I'm excited for Stargate as long as they don't put the sjw woke political statements all over it. You can make good TV without all the work sjw woke stuff. You can have all of that and still not ruin it look at Star Trek TNG they were able to make little bit of statements here and there have representation here and there and yet it was great loved it nowadays though they're ruining everything they can get their hands on
Somebody in Amazon board is a big fan of everything fantasy and sci-fi. Fingers crossed. 50 million is nothing. They are putting 200 million into the first season of the Wheel of Time and 500 million in the first and second seasons of their Middle Earth show.

I don't know, Amazon announced that they will cancel The Expanse after only 2 Amazon produced Seasons, before the first episode that they produced was even released, before they had any metrics how well it will be doing, that is not a good sign. The Expanse Story is far from over, lots of books that have not been adapted yet. ...and of course one of the Actors managed to get himself cancelled and fired.
I hate Amazon fired the actor from the expanse with no proof the same way they did Johnny Depp. How about we let these women go to the police and you know go through the court of law and see if there is any validity before we ruin a persons life on hear say. Wait there evidence is so flimsy and suspect at Amazon that they reneged and never filled Us in on the investigation when they said they would be fair and OPEN nor did they have enough to prosecute him on anything other than women getting mad that men hit on women. The man's not even married. And women majority of the time about ninety-eight percent of the time aren't held accountable for lying in court, even when it's been found out later and the accused has had their life ruined. Hopefully we'll get to see that one or 2% time when Amber Heard gets hers finally the truth comes out. I wanted a new StarGate Series for so long! Given what disasters most remakes or continuations have become lately, I really hope this gets not messed up in the typical current fashion once studios get into “content producing and addressing new audiences mode” (... Star Trek etc.). The strong involvement of the original cast and makers makes me slightly hopeful. We will see...
I want Jack O'Neil sitting on the side of Atlantis fishing. Daniel Jackson reading a recently found virtual book of the ancients and Sam building a quantum telescope to see the weather on Mars or another planet.
He is NOT too old! He is still sexy & gorgeous. And Stargate lost a incredible asset when RDA left. He probably is not interested in being a regular cast member, but just doing a few guest appearances & cameos would really make a difference in the success of any new Stargate. And, speaking for my generation, we will be watching for the long haul. Long live Jack O'Neill/RDA!!!

There is one additional reason for optimism -- season 6 is (supposedly) the final season of The Expanse. So, there will be an open slot for a space-based sci-fi show.
That is NOT a positive. They cancelled The Expanse before the first Amazon made episode was even released, without any real metrics on how well it did and the Series will be left unfinished, there are entire Books of source material left that have not been adapted, imagine Game of Thrones had been cancelled after Season 6 and the Books had been completed. ...why would anybody do that? I see this as a very bad Omen for Stargate. Do you want the next one to end up like SGU or Dark Matter again, cancelled in the middle of the Series?
it's a streaming site, the notion of "slots" is completely meaningless these days, as there is no "Friday evening death slot" - indeed, that's a good time for geeks to watch shows if nothing else is going on that evening.
@@ZeroB4NG The show was always planned to take a break at that stage. I'm still reading book 4 right now, but I know that 20 years pass between books 6 and 7. I can't imagine that a plot set twenty years later can just be pulled back for the sake of regular season releases without massively altering the story.
@@chouseification while the notion of "slots" is completely irrelevant in the streaming age, what they do have is a set budget for shows with a given target audience. The Expanse wrapping up until irl time has passed will free up a good chunk of that budget that could potentially go to stargate. I doubt that after all this time we'll immediately see an Expanse-level budget, but a piece of that could easily go to getting a stargate show out there to test the waters in a much more meaningful was than Origins did.
Also if anyone from Amazon is parsing the comments... This will have me keep my Prime sub. I subbed for The Expanse and that's going to be done after the next season. Take my money Amazon, make me some Stargate!
@@ZeroB4NG There's a reason I was going to cancel my Prime after. I think with the forced divergence though it's probably best to end it early. When GoT had to diverge it got bad, and then the show runners got bored of doing it so they drove it into the ground ASAP. At least we can be relatively sure that's not going to happen in S6 of The Expanse. That's the only silver lining though.
@@StudioBrock1337 Yeah judging by the end of season five they may skip a lot of the side content and just bring us the main events of books eight and nine, (can't wait for book nine!). After The Expanse I really hope they bring back SGU that was a series that could have used an Amazon sized budget and more time to develop the story!
@@anydaynow01 I just head canon SGUs end. In my mind they fell short of the next galaxy and the mission failed. Is it a good conclusion? Nah but it helps close up the series for me.

There's only SG-1 and SGA :) - that other show ain't Stargate, son...it's wanna be new Battlestar Galactica, with too much personal drama, almost no character growth (only Eli grows a little, all the others do not!), too much infighting etc. etc....not entertaining at all, I'd rather watch a sitcom than that (and I despise sitcoms with a passion...I'd rather do a B-Movie-Marathon than watch any sitcom!)
Great News! I have the box sets and become depressed when I get close to the end episodes. A few days ago I wished there would have been more seasons, but realized that probably would never happen. This is one time I like being wrong. I'm sure as more people hear about this, there will be more support.
I was disappointed when Stargate SG1 was no longer being shown on Amazon Prime. I suspect it will be returning soon given this information. Now if he can get the rights to Eureka and make new episodes that would be perfect.
there are a handful of those shows (that SyFy cancelled way too soon) that deserve another season or three - another one that comes to mind is Defiance.
I have never had the slightest interest in Amazon Prime and I have been a customer since 2007. But if they restart Stargate I will subscribe the next day...
I might, depending on how they do it. A lot of these revived tv shows have been ruined by politics, or they make it completely different than the original... Like Stargate Universe... I hated STU.

Even in this comment-section, i see people think SGU was good. That makes me genuinly sad. That just shows they never even knew what was making SG1 and SGA good, if they just didnt noticed it was Gone. Its pretty obvious when something vanishes and you dont even notice; what a shame.
I almost cried when finding out about Amazon buying MGM, they have the money and resources to make this real, it has been 10 long years since a true stargate series WE ARE READY for a new one!!
So they've now brought back Stargate and the Expanse! (Also.....Netflix brought back Manifest). Awesome. It gives me hope that perhaps the two Canadian Sci-fi shows Dark Matter and Travelers can be brought back as well!!!!!!!!!! NEVER GIVE UP HOPE, PEOPLE!!!!!

With Brad as showrunner, this will help keep it on track and fit in with previous shows. Alumni actors returning sounds great! Bring back Shepard and Mackay, two of my favorites! Sam and Daniel Jackson expected to return is excellent. Lets hope it happens in the next year ahead!
If they bring Sheppard back, they should make him at least a brigadier general in charge of Atlantis. Joe Flanigan is 54 years old now. Way too old for front-line work.
Hopefully the suits will keep their noses out of Brad’s creative business. Back in the day network suits wrecked a lot of show, Buck Rogers comes to mind. SG U was trash. It was just awful in every respect. It ruined the Stargate franchise. Everything about SG U was terrible hence it got cancelled. SG 1 10 seasons. Atlantis 5 seasons. SG U ??
@@greatyellow7351 that’s your opinion. If memory serves me correct, syfy kept changing around the viewing slot and nobody knew when it was supposed to come on. It definitely had the best graphics and darker story plot, which some people didn’t like I suppose.
Beyond excited! I’m almost 66 years old and a diehard Stargate franchise universe fan. Please give us more. I would like to know where Destiny is before I die. That series ended too soon. And so many more questions. We want more. Please. ☺️
I hate SGU. It had a weak foundation, they made very poor story choices that were bizarre and made no sense, and they took a lot of it too far. I don't mind going dark. They were going cynical to try and rip off Ron Moore's Battlestar Galactica.
I love Firefly. Absolutely LOVE it. That said, its time has passed. I can’t imagine a show without Wash or Book. I know people will say: “It will take place 20 years later, and Wash & Zoe’s kid can be part of the crew.” I’m just afraid that the magic is gone.
stargate must fit in with the previous series. not a redirection / reboot. something that complements what comes before. this also means future new viewers will have a rich history to explore. also closure of SGU, SGA plots, personally i hope we get some of the characters returning. the trend to revision shows with current mindset is really ruining these classics. they are shows to enjoy and chill out on, not to ponder why humanity kinda sucks. i can do that with interacting with people, not when watching travel to alien worlds pls.
All the boxes must be checked off first. Don't forget. All the races must be represented (some overly so) and all the genders, and of course a healthy dose of Mary Sue.
I remember SG-1, Atlantis and universe from childhood… already watched like 3 or 4 times 😊 still love it I would watch that new tv show if it will be like the old one.
BSG also came after too long, and it was a success. Stargate reminds me franchises like star wars, star trek, there's a full world to explore there with many lore, stories and characters to develop. Look at the series that came from star wars like the clone wars, Rebels, the mandalorian, etc... It only needs someone with a passion to make this epic and a company willing to put the money. The fans will always go for it (in case of sw, we even went to the crap lol).
Amazon aint much smarter than Netflix, but sure smarter, soooo... i dont know what to think/feel about all this. Will Stargate become like Modern Doctor Who? Trash? What will happen? Sex Sells and Wokeness and more; will it all fuse into one Big Mess? Or not?
i think it's less about SJW stuff and more about the tone and the writing. remember: in SG1 Sam also said something about how it doesn't matter whether her reproductive organs are on the inside or outside... but the tone of the show was light and fun, and the writing was fantastic (especially from S3 or 4 onward) and that allowed us to ignore/forget the more cringey parts. when people critisise Star Trek Discovery (for example) they focus on the SJW stuff, but you have to keep in mind that that show is also terribly written, looks ugly (dark and miserable, low saturation) and it's not clever or witty, and the characters don't have much of a connection to each other (unlike in SG1). i think these other elements are way more important than some cringey line here or there..
Characters I want to see in a New Stargate Series! Eli Wallace, Rodney McKay (Rush can have a stasis pod 'accident') , Vala Mal Doran, John Sheppard, Ronon Dex !! and no gate room is complete with out Walter ! Bring it on already :)
I would love to see them come out with another series. It would be great to find out what happened in Stargate universe. I do think they have to be careful there’s a lot of backstory to stay consistent with.

As People would rather illegally download a show from the internet than wait 6-8 Months as the cast of the shows, for instance, like the "ArrowVerse" series' discuss the latest episode with fans on Twitter, after the episode aired. Which means Fans can either get spoilers or unfollow them.

@@BartJBols Its not always that simple, Anyone could try and start a hashtag trend, but it way more effective when you get established social hubs like these gusy to kick it off and then contribute. It all comes down to exposure and the quicker you can get the trend noticed and going, the better. Don't get me wrong, I do like this comment because I too see a lot of people say "I think that x needs to happen" but then do nothing to push it. I have seen it plenty of times and I have had a lot of discussions with old friends who had habits of saying they "wished they did this" or that it would be "cool to do that" and so on and I usually retort with "Why are you talking about it and not doing it" and it usually gets followed with excuses. However... I honestly believe in this case, for the sake of the success of a movement, it would be best started by someone who already has a strong traction of likeminded fans. I have not been on their channel long but I have noticed that these guys (and a few other youtubers) already have strong community voices. Now, in Albert's case, while I think he sould indeed make the effort on his own, it would be better and more efficiant if The Popcast and other SG youtubers started the movement and did streams and shoutouts on Twitter to get it going. Together, their platform pull more views than Albber (most liekly) and for this specific situation, those views and the contacts these guys have will do WAY MORE good than one guy posting a tweet for 5 views.
A new stargate series finally, I'm actually shedding a tear, I really hope they continue in real time, that the Tau'ri, Tok'ra, and Jaffa now have full control of the Milky Way, the Ori galaxy is in politics and trade with the Milky Way and Pegasus galaxies via Supergates where all 3 are connected, and the Tau'ri, other human races, and the Wraith have things going well in Pegasus. Now with a full fleet from multiple nations, we finally goto the Andromeda galaxy only to find new evils and secrets awaiting us, let's jump to hyperspace and find out soon

@@loturzelrestaurant ya, SGU was terrible, for so many reasons.. it was miserable, dark and moapie. also they showed contempt for the audience by adding things that they have made fun of in the past (like the younger cast, or the literal ticking clock element when dialling out on the Destiny..) and of course: less humour and no sense of togetherness or teamspirit.
I’ve been calling this for years. Amazon is better than Netflix as Netflix does not care about 5-10 year arc seasons which is funny cause Friends is always in demand on steaming services
Stargate appears to have turned out to be the #1 show people watch through the additional MGM subscription on Prime Video. Amazon also appears to have a very good track record of letting show runners more or less do what they want without too much interference, so the future for Stargate is looking very bright indeed!
They could easily make a contemporary show using the Stargate universe. Make the premiere episode about the Stargate and Atlantis becoming public, and make the first season about the fallout and ramifications about that information. That could make great drama.

I remember seeing videos saying if Amazon bought MGM we might get another Stargate series, and now it's happened. I agree the $50 million number is good considering what Amazon has already proven willing to spend on original content like LOTR. I think we'll get a new Stargate series from Amazon and I couldn't be more excited.
I just wish to watch Stargate Atlantis with my paid subscription without having to pay again to watch each episode...come on Amazon quit bleeding us dry when we know you pay no taxes on your millions you earn!
Amazon is already investing a ton of time and effort on their Lord of the Rings series which is supposed to come out sometime in 2021. Amazon studios has even said that everything else is on a backburner, all hands on deck for LOTR, which is taking place during the Second Age of Middle Earth after the fall of Morgoth and the first rise of Sauron, and which ended with the destruction of Numenor by Illúvatar.
Are you sure it will take place after the fall of Numenor? That would mean it would take place at the beginning of the third age. Because after the fall of Numenor, the world was reshaped and a large portion of the known world dissapeared in the ocean. So I would think the show is going to take place before the fall whilest Melkor was still a friend to the elves.
Not interested at all... they want it to be the next Game of Thrones, that is not what LOTR should be. I eat my words if it is actually good, but lets be real... we will look back at The Hobbit and suddenly that wont be so bad anymore.
I'be been waiting for YEARS for a return of Stargate SG1 AND I'm love to see STARGATE Atlantis return also. It's been awful since Amazon stopped the reruns on Prime Video. A reboot would be a dream come true! So lets push the button and light the "fire in the hole."

Compared to star trek, the creator of stargate is still alive and has worked on the continuation of the story over the ten years. I think that his style from the old series can be found again even if it was definitely adapted to the present day with more money, more computer animation and faster stories. monster of the week will probably not follow, but finally new stories in the universe we know.
mgm do have one thing very close to release, the next James Bond. but that is already paid for. James Bond is another gem mgm own. they had a much richer catalogue of films, but sadly they sold many to Turner for classic movie channel that used to run on cable. so they dont own Wizard of Oz for example now.
Black Female James Bond will Bomb just like J.J. Abram's Black Superman who will replace Henry Cavil will make them wish that they had stuck with the Snyder verse. If Amazon has one lick of sense they will stop it before they lose money on it.
I'm so glad I lived to see it come back. But I really need stargate universe back. Stargate Universe is the one that pretty much changed my entertainment life. Very short-lived.
Several years ago when I decided to watch the complete Stargate Series, I began watching it on Netflix, however on one of those periodic updates the series was no longer on Netflix. It had moved to Amazon Prime video. That's when I decided to sign up for the Amazon Prime. Back when the video portion was considered an extra feature of Prime and not a main reason to sign up. To me only reason to sign up was to watch the Stargate Series. The free shipping, books, etc. was secondary. I've had it ever since.
Do not forget amazon is going for Fallout also, as well mentioned LOTR. Very glad about those projects. SG continuence is a dream maybe coming to reality!
I agree, I want more Dark Matter. The way they ended the show and it had decent ratings as well. So many great shows that die or are cancelled because some not so smart executive hates the show they get cancelled.
@Neil Rosenau "i just hope Amazon doesn't turn Stargate into Star Trek" from your mouth to god's ears, my friend! xD Amazon makes shows like The Expanse and The Boys, so i think it will be more like them. which is good news for some people, because these shows are liked (by some). but honestly i'm not a big fan of them. i've seen all of The Boys and it's a miserable show.. it's sometimes gleefully evil, dark and there is no sense of decency, togetherness, teamspirit or much humour (which was so important in SG) and the show looks dingy, especially in the scenes where they hide in the basements. i haven't seen The Expanse (only the trailer) but the look of the show tells me that it's also dark and miserable (i think they even mention the word "terrorism". in all the 300+ episodes of SG, i can't think of one episode where that word appears xD) maybe it's just me.. but i don't like to be miserabled at in my TV shows xD, so what Amazon does isn't really for me :( also keep in mind that the Air Force and the Canada-ness was a big part of Stargate. the Air Force really had good science and tech advisors (which is why a lot of the technology and the dialogue felt so real) and the AF also made sure that there is some restraint (in a standard Hollywood show Jack and Sam would have hooked up right away) and i think sublety and restraint go a long way.. i think you can get a glimpse of what we're in for, by looking at SGU. it was made in the US, not Canada, and it felt less fun, more dark, there was no teamspirit and everybody felt like a detached moapie selfobsessed Hollywood person xD (sry for the long comment xD)
Really hope amazon makes the show, the way the fans want, and not fill it with identity politics and all the other BS, so many franchises have been destroyed, Star Trek, Star Wars, Dr Who, James Bond, to name but a few. Hope the do it right!
@@onemannews That is my point they don’t have complete freedom to write anymore, it is has to fall in line with politically correct views or face extreme criticism on top of the usual stuff. Comedy films today for example are less funny than a funeral, I want racism, misogynistic characters, homophobia, extreme over the top violence, rape and more but written in a way it is funny.
I just hope it resumes filming in BC Canada. I was BG in the years of SG1 and SG Atlantis. Did many episodes and had a great time doing it. My favorite actor is Amanda Tapping, she is a warm and wonderful person. I know that the new SG will have all new characters but hopefully will stay true to its original roots.

sp,e of these questions really do need to be answered since we don't know the full damage to the Milky Way Galaxy caused by the Ori invasion given that it was still revobering from the Replicators attack and the rule of the Goa'uld

Stargate SG-1 was better than the original movie! Casting Richard Dean Anderson, Amanda Tapping, Michael Shanks and Christopher Judge was a perfect match. We can only hope the new cast is as well matched

I don't know, Amazon announced that they will cancel The Expanse after only 2 Amazon produced Seasons, before the first episode that they produced was even released, before they had any metrics how well it will be doing, that is not a good sign.
The Expanse Story is far from over, lots of books that have not been adapted yet. ...and of course one of the Actors managed to get himself cancelled and fired.

There is one additional reason for optimism -- season 6 is (supposedly) the final season of The Expanse. So, there will be an open slot for a space-based sci-fi show.
That is NOT a positive. They cancelled The Expanse before the first Amazon made episode was even released, without any real metrics on how well it did and the Series will be left unfinished, there are entire Books of source material left that have not been adapted, imagine Game of Thrones had been cancelled after Season 6 and the Books had been completed. ...why would anybody do that?
I see this as a very bad Omen for Stargate. Do you want the next one to end up like SGU or Dark Matter again, cancelled in the middle of the Series?

it's a streaming site, the notion of "slots" is completely meaningless these days, as there is no "Friday evening death slot" - indeed, that's a good time for geeks to watch shows if nothing else is going on that evening.
@@ZeroB4NG The show was always planned to take a break at that stage. I'm still reading book 4 right now, but I know that 20 years pass between books 6 and 7. I can't imagine that a plot set twenty years later can just be pulled back for the sake of regular season releases without massively altering the story.
@@chouseification while the notion of "slots" is completely irrelevant in the streaming age, what they do have is a set budget for shows with a given target audience. The Expanse wrapping up until irl time has passed will free up a good chunk of that budget that could potentially go to stargate.
I doubt that after all this time we'll immediately see an Expanse-level budget, but a piece of that could easily go to getting a stargate show out there to test the waters in a much more meaningful was than Origins did.

I think with the forced divergence though it's probably best to end it early. When GoT had to diverge it got bad, and then the show runners got bored of doing it so they drove it into the ground ASAP. At least we can be relatively sure that's not going to happen in S6 of The Expanse. That's the only silver lining though.

Great News! I have the box sets and become depressed when I get close to the end episodes. A few days ago I wished there would have been more seasons, but realized that probably would never happen. I am one of the 75,000 that subscribed for Stargate Command. I am excited by this news and will step up and subscribe to any streaming service that carries new Stargate content.
The new series needs to be plenty of episodes (~20), each around 45 minutes long.
With Brad as showrunner, this will help keep it on track and fit in with previous shows. Alumni actors returning sounds great! Bring back Shepard and Mackay, two of my favorites! Sam and Daniel Jackson expected to return is excellent. Lets hope it happens in the next year ahead!
If they bring Sheppard back, they should make him at least a brigadier general in charge of Atlantis. Joe Flanigan is 54 years old now. Way too old for front-line work.

I hate SGU. It had a weak foundation, they made very poor story choices that were bizarre and made no sense, and they took a lot of it too far. I don't mind going dark. They were going cynical to try and rip off Ron Moore's Battlestar Galactica.
It started rough and I disliked it but the story and characters got good over several episodes by the end I wanted more.

i think it's less about SJW stuff and more about the tone and the writing.
remember: in SG1 Sam also said something about how it doesn't matter whether her reproductive organs are on the inside or outside...
but the tone of the show was light and fun, and the writing was fantastic (especially from S3 or 4 onward) and that allowed us to ignore/forget the more cringey parts.
when people critisise Star Trek Discovery (for example) they focus on the SJW stuff, but you have to keep in mind that that show is also terribly written, looks ugly (dark and miserable, low saturation) and it's not clever or witty, and the characters don't have much of a connection to each other (unlike in SG1).
i think these other elements are way more important than some cringey line here or there..
Characters I want to see in a New Stargate Series! Eli Wallace, Rodney McKay (Rush can have a stasis pod 'accident') , Vala Mal Doran, John Sheppard, Ronon Dex !! and no gate room is complete with out Walter ! Bring it on already :)

@@BartJBols Its not always that simple, Anyone could try and start a hashtag trend, but it way more effective when you get established social hubs like these gusy to kick it off and then contribute. It all comes down to exposure and the quicker you can get the trend noticed and going, the better. Don't get me wrong, I do like this comment because I too see a lot of people say "I think that x needs to happen" but then do nothing to push it. I have seen it plenty of times and I have had a lot of discussions with old friends who had habits of saying they "wished they did this" or that it would be "cool to do that" and so on and I usually retort with "Why are you talking about it and not doing it" and it usually gets followed with excuses.
However... I honestly believe in this case, for the sake of the success of a movement, it would be best started by someone who already has a strong traction of likeminded fans. I have not been on their channel long but I have noticed that these guys (and a few other youtubers) already have strong community voices. Now, in Albert's case, while I think he sould indeed make the effort on his own, it would be better and more efficiant if The Popcast and other SG youtubers started the movement and did streams and shoutouts on Twitter to get it going. Together, their platform pull more views than Albber (most liekly) and for this specific situation, those views and the contacts these guys have will do WAY MORE good than one guy posting a tweet for 5 views.
A dial the gate campaign would be a great idea. Once it gets enough traction it will take off like Snyder verse.

A new stargate series finally, I'm actually shedding a tear, I really hope they continue in real time, that the Tau'ri, Tok'ra, and Jaffa now have full control of the Milky Way, the Ori galaxy is in politics and trade with the Milky Way and Pegasus galaxies via Supergates where all 3 are connected, and the Tau'ri, other human races, and the Wraith have things going well in Pegasus. Now with a full fleet from multiple nations, we finally goto the Andromeda galaxy only to find new evils and secrets awaiting us, let's jump to hyperspace and find out soon

Stargate appears to have turned out to be the #1 show people watch through the additional MGM subscription on Prime Video.
Amazon also appears to have a very good track record of letting show runners more or less do what they want without too much interference, so the future for Stargate is looking very bright indeed!
They could easily make a contemporary show using the Stargate universe. Make the premiere episode about the Stargate and Atlantis becoming public, and make the first season about the fallout and ramifications about that information. That could make great drama.

I agree the $50 million number is good considering what Amazon has already proven willing to spend on original content like LOTR. I think we'll get a new Stargate series from Amazon and I couldn't be more excited.

Amazon is already investing a ton of time and effort on their Lord of the Rings series which is supposed to come out sometime in 2021. Amazon studios has even said that everything else is on a backburner, all hands on deck for LOTR, which is taking place during the Second Age of Middle Earth after the fall of Morgoth and the first rise of Sauron, and which ended with the destruction of Numenor by Illúvatar.

Are you sure it will take place after the fall of Numenor? That would mean it would take place at the beginning of the third age. Because after the fall of Numenor, the world was reshaped and a large portion of the known world dissapeared in the ocean. So I would think the show is going to take place before the fall whilest Melkor was still a friend to the elves.

Compared to star trek, the creator of stargate is still alive and has worked on the continuation of the story over the ten years. I think that his style from the old series can be found again even if it was definitely adapted to the present day with more money, more computer animation and faster stories. monster of the week will probably not follow, but finally new stories in the universe we know.

mgm do have one thing very close to release, the next James Bond. but that is already paid for. James Bond is another gem mgm own. they had a much richer catalogue of films, but sadly they sold many to Turner for classic movie channel that used to run on cable. so they dont own Wizard of Oz for example now.

I'm so glad I lived to see it come back. But I really need stargate universe back. Stargate Universe is the one that pretty much changed my entertainment life. Very short-lived.
Several years ago when I decided to watch the complete Stargate Series, I began watching it on Netflix, however on one of those periodic updates the series was no longer on Netflix.
It had moved to Amazon Prime video. That's when I decided to sign up for the Amazon Prime. Back when the video portion was considered an extra feature of Prime and not a main reason to sign up. To me only reason to sign up was to watch the Stargate Series. The free shipping, books, etc. was secondary. I've had it ever since.
Do not forget amazon is going for Fallout also, as well mentioned LOTR. Very glad about those projects. SG continuence is a dream maybe coming to reality!

Amazon makes shows like The Expanse and The Boys, so i think it will be more like them. which is good news for some people, because these shows are liked (by some). but honestly i'm not a big fan of them. i've seen all of The Boys and it's a miserable show.. it's sometimes gleefully evil, dark and there is no sense of decency, togetherness, teamspirit or much humour (which was so important in SG) and the show looks dingy, especially in the scenes where they hide in the basements. i haven't seen The Expanse (only the trailer) but the look of the show tells me that it's also dark and miserable (i think they even mention the word "terrorism". in all the 300+ episodes of SG, i can't think of one episode where that word appears xD)
maybe it's just me.. but i don't like to be miserabled at in my TV shows xD, so what Amazon does isn't really for me :(
also keep in mind that the Air Force and the Canada-ness was a big part of Stargate. the Air Force really had good science and tech advisors (which is why a lot of the technology and the dialogue felt so real) and the AF also made sure that there is some restraint (in a standard Hollywood show Jack and Sam would have hooked up right away) and i think sublety and restraint go a long way..
i think you can get a glimpse of what we're in for, by looking at SGU. it was made in the US, not Canada, and it felt less fun, more dark, there was no teamspirit and everybody felt like a detached moapie selfobsessed Hollywood person xD

Similar to what happened in Startek Voyager they are trapped far far away no stargates in sight and need thousands years back they still try meet new races share technology and at some point in season 5 they meet ancients who didn't acsend who gives them the drive (Atlantis has) and need after a few Galaxy jumps a cooldown of a few days and after 10 more year's they at home

Survived and make their way to another galaxy and they managed to get to the Pegasus replicators, which causes them go to the Ida galaxy together, however the Asgard win ,and salvages their technology, which caused them to help the tauri with ZPM's at the end of the movie the the replicator creating device is found by the Tauri and Asgard, the asgard reprogramming it to make biological body's, this universe has a bright future

He is trying to make a new hyperdrive ,and instead of different universe's it's time travel
After they find out how to control it, they get all Asgard's before they blow them self's up ,and explain how they can survive without the clone problem, they also snatching a few ZPMS thought time travel (before they find out how to control it)

I can't wait for SGU to start again, I love all the stargates but SGU was smothered in infancy and it had sooooo much life in it.
I hope they do bring stargate back. I have seriously watched SG-1 at least 6 times from start to finish. Stargate Atlantis at minimum 6 times but probably closer to 8. LOVE the characters! Please please bring it back.

Well it sounds nice, but worried it will be once again a New Star trek discovery, or picard or Star Wars all over again Seems like Lotr has the same issues... Sure the expanse did succed, so maybe...

The inclusion of the writers/creators/actors from the original Stargate series gives me a glimmer of hope that a new Stargate series will be done right. We've seen what can happen with beloved franchises like Star Trek, Star Wars, Doctor Who and so forth when the leftist ideologues in "entertainment" media run them into the ground, using them as their personal Woke platforms instead of just good entertainment for everyone. Please, no more prequels or reimagining. Let's move forward into a positive Stargate future building off the greatness of what came before.

Stargate SG-1 was better than the original movie! Casting Richard Dean Anderson, Amanda Tapping, Michael Shanks and Christopher Judge was a perfect match. We can only hope the new cast is as well matched

Amanda Tapping literally said that Brad asked her about a project but it had nothing to do with Stargate... Twice! Once during an interview and a reiteration on Twitter.

Exactly, plus everyone has a limited number of years left. Brad is only six years older than I am and neither he or I don't look old or decrepit like some do at that age, a lot of people take better care of themselves than others.

No it isn't. He is stating a fact. The average human male will live to 74. He is saying that Brad isn't a young man anymore. And that he doesn't have 20 years to ponder while the powers that be decide on decide on whether to do a Stargate series.
