Agree w/ Matt re: Gunnar's involvement. Glad that he was finally able to make a difference in the game last night, but he should have been more of a factor earlier. If UT is to stay in the running for a national championship, they will need Gunnar to be the type of factor that David Thomas was when UT won its championship vs. USC.
David Thomas was great, not a big guy, though. I saw him in Midland not long ago with Roy Williams and Williams was bigger than David Thomas. If it comes down to a USC type of game, then we are in huge trouble because Ewers runs like a dead guy.

We tired our defense out, because Ewers was throwing the ball out carelessly, even on easy 2&3rd downs. Offense was off the field in under a min at times. Sarkisian did not prepare mentally the players for top opponents. He always wants the players loose and confident. Then in the 2nd half,, usualy we saw UT players really loose and not tough enough to pull out. This happens in SEC championship game. I doubt with such loose players what can expect in the cotton bowl.

I guess you can do this if you are in the Big XII. Refs missed calls on both sides.

The refs were horrible in this game. They missed linemen down field in the play where AZ State’s QB made that amazing play running all over the field. They missed marked the ball several times. They missed Scattabo getting pulled in to the end zone. They missed offensive holding several times on both teams. They were bad. College football has had major officiating problem for a long time with no sign they plan to fix it. But let’s not cheapen the efforts of both teams by saying the refs were there to help Texas. Both teams gave us a great game and we should be happy about it. Finally a game in these playoffs that actually looked like a college game.
