She probably doesn't feel she can depend on Mendecees because of his bad decisions in the past that got him locked up, so she's making life changing decisions concerning their family without him.

At times in our lives as women yes we want to do the need for we want to do something extreme and I can understand it being on your heart to give your " sister a child but you don't realize you're doing it at the cost of your own children having a father and mother present in the homeif your husband is not for you he's against you and if you're not for your husband you're against him and it's valid feelings on both sides.
