    I really don’t understand any of these Serbian comments with rude attitude judging you for trying mcds in Serbia, wtf... there’s nothing wrong with trying it and you’re definitely not refusing to eat traditional Serbian foods and not trying to just live on burgers your whole stay there so who cares. I’m from Europe and usually every European country has some different things on the menu, some seasonal stuff as well it’s fun to try! And when I visit the US I try all sorts of different fast foods that are not available in Europe. Trying new things is always exciting :)

      Trying the local variety of something that is available everywhere is always the best. You get to taste the difference and compare. It may be American fast food but it’s still American fast food in Serbia 😉

    Coming to Serbia and eating at McDonald’s is ridiculous. For me, it’s the worst food. In Serbia, you have to try Serbian food and instead of a McDonald's burger, you take Serbian burger, or čevape, or any other food that is incomparably better. Visit some famous restaurants, it is not expensive and it is unforgettable.

    • @NomAdventurers

      Agreed, Serbian food is delicious. Just wanted to see how different McDonald’s is here.

    For traditional Serbian food I recommed you to visit restaurant "Bela reka". Try lamb soup and lamb under "sač". Believe me, it will pay off :)

    • @NomAdventurers
      @NomAdventurers  3 роки тому

      That sounds absolutely delicious! I will definitely go to that restaurant and try that soup.

    And for international food, I recommend restaurant Milagro in Zemun. It's Spanish cousine. Order beaf stake on a hot vulcanic stone. Something to remember.

    • @NomAdventurers
      @NomAdventurers  3 роки тому

      I haven’t had much international food here in Belgrade, aside from Chinese and sushi, so it would be interesting to try something different. Steak on a hot volcanic stone sounds so good!

    You really have to try Serbian (Balkan) cuisine, I advise ćevapi (kebabs), Karadjordjeva šnicla (Karadjordj's steak), pljeskavica (burger), pečenje. Also from cooked dishes sarma is a must! Don't miss to try kajmak, ajvar, dried meat like pršuta (prosciutto) or slaninica (bacon)! Of the drinks, of course rakija (serbian/balkan brandy), beer Zaječarc (named after the town of Zječar), and you have good wines on Fruška gora. Don't miss going to the market and preparing some food from home. Markets are open every day. Go to Tempo, Vero, Lidl centers, not to Idea, Aroma because they are smaller and more expensive shops...although it's not a huge difference in prices, but for locals it is. You will find the best food and entertainment in the kafana (tavern). Skadarlija Street is expensive, but it is worth to have that experience when you are in Serbia.
    Also besides Belgrade, I advise Novi Sad, Zrenjanin in the north, where the influence of the Austro-Hungarian period can be seen.
    In the west of Serbia Čačak a city of rebellion and basketball, near the city there is Ovčarsko-Kablarska gorge with 10 monasteries called Serbian Holy Mountain, a city where you can find a Monument of four religions which is the tomb of soldiers who died in ww1 and represents respect for all people regardless of nationality and religion. In the south the cities of Nis and Vranje. Be sure to visit the Uvac reserve and the Djerdap National Park (it would be best to go on a Danube cruise). The great treasure of Serbia are its Orthodox monasteries dating back to the Middle Ages, some of the most famous are Zica, Studenica, Manasija, Sopocani, Mileseva, Blagoveshtenje, Nikolje ...There are also churches, Saborna crkva in Belgrade, the Church of St. Mark and the Church of St. Sava in Belgrade (built from the 1935 until today) and it is a must. Although most of the Serbs are part of the Orthodox faith, there are also Serb Muslims, Serb Catholics and Serb Jews, so I recommend a tour of the Bajrakli Mosque (Belgrade), Bali Bey Mosque (Nis), Altun-Alem Mosque (Novi Pazar), Arab Mosque (Novi Pazar), as well as the Catholic Cathedral Name of Mary Church (Novi Sad), and from the synagogue Sukat shalom (hut of peace), Novi Sad Synagogue (Novi Sad), Subotica Synagogue (Subotica), Prayer House (Nis)...
    In addition to many sights and places in Belgrade that you will find on various sites such as Kalemegdan Fortress, Knez Mihailova, National Theater, Captain Misha's Building, Skadarlija, Botanical Garden, Tesla Museum, House of Flowers (Tito's grave), Avala, I advise you to go to New Cemetery and a tour of the open-air museum and large collections of sculptural works and graves of great Serbs (Alley of the Greats and Alley of deserving citizens).
    Also from local gems I present to you: Bookastore if you like coffee and books, Astal if you like board games, clubs in Cetinjska 15, and the Brewery at the end of Cetinjska Street, Kafana znak pitanja (Tavern question mark) which is the oldest tavern in Belgrade.
    There’s so much more.
    Also, some of the famous Serbs are: Novak Djokovic (the best tennis player in the world), Nikola Jokic (NBA star), Vlade Divac (NBA star), Zeljko Obradovic (the most trophy basketball coach)...Nikola Tesla (we all know who he is 😉) , Mihailo Pupin (you probably have some of his patents in your phone, a very, very great person in world history, all his achievements cannot fit in one sentence), Milojko Vučelić (ua-cam.com/video/qKMJXone_74/v-deo.html), Milunka Savić (our Mulan of the ww1), Volter Bogdanic (winner of three Pulitzer Prizes), Ivo Andrić (winner of the Nobel Prize) and many, many more.
    I advise you to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially the cities of Visegrad, Mostar, Sarajevo, Banja Luka. The Croatian coast is also beautiful, but so is the capital Zagreb, and of course in Slovenia Ljubljana, Maribor, but also the jewel of Slovenia Bled.

    MC Donalds is the same, yep. But in generall, our cousines are almost the same, i mean, Serbia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania....
    The same vegetables, the same dishes,... Meat is dominant everywhere except in india and some Arab countries.
