One of the greatest Yankees ever! The warrior, and heart and soul of those Yankee teams that will legendary in the mid to late 90s. What a blessing it was watching Paul and those teams play. We are blessed 1 million times over. God bless you Paul and your family and thank you for being a true Yankee and always the warrior!
Back in 1993 when Paul O’Neill was brought in by the Yankees in a trade for Roberto Kelly to the Reds. I had a question who the hell is Paul O’Neill? It didn’t take me long to find out that’s for sure. In less than two months I became a huge fan of Paul O’Neill and I was just floored by how hard he played and how much passion he had. His meltdowns in the dugout after getting struck out after an at bat were legendary! That instantly endeared me to him because it showed me how much he cared not only about his own personal performance but his contribution to the team. This guy wanted to get a hit every single time he got to the plate. In the outfield he started in left field and played with reckless abandon and at the plate he was an absolute pest. Fouling off pitch after pitch after pitch. In right field he played with the same level of passion. The Warrior a nickname given to him by George Steinbrenner wasn’t just a moniker it described him in a nutshell and fit him in every way. He’s a lot more mellow now that he’s a broadcaster but when he was a player he was a madman driven by an insane desire to win and that’s what I loved most about him as a player.
The yankees retire so many numbers , some players in the future are going to have to wear #100 . Oneil was a good player , but I don’t understand the # retirement ? Am I wrong ?
This will shut the Yankee fans up. Booing LaTroy Hawkins for wearing it and he had to change it. I’m sure the Reds will retire his number too as a member of 1990 Champs and first ever to kick the ball
The one guy who always gets invited to these things is Geno. Shows how important and respected he was to every player and that dynasty
Glad I was there for this. Thanks for uploading!
My all time favorite Yankee, the warrior!
And still on YES
Underated warrior! It’s what the Yankees
need today. Not one current player has
half the heart❤ as Paul👏
Love watching him on YES as well

*99 will be the next one retired.*
I love they booed Hal Steinbrenner lol. Yankee fans are the best!
Crowds are so dead nowadays that even when they're cheering it's half assed
Oooooooooooo Neillllllllll
CC’s #52 will be next

No your not wrong…your actually completely right!
You're completely right...O'Neill wasn't all that, he had a big loud mouth, that's about all
@@kendallevans4079 Loud mouth? How about knowing you're sh*t before speaking
Hal getting justly booed, LOVE IT. Hated him since 2017, it’s about damn time the fans finally realized he’s been holding the franchise back
wishing Hal to sell is as dumb as it gets.
Retiring numbers is completely ridiculous!!
Bullshit jeter didn't come
He’s been distanced since he retired, beef with Cashman from the old days
Plis stop to retired number...

At some point, I hope MLB retires #21 league-wide in honor of Roberto Clemente.
Loved Paul O’Neil but retiring his number? This is wack
