Everybody I know including myself loves there TPI bikes no reliability issues whatsoever. Very smooth linear power, killer in the tight technical singletrack. Sometimes they do need to be tuned and fiddled with out of the box to get running really good.

Yeah I have had 5 different tpi bikes with zero issues. I have a tbi TX300 and a '23 XCW300 and prefer the tpi.

Def not a fan. Haven’t had reliability issues but I don’t like the rubber band feeling of the throttle response.

The new TBI is definitely better than the TPI but also requires some tuning. A tuned Vortex ECU would really wake it up.

I know they’ve had their hiccups, but anyone I’ve talked to outside of hardheaded diehard carb guys, say the tpi worked great. I’ve only justed started to hear people regurgitate how “horrible” tpi was after they announced tbi for the 24’ bikes… in fact I’ve seen/heard a good number of people complaining about fouling plugs on tbi. I find that some people have trouble drawing the distinction between good marketing, and actual knowledge/experience.

Youse guys supply the bike and I bring all my riding gear. It would be a blast to ride with you and Spencer. My calendar looks open in November.

The final gearing is same even with 45 rear....smaller sprocket kess prone to damage
Problem with constantly modifying bikes is your always looking to do it, even when you dont have too
And you become super picky and when its over you need another from boredom
    Just ride it and enjoy

I recognize this place (IDAHO!) but won't be more specific. Are you going to put out a video of the ride as well?
I rode one of these XCWs yesterday. Suspension was already messaged by ProTune so can't compare OEM. The bike feels a bit busier, yet stay's a bit higher in the stroke (I feel more comfortable with higher in the stroke), when compared to my '21 TE300 w/Lucky's and National. My TE felt more planted and had more initial compliance over rocks and roots. Riding was in tight Rocky Mountain single track. XCW feels small, or rather cockpit feels cramped, especially when standing (I'm 6'-3"). I would see if I could swap top triple clamp, and maybe see if I could get pegs a bit farther back (maybe a bit lower too?) to get more room in the cockpit. Engine power seems a bit quicker climbing through mid range, yet very linear. The bike I rode did have a Turbine Core 2.1. I've been buying Austrian built linkage bikes since 2012. They do get hung up more than PDS. I do prefer the over-all performance of linkage, but in most mountain single track I don't realize a huge gain over a properly set up PDS. I do get annoyed when the linkage bottoms out because it hits a rock when I'm not expecting it. Logs are less of a hindrance (to linkage) for me, but it can be quite noticeable on slanted logs (slanted down the fall line) when crossing them on side-hill trails. Rest assured, my linkage bike kicks sometimes too, and I've never had one of my PDS bikes kick so bad that I couldn't handle it. Over all, I don't see myself dumping my very well set up '21 TE for a '24. When I do replace my TE, I'm probably going to go with and XCW. I want to see how PDS works with a National shock.
I might give this trials tire a try. I used to run the MT43 Pirelli and loved it. In my experience the Dunlop 803 had better traction but did not last nearly as long. MT43 was DOT approved as well. I went away from them when I saw the Kenda Equilibrium out performing. It seemed to have just as much traction yet worked more like a knobby when cornering, breaking, through the mud, and higher speed stuff. Hybrid tires have come a long way. I now prefer the IRC JX08 as my go to mountain tire. Whether, or not, having a trials tire "says old" is a silly consideration, and simply wouldn't have any weight for me when deciding. Things like performance, cost, and availability would.
As always Jay, you put out a good video. I don't always agree with every one of your modifications, but you always have thoughtful rationale when deciding what to modify. Keep up the good work.

@@dirtbiketv1 I just don't like the unpredictable kick of the PDS, even when valved. Single pivot has it's limitations. Linkage bikes settle into corners better. I have owned XC and XC-W. The closer ratio XC transmission is a better fit for most offroad riding. XC-W transmission sucks if you go up few teeth on the rear sprocket, you will basically lose first gear. I really don't see the downside to just buying the XC.

@@user-pp5or5og4k OK - last reply - I do way better on emails- So I am not a big PDS fan-- but if you have the luxury of multiple bikes the PDS is great on the trails and on our Dualpsports and no link is for sure better getting over logs and gnarly stuff and why most hard enduro KTM guys ride the PDS bikes- With that said I prefer linkage on all of our MX bikes and our 350XCF that we ride more higher speeds-- this 300XCW is a great all around trail bike but I think gonna be at home in the tight stuff- Also if you want to power a headlight or fan etc the XCW has the higher output stator stock- that is all- you wont go wrong either way if your riding a dirt bike--- I always say that there are guys on $2000 bike having just as much fun as me on a new one--
