Dude had money, was healthy, appeared in The Godfather, had a long full life and died of old age in his sleep. We should all be so lucky. Sad ending?

I just Googled him and the age he was when he first did Barney Miller. He was 54, one year younger than I am now and they called him " the old man" on the show. 😮

He played a little older, he retired at 63 after 3 seasons which made him 60 in the first season and I remember when Wojo had to describe him on the phone he said he's 63 but he looks a lot older.
Abe Vigoda also played Ezra Braithwaite on Dark Shadows in 1968.
I did not know that
Interesting.
Fun stuff, thanks for sharing this info about Abe. What other types of video would you like to see?
You forgot about Arthur Dietrich, played by Steve Landesberg. You also forgot to mention Frank Luger, played by James Gregory. Both are major characters in the Barney Miller series. Thank you for showcasing Mr. Vigoda, who was awesome!

The one thing I remember about Abe Vigoda was he would have a sour puss look on his face and he make you laugh. That is what I liked about Abe. Thank for your service during WW2 and the joy you brought to everyone. You are greatly missed Abe.
Truly, he was a multifaceted talent who left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry.
Loved Abe Vigoda aka Barney Miller's Sergeant Phill Fish! Sad when he left the Show! Although a Series Spinoff Starring Role with Him Was Still Pretty Cool To Watch! He also played such an Awesome Gangster/Mobster Type! Too Bad that they Couldn't have done a Boris Karloff Biography Movie back in the 1970s with him playing that Character and to whom he Really resembled a whole lot in some ways! Still Miss You Abe! Thank-You For Sharing and God Bless!
Us too! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. What other types of video would you like to see on our channel?

He was a brilliant actor and what I remember most is his performance in the Godfather and on Barney Miller then on his own show Fish.
Then later on he made an appearance on an episode of Barney Mille. The only thing I remember is him walking into the squad room then making a be line to the bathroom!
Great actor on a classic show
We absolutely agree! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Be safe and enjoy the have a great morning!☺
I loved all his work! I grew up watching Barney Miller with my parents. Such good memories. I think I got my sarcastic humor from him.😅
I Loved Det. Fish and all others on that show 💕🫠❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
We feel the same way! Which episode is your favorite?
Oh, you already have a video about Mr. Vigoda.
He could not have been in the Air Force during WWII as it ended in 1945 and the Air Force started two years later
He will always be Otis to me.
