Just chose one face and delete, it converts that plane to solid....fillet does the same, but you need to delete bunch of facets to remove fillet and to be able to make one from SOLID command group.....
The video was quite informative and would be very helpful but it uses some commands to accomplish this that isn't in the hobby personal version. Do you have the process for the free version in a video as well? I just don't use any cad program enough to buy the more expensive options. Sorry
I'm in the same boat. You can do this is the free version but have sever limitations as you know. They don't give you the one-click "all faces smooth" option. I just spent over an hour fiddling with removing triangles one by one, with over 1/2 of then throwing an error claiming it could not be removed. Hobbyist use this program a lot for 3D printing so this feature is very important. Do you think limiting our ability to easily do this wasn't a calculated decision? It was. I need to find someone with a license to convert the file. What a hassle.
@broderp I agree. A tool to create A need fir the hobbies to register. I think we use to be able to but now it has been removed from free version. Between that and creating a surface loft of variable widths on top a new model. Must be something else removed. Been fighting with it for 2 weeks and got niwhere.
Hello fiend i m tryin to convert stl file to g code solid body but my 3d design a wheel rim after i convert missing the center. You know how i can fix that?
when I do this process, and export or convert the solid back to stl for printing, the size is changed. Any way to maintain basic dimensions throughout this process?
We need to buy the prismatic method, do you have a free method
Step 1: pay for the subscription to access the most valuable part of tutorial lol
Yes its dumb. The feature is available if you have the educational version of fusion 360
@@andrewmaksimovich2432 so is this why when i use "faceted" that I get a tone of lines through the faces? I cant even delete the faces. Sucks
bro i get free fusion 360 for ever and i don't know why its my4th year without paying a dime
@@xXSasSusXx there is a paid and free version

FreeCAD has this, to some degree. I have been using it to convert STL to STEP, and then import into Fusion.
Only for the paid version! Don't waste your time here.

Works for student version aswell

@annefox2013 it absolutely does!
Thank you for a detailed Stl to Solid tutorial that has no messing around and clear mouse clicks. and this info worked fine.
Thanks for your kind response.
THIS is the real tutorial I was looking for, not that "transform to mesh" thing that create infinite faces.... Many thanks!
Awesome! Also thank you for picking dope relaxing ambient music in the bagck ground. Not epileptic acid pop or whatever they usually do.
this is a really amazing video indeed. however, why can't i change the view like you did at the end of the video ? there's no mesh display selection
Thank you.. Right to the point no talking and wasting time.. Very good video. Peace man.. Rolfie
THANK PAL!!!! I WAS ASKING TO MYSELF TO MUCH TIME HOW TO DO THAT. YOU SAVE ME A LOT OF TIME
!!!!
Genius and simple, straight to the point, I subbed just because of this video. Great Job.
what layer height do you use for the sizing boards? the text does not print correctly
hmm. seems I must pay to use the prismatic feature. Is there any other way to turn an STL file into something that can be edited?
Hmmm yes but lengthy process

1 hour i and 50% done. gave me a warning. "more than 50,000 tirangles conversion will take a considerable amount of time." hopefully this works.
I find when I import mesh its always scaled up like 100x, Thanks for the video it made things easy to convert.
This guide has more substance than my life.
tysm! it's 1am and I needed to convert something for a design review
Wahou !!!!
Thanks a lot. I did not know this method.
Many thanks !!!🙏
hey thanks for this. Im sure the free method works just fine. Im printing it now.
Been looking for this forever
Thank you.
How much is an Educational license? I'm going to have to get one to get full access to this program.
prismatic is only available in paid fusion 360.
:( the video is sucks. I want free trips
The model is kind of easy enough to be converted without prismatic, with just a bit of surface modeling
Does this save as 3dm file? Sorry I’m new to this.
turn off face groups is not available, do you know how to turn of the faces after the solid body is created? thanks for your work!!
just what i needed
Such a valuable video, thanks so much!!!!!!
Thank you for your valuable comment 😊

I don't have Mesh Display in the low menu, I'm stuck after generating faces...

Whenever I did that it scaled it up a lot. 😢
Can this be done with trial version?
Low facet model possible .. mine is trial version.
Thanks
Thanks!
would be nice if it worked for the personal license
Thank you😢
Thanks!!!
thanks, it was realy helpfull
Welcome sir
Prismatic is paid so.... this video is click bait. ;)
When i made video at that time it was free 😂😂
PAID FEATURE? : (
Video is very confusing as he has left out some steps.
hello i want to export a stl format in any solid format like .sldprt How can ı do? thanksss...
Direct export is not possible.
First open stl in Solidworks.. then you can save as .sldprt... But the internal geometry save as stl...
Good
Thank you.

prismatic has been disabled for free users
prismatic is a paid feature now :(
