With the whole 33 increments thing, you're still aging at a normal rate when you time travel. Time is moving forwards at all points in times no matter how long you spend in each time. The characters don't age faster because of the time travel
the reason Hannah saw Boris hide the gun and passport is because she was stalking Ulrich and Katherina, who we know she stalks. GENIUS writing. There is SO much in this show that is thought through and never spelled out to the audience. We're expected to be intelligent viewers. That's why she knows what Boris is capable of doing...
I remember before the show I kept asking "Ok why does every single review keep going on about how good the casting is?", but damn, after watching the first two seasons I can't help but constantly think that now too. I actually don't think this show could have worked if they weren't so on-point with the casting, it'd be so much harder keeping track of who is who when switching time periods.
Just be patient, all of your questions will be answered, just not when you expect it. In fact sometimes you first get the answer and much later the question for that answer. Even right now you already got a bunch of answers for questions you dont know even exist. The show is basically structured like the timetravel plot, things dont happen linear. Its even the first thing they teach you at the beginning of the show. That is what makes Dark such a great show, the insane craftmanship you have to have to create such a good show from a filmmaker perspective.

The observer effect is one hell of a thing. Things that have happened can't have not happened, but there are many more things that have happened that have not been seen specifically so the details aren't know to any except those who made the thing happen. or something like that. (Also, when you have a room-spanning wall-o-weird in your hotel room that involves everyone in town including the hotel proprietor, at least leave the 'Do Not Disturb' placard on the door.🤦♀)
SPOILERS WARNING I remember being surprised that Alexander/Boris turned out not to be a time traveler nor that relevant to the overall scheme of things, I am not misremembering that right?
When you guys use the terms, "present", "past" and "future" you are assuming a fixed reference time. But, the Einstein quote from the very start says this is an illusion. I suspect you will stop doing that, after a few more episodes, as have the rest of us.
from an outside perspective and not from a time traveling characters pov 1986 is still a future point from 1953 for example. the Einstein quote relates in this case more to the line of causality
I think you're confusing yourselves with your discussions more than you need to. Season one shouldn't be that confusing. Y'all need to lock in if you're going to make it through the last two seasons.
What the issue of being related? Such a dumb focus on it. They arr only related by blood, not even by relationships cause its just cause timetrsvelling. And they can just not have kids and be FINE. What's the fucking issue? Jesus.
yes, I feel a lot of people get caught up with this, if you're talking about Jonas and Martha. I never really had a huge issue with that aspect because they did not grow up together as aunt/nephew, there was never that inclination or family dynamic. they were always childhood friends who grew to love each other and that was before finding out that info (which is due to freakin time travel). the whole point is that they love each other, simple as that, they can't help what their heart guides them to. I just don't view it as some corrupt incestual taboo thing when there was never that precedent.
@ I'm glad to find people who agree, because I notice a lot of reactors get hung up on this and it kinda annoys me especially with how central Jonas/Martha are to the story.
Jacob: We don't have time for theories.
Caleb: No, we do not.
*Looks at video runtime*
Still an hour of video left.
Oh ok
an we LOVE it
oh boy season 2 discussions gonna be MESSY lmao

They kind of talked around it a bit, but I'm 90% sure they're on the right page with this.

“Not sure if they will go into Charlottes lineage”…….Oh boy!

When you can see a different generation of a charter and know who they are already is perfect casting.

Hannah finding the gun wasn't a convenience. They literally showed her watching Boris/Alexander hide the bag back in '86.

Ive watched this show through 4 times. It still hurts my head.
Damn, you know the bros love a show when they do 1hr+ discussions

Even if he had left it on the door, Regina knows he hasn't returned so it would still be alright to enter in her mind.
@ yeah, I know, but it’s like…. at least a minimal token effort would have been made? 😆
i love that people who knows time travel think that they will have their mind blow...you will reach nirvana with season 3.
C'mon, Shortbeard - pls let Longbeard get a full thought out before cutting him off with your own. Would love to see what you each are thinking 😊
For real!!! Love the boys, but I'm joining the Jacob defense squad here, wish Caleb would let him finish cooking haha
I love these nicknames for them
Can't wait for the next episode! I've never ranked my personal favorite episodes of Dark, but the season 1 finale would be well ranked, I'm sure.
Dark + Blue Eye Samurai = such an awesome combo 😀
Yep. My favorite live action sci fi show and my favorite English language animated show.

Helge’s parents are Bernd Doppler and grumpy Greta Doppler, not unknown travelers
Bernd isn’t his biological father
