea - Early Paleogene Period
Tyrannosaurus rex - Late Cretaceous Period (Placed in cryonic preservation prior to hatching, as Site-24 does not currently have the means of housing and sustaining an adult T. rex)
Pterodactylus antiquus - Late Jurassic Period (Request to cross-breed this specimen with SCP-346 for research into pterosaur reproduction is currently pending Project Director approval)
Hylonomus lyelli1 - Late Carboniferous Period
Addendum: On 01/26/2011, SCP-6204 produced an egg measuring some 13.5 cm in length, and weighing 650 g. X-ray analysis found this instance to contain an embryonic theropod corresponding to no known species, notable for possessing an unusually large cranium.
Following a six-month incubation period, this instance hatched, with the resulting offspring (initially designated SCP-6204-A-38) showing an unexpected level of intelligence and self-awareness from an early age. Following approval from Project Director Mark Bolan, the entity was placed under the supervision of Senior Researchers Walter and Madeline Madgett, whose efforts to familiarize it in language, reasoning, and mathematics exceeded initial expectations.
While SCP-6204-A-38 (known by the given name of Sinclair) is incapable of reproducing human speech patterns, it has demonstrated fluent understanding of English, Spanish, and Mandarin, and is capable of communicating through a specialized form of sign language devised by Foundation linguists.
Due to its proficiency in chemistry, geology, and paleobiology, Sinclair has been appointed Class-E SCNH2 status and is currently serving as a junior consultant at the Foundation's Department of Paleontology. No further instances of this species (tentatively designated Sapiensaurus) have since been produced by SCP-6204.
No confirmed biological remains of Sapiensaurus have as yet been identified. However, the Foundation has since unearthed the fossilised remnants of several similar entities in Australia, South America, and Antarctica, dating to approximately 120 million years ago. These specimens were found to have been larger in size than Sapiensaurus, although with reduced cranial capacity, suggesting they may represent one or more ancestral species.
Since 2018, the Department of Geological and Oceanic Abnormalities confirmed the presence of non-naturally occurring polymers in the Earth's crust, dating to roughly 116.5 million years before present. Several coeval artefacts have since been discovered on the lunar surface and in interplanetary space, confirming the existence of a technologically sophisticated civilization active during the Lower Cretaceous Epoch, presumably corresponding to Sapiensaurus. Notably, this civilization's collapse appears to have been concurrent with the Aptian extinction event, the cause of which remains disputed3. Further investigation is ongoing.
Footnotes
1. Earliest known undisputed reptile.
2. Sapient Communicative Non-Humanoid
3. Suggested non-anomalous causes include extraterrestrial impact, volcanism, and oceanic acidification.
Ignore the emperor penguin jpeg 😳
My old devices youtube doesn't have that feature since it's the 4th generation iPad
Why don't they get a ladder and climb out above the wall? It would be interesting to see what's out there, I would imagine a forest just filled with those hounds
If you didnt get it. The hounds come from the graves. I dont think they would be in that forest. But I do think there was a pocibility of a whole other dimension
