Thanks so much for your video, I couldn’t have done it without your help! One thing that seemed to help me get the spring off the spindle was to grasp it with pliers and unscrew it rather than pull it off. Once again, thanks a million!
Great video and it showed exactly what I had to do as well as what not to do! Thank you, I saw this video just before I placed an order for a new fridge freezer!!
You’re very welcome and I’m happy to help! And thank you so much for the super thanks!! Thank youuuuuuuuu!!!! 👌👍🤝👌👍🤝 glad your freezer is all fixed and sorted.
Kenwood fridge freezer started making a buzzing noise so I came to this video and it’s explained exactly what was wrong and what I needed to do to fix it. Ordered the part from Amazon and it arrived next day for £30. Fitted it today and it was pretty easy with your walk though guide. You saved me a fortune as I thought my fridge was done for. Amazing video I can’t thank you enough! Although I popped the little spring off with a butter knife 😂. Thanks again my man!
I'm jealous of all the ways people have removed that spring easier than me 😆😆 😭 I'm glad I helped! 👌 Please hit subscribe massively helps me out, enjoy your rejuvenated fridge freezer! 👌👌
My motor has gone , an its nice to find on UA-cam the exact model an the way you have presented the problem , especially not pushing the fan to far down on the spindle , well done my friend 👏, when my motor arrives I will be watching this video again 🤝
Thank you so much for this video. Allowed me to replace a faulty fan motor in my fridge. Without the video wouldn’t have been able to. Absolutely brilliant!
I'm not gonna lie pal, I was having second thoughts when I was trying to get that spring off but I persevered and your instructions were superb. Thank you very much buddy
I read online beforehand that it was quite easy to do so thats why I decided to tackle it myself. I stumbled across your video literally just before I started but I'm so glad I did. I wouldn't have been able to do it without this video....I'd probably be in A & E now with electric shocks and a spring lodged in my eye ball. Fair play to you old chap
Super video, yes it seems a bit slow but it lets you know it not all plain sailing, like removing the spring holding the fan on the spindle, - just pulling it with a pliers - no chance -- ''you'' teased the top of the spring off first , so l did like wise, l used a pointed tool then it came of easy with pliers. --- l too got the new fan off ebay cost £21 inc post. You saved us £625 as the wife was talking about buying a new one. l noticed the fan did more than one model of fridge freezer, seems the guts are all the same, they just a move a nob and call it something else and ajust the price. Ya good video. many thanks. Chow baby .uk
Brilliant, thanks for filming this, I have precisely the same issue, with the exact same fridge, so I feel totally up for tackling the problem after watching you doing it. Thanks man!
You're very welcome 👌 I'm happy to help, get it tackled and save that dollar 💰💰 and if you really want 😎😎 be my newest subscriber 🥳🥳🥳 thank you for your kind comment🥳
Thank you so much for these clear, step-by-step instructions. DIY - esp. this kind - is not my forte, but you nailed it - and so did I ! Thanks for a great post.
Legend. I got the prop off by opening the back of the motor and drifting the pin down through the back. Leave the spring on. Then just push new motor through the back.
Perfect thanks! Just found my same fridge model was making this noise the last couple of weeks. I imagined the worst. Hopefully an easy fix. I'll remove the panel and check it out. It is still blowing but noisy.
Cheers mate for doing this video. Much easier to deal with this trouble! Followed step by step and the freezer is up and running as new. Need you a beer!!!👍🏻😄
Very good tutorial… a few things I would add is just check the fan spins before putting the end plate on just to confirm it works and also I opened the old part and found out that the only thing that went was the rubber washer around the spindle so if that could be purchase and replaced would be a cheap easy fix
Absolute legend. Perfect guide and this video saved me a few hundred quid on a new fridge freezer. If I could like the video more than once - I’d be hammering the like button. 👍
The food at the top can start to defrost, and the food at the bottom will freeze like crazy. The fan, when it's working, keeps the cold air circulating so it all stays evenly cold 👍
Which direction is the fan supposed to spin? I installed the new one (not original but a match) and it is spinning anticlockwise! Looks like the blade is supposed to spin clockwise and blow cold air out of the vents, mine spinning anticlockwise is doing the opposite. Possibly the coloured wires were the wrong way round as I needed to change the connector. Do you know if the middle connector (red wire) is the 5v feed and the purple and black are the 12v power cables? Update: Yes as expected - I put the old noisy fan back in and it is spinning the other way. I just need to swap the 12v+/- around. I'll test which ones with my voltmeter but expecting the black and purple with the red carrying the 5v I see the motor I purchased is non reversible!! How annoying. I won't get a refund either. Only option I see is to try and use the parts to rebuild the old (mainly the bearing shaft that has gone on mine). Or buy another one from overseas (original).
How long did you leave it rumbling mine started the night before last and we ordered the part yesterday but it wont be coming till next Wednesday at the earliest (6days after it started) but now the freezer is so loud and im worried it will break something els still being on. Plus its not staying as cold as it should be. Should i cut my losses and empty the freezer and turn it off now till i can change the motor or should i try and hold out ?
Mine rumbled for just under a week before it conked out. When it finally did retire, I found that the bottom of the freezer side was extremely cold and the top was defrosting to we ended up eating everything from the top and left what the remainder at the bottom which was still cold. What I find from doing this is that the dying noisy fan is just there to circulate cold air. So IN THEORY as a temporary measure if you could find a way to circulate cold air in there you'll be ok until the motor arrives. Perhaps stick a fan in there somehow. Just an idea but I don't know how that could be managed.
@@ColdStream yh mine has all but konked out now and yh top side is starting to defrost bottom half is staying coolish but not completely frozen. I just hope the new motor comes quick lol cuz its making some hell of a sound lol

Great video, can anyone who's done this shed any light please, I did this once and the new motor didn't work, I feared the worst thinking I'd killed the fridge completely but when I put the onld motor back in it it still worked so I thought the new one must be a dud, returned it and got another from an different seller which arrived today,, being a bit wiser, I thought I'll just get to the bit where I pull the plugs out and then try the new one to make sure before I pull the rest of the guts out..
