We live in the US but still and always have adored this song. We had a dog who the vet said was part Kelpie. First heard it when my girls were babies on Disney I think. We still sing it to this day. Great song. We even sing it to the cats since we don't have pups anymore.
Love Don Spencer and this song was awesome. What I found strange about Don in the 90's was that his series of CD's and cassette tapes were pouring in, but not many series of songbooks or music videos.(???)
I loved it when Don would appear on Play School when I was a kid. He appeared as a regular presenter from 1968 to 1986 and would make an occasional appearance from 1987 to 1999. But I liked him better as a regular presenter!
I thought it was Bob the helpie. This only appeared on American television once in the mid 90's. Possibly Nick jr. Or at least I only saw it once but remembered it for a long time.
randomly popped into my head today. about 25 years after I last heard it.

The part where he barks and makes the lady drop her groceries makes me laugh every time.
Don Spencer has many great songs, but none will ever be as good as this one.
he's the Bob Dylan of Aussie Kids music imo.
Nostalgia am I right lol 😂
Still know every word! The best Don Spencer song!
Love this song as a kid. Glade to find it. Thought it was called Bobby kelpie. Lol
"sHeEp ArE cUtE, sHeEp ArE bEuTe, ShEeP aRe SoFt AnD cURlY".
Those lyrics probably wouldn't fly today lol
It was a WAY more innocent-minded time
I used this song on my dog and he went mental
Used to think it went "call for bob to help me"
